The 2018 orchestra is still the best (that celeste to AC odyssey transition will never be topped) but this year was a great step up from the past years where there was such a connecting beat between them all that they all pretty much just sounded the same or the transitions were too abrupt and it ruined the flow. The transitions this year were smooth as butter with this one and it had flute guy with like 20 instruments to play and he nailed them all!

Balders Gate 3 really dropped the gauntlet , they raised the bar for everyone seemingly out of nowhere, and not even Zelda was ready for that, let alone every other top tier game this year. Historical acheivement! Now here's hoping we can get a Nintendo Switch port sometime soon 😂

Zelda was ready for that, people just got caught up in all the criticism of the same map and all that to appreciate what the game did. It is not a traditional game, its a sandbox and its very hard to WOW people with that like baldurs gate 3 did with its huge scale, VA, scenes, etc.

​​@@maximus2536Even as a sandbox TotK is pretty lackluster. It has an impressive physics engine, there's no denying that. But it doesn't take long for you to realize that the game around it is not designed to really take advantage of that. (Unsurprisingly, since it was created for BotW, and Nintendo didn't make enough changes to compensate). The only reason to get creative with the Zonnai devices is to create Tiktok videos, because the game itself sure as hell doesn't incentivize it. The devices are either too clunky to use, or so overpowered that the game quite literally plays itself. There's very little in between.
