Did you know that the cat from stray was modeled after a stray cat that the dev studio takes care off. Realy sweet how they even used motion capture to get the cats animations to feel like an actual cat

Stray is a great example of why indie games are better then 90% of triple a games (at least these days). Its a game made with passion instead of corporate greed. Only triple a game in the past few years that matches that is elden ring.

@Tomáš Trebatický What's great about the story or gameplay? it's fetch quest after fetch quest. Good for you if you found story interesting I didn't really cared for anybody in it. It's extremly strange that cat is able to understand robots and do quests for them in the first place.

One thing people don't really realize is that Stray is quite unique as a game, where you play as a somewhat realistic cat going on an adventure into some underground world inhabited by robots. I think with that, Stray feels a lot refreshing out of the millions of pixel platformers or fantasy RPGs we see everywhere in the indie market.

You only see pixel platformers and fantasy rpgs in the indie market because your looking at the surface, The postal series and castle crashers are great examples of amazing indie games outside platformers and rpgs, You just have to dig a little to see beneath the surface!

I played Stray (PS5) three times, and to be honest, I did NOT get bored. It’s freaking insane how a game has never been so fun and has truly been defined by its amazing storyline. I fully enjoyed this game and in 2 days, the experience felt like I was in the journey myself. Especially the adaptive triggers and PS5 experience, it eas a spectacular game. Two trophies although: ‘I Am Speed’ and a trophy involving avoiding being touched by the Zurks in chapter 2, were annoying but worth the grind! Stray. A masterpiece. 🙏😭

i loved the progressional cat drip you got throughout the game. i saw jacksepticeye get a badge and decided i NEEDED to play through the game again, to get every badge and memory. badges because i thought it'd look cool (it did) and the memories to see of there'd be an alternative ending, but there was not one. although, once you reach the final area of the game, B12 rewards you wish a shiny rainbow harness. pretty sweet reward

It's all predetermined by having you press a button when the prompt is on screen and it has next to no challenge as a result. Storywise it's fine and debatably cute but when i find the main gameplay rather simplistic it just takes away from the enjoyment for me.

Just finished the game, bawling my eyes out. I LOVED their take on typical scifi tropes, it's a game about hope, about optimism. Sure, you leave your new friends behind... for now, but they now have the option to leave just as you did. There is no truly sad or depressing content in the story, nothing that makes you cold and pessimistic, it gets bittersweet at worst. I would definitely call Stray my pick for Game of The Year, it's so beautiful and the story is so charming and surprisingly deep for a game whose gimmick is "you play as a normal cat" It's not like Silent Hill or anything but the subtext is there. Also, I just kinda assumed the robots treated the cat like some kind of savior due to absolutely not understanding what a Cat is, let alone and kind of organism except for the genetically engineered plants you find. Which made it really funny to see the characters put so much trust on the cat rescuing them from the dead city and then two seconds later the cat walks off to scratch the carpet or something. We love the funny cyberpunk cat game, and I'm sure we'll still love it for years to come.

I'm not the biggest fan of stray. The whole draw of the game is robot, sad, cat, look good. It doesn't have any depth, but feels like it needs it. It seems to be more of a demo for something else.

@@jakestan1185 every environment is exceptionally detailed every huge stylized and beautiful setpiece is explorable the combat is fluid, and dynamic with a playstyle for almost anyone and while being a hard game it's only overwhelming if you push yourself to much, and every bossfight has great music with an amazing scale. The only issues the game faces is it's multiplayer sucks, and quests can often seem random with no meaningful choice if it isn't part of an ending. Stray seems like an amazing atmospheric experience but elden ring is an amazing game.

I liked Dunkey's review of the game tbh. I just think that it's not anything particular amazing. Yes it's beautiful but it's hyped because it's a cat game and that's it tbh. Don't get me wrong I love cats but I love an interesting story more. Before your eyes is a prime example of amazing storytelling in just a few hours of gameplay. Btw Stryxo if you haven't played Before Your Eyes yet you need to. Loved the vid though so keep 'em coming!

Stray looks like a great game, the only issue is that I don't think I physically can play it because I'm a dog person. And allergic to cats. Personally I found the game to be just very okay. The story is decent, but very predictable. And while this game does excell at its presentation, thats really all it has going for it. Its pretty, but thats about it.
