this is super fun but imo the format needs refinement. wanting to take death stranding off the list while ape out hasnt even been discussed yet makes my skin crawl. A lot of great games got cut while some real clunkers are just sitting there unaddressed. Maybe go through the games one by one and separate into "definitely" "maybe" and "cut"? And 3 people disliking a game when only one likes it should probably be an automatic cut if youre doing a communal list. Idk i dont mean to be negative but it just didnt even seem like an accurate assessment of what you all liked the most.

I wish Suriel fought harder for DMC5 because it truly is one of the most polished games to release this year. I just purchased Days Gone a few days ago and within the first three hours I was walking through objects and I fell through the map. I feel genuinely insulted that a game like DMC5 gets overlooked for a game that is still this buggy nearly eight months after release.

You guys COULD do it mathematically. Just everyone rank the final list of games 1-whatever then total up each game's score and then it's golf rules, lowest score is GOTY. THEN once you have a top 20 (two tens?) Then you guys can deliberate to make your cases to adjust the ranking if you feel that the math gave a game a cold shake, even including cut ones. Just personally how I'd handle this type of conversation but I definitely enjoyed hearing you guys do this on camera!

I understand why sekiro took it at the VGA's but my personal favorite is definitely fallen order. J:FO might not be better than sekiro, but lightsabers in my opinion automatically beat everything else, especially when done right.

Even ignoring my problems with the combat system, there are plenty of other systems that could have been much better. For a game that is about going back and exploring planets you've been to before, there's a lot the game does to stifle that. The fact that there's no easy or quick way to travel to a specific place outside of simply walking back hurt my desire to find everything. Zeffo's ice cave in particular was awkward - after I've activated an elevator, why can't I call it from the top again? Why Force me to do the ice slides every time? I'm certainly glad that you enjoyed it to the extent you did, and I'm not trying to detract from that, but I think a blanket statement like that might be a bit too biased.

@@azianperc yeah I never found navigation to be annoying or frustrating in any way, and the elevatora stay where you leave them and anything that needs to be called can be, it's not a blanket statement at all I said that I had no issues with the game, it's a simple fact even if it's one that is subjective to me.

You guys bring up the Mario Odyssey thing from Game Informer where everyone liking a game doesn't automatically make it GOTY yet that's what RE2 turns out to be... I'm glad the process is now becoming more transparent where we get to see how some of these decisions are made and (in my own opinion) why they're wrong.

Hey guys, I like your content, but I feel it's definitely missing videos around the 10 - 20 minute mark, most of your stuff seems to be 1-3 hours, or a couple of minutes long. I used to really enjoy the exerpts from the game informer show that were around 10 - 20 minutes, and that's a more digestible time for me and I imagine a lot of others. Just think it's something that'd help a lot with your views. Thanks, and hope you get continued success with the show! :D

I feel like the Outer Wilds discussion might have gone very differently had any of them finished it. Maybe for something smaller like these games. This is more my personal and to me when when a site like IGN, Gamespot, or others of that like that pick GOTY it should be the best all around game. Not just based on personal favorites. It should be based on what the game brought to the table and how well it was made. Many other factors. Not everyone has the same experience so there needs to be a common ground.

Thanks for sharing your GOTY debate, but I have to say it was maddening to hear so many arguments get shut down with "I never played or finished this game." I understand this was a tumultuous year for you guys though, but hope for next year you can have a minimum number of games that you all have finished to facilitate some meaningful discussion. It felt like most of the games on these lists had one guy saying that he really liked it with the other three not having much to say about it. I'm curious to hear how Kyle feels about Death Stranding once he finishes it. I started off thinking highly of it but it wore out its welcome with me well before the time I got the platinum, just way too much exposition with the story.

Props to Suriel for championing Devotion. The storytelling is excellent. My only complaint is that it has fewer puzzles than Red Candle's first game, Detention. But the game design is still very good. That storybook was one of my favorite moments of 2019.

Sekiro takes the cake for me. RE 2 is an awesome game but I felt it needed better dificulty balancing on normal. I hated that the zombies would be bullet sponges when it came to headshots. Im not fond of leg shooting. Sekiro for the win with Jedi Fallen order in second place for me.
