Anguy won a few Tourneys in the books if i recall correctly, Would have been great to see him when the Brotherhood survivors went north of the wall, or maybe he'd go rogue or something when he saw what Melisandre and Thoros negotiated and we'd bump into him later. How many realize that he's singing - because he wants them to know they're coming? He doesn't want to surprise them and provoke a response. How did he know they were there - because they were talking in the forest. He heard them. How did he know they were a bunch of kids - because he could hear what they were saying. One thing we learned in the Marines - was Noise Discipline. At the beginning of _Platoon_ where this column of guys is blundering their way along - calling back and forth to each other - that is there - to show you that this is not a good unit. You can hear that shit a mile away. Also - the animals can hear it. If you're moving along quietly - YOU - can hear the animals (that's how Hunters kill them). If you are being quiet - and you don't hear any animals - somethings up. .

nope, he did warn him. it would have technically have been hot pie's fault. let's remeber this is a show that just showed the king's men murdering babies, this show also has incest and children that have resulted from said incest, not to mention some demon chick who gives birth to a shadow who goes on to kill someone. someone had their head violently crushed and someone was beheaded in the very first episode for "abandoning" his post. i doubt the guy has to play off anything. his resulting response to hot pie not moving: "ah, would you look at that. the fat idiot didn't move. one less idiot in the forest." so, hot pie being murdered because he wasn't fast enough to move (and he was forewarned) is just the tip of the iceberg.

Gendry is an *unacknowledged* bastard. He isn't anywhere in the line of succession. He would have needed to be acknowledged (by his father) and then legitimized (by the King, which is in his case the same person) before he would be anywhere in the line of succession.
