In Wildling culture if a man can successfully steal a woman then that means he proved his strength and worth and they are now together. So technically when Jon captured her they became a couple according to Wildling customs. Or that’s how Ygritte sees it in the books anyway.

To explain the Granny's attitude, the High garden area is one of those where homosexuality is not criminalized. In fact it's quite normal in there. Their attitudes reflect ancient Chinese attitudes that you can 'swallow the sword' as long as you do your duty to your wife and family. I think Loras and Margery are 100% on board of this but he is not loving it but is at least in the know that he needs to do his part. In GOT world, Dorne (located near High garden if I remember right) is also open with homosexuality but even more so.

I'm no particular Catelyn defender, but she only brought Frey's terms to Robb - it was Robb who accepted them, then broke them - so I don't blame her for that one. Pretty sure Olenna was needling Tywin to make him uncomfortable and throw him off balance a bit. So while that she was speaking opinions of her culture, she was being strategic with it.

I completely disagree. When Catelyn visited Ned at Petyr's establishment in season 1, he gave her explicit instructions that she did not follow. He told her to go home, send loyal men to protect their moat, strengthen forces at their harbor, and to keep Theon Greyjoy close. Instead she captured Tyrion and went to the Eerie. Then, she lost him with that trial by combat foolishness. If she'd followed Ned's instructions, Theon could have never captured Winterfell. Also, since she detoured from the plan, she could have at least taken Tyrion to Winterfell and held him prisoner there. They could have traded him for Ned.

Yep, and no translation of the Bible ever referenced homosexuality at all until a council of American men with political motivations added that wording in the 1940's. Not exactly the word of God 😅
@je7055
@je7055 Ай бұрын
@@angelalurtz3638 Before you get flooded with responses, both Old & New Testament do condemn the sex act itself, but not simply the state of being attracted to people of the same sex. They didn't really have the concept of sexual orientation, which is a pretty modern idea. And technically it only condemns the act for male couples, if you take the verses at face value. In fact, in Victorian England, homosexual acts were only criminalized for men, since Queen Victoria didn't think it was physically possible for two women to have sex, bless her heart😁 But more fundamentally, the Bible also supports slavery & commands Christians to kill people that take God's name in vain or work/perform labor on the Sabbath. Virtually every Christian recognizes that not every moral proscription & command in the Bible is valid or should be valid, which is one of the problems with the folks who use the Bible to justify homophobia-they're arbitrarily picking & choosing which of the old laws are still applicable, to support their own preconceptions. I don't mean _every_ Christian, of course. Goes without saying that there are many Christians who acknowledge the long-held understanding of Original Sin, that sin is best defined as a condition every person is born into, gay or straight. And plenty of Christians who prioritize Christ's commandment to love thy neighbor & treat others as you'd want them to treat you. But for the other ones, who want Biblical justification for their political ideology, the language is unfortunately present in the Bible for them to point to, even if they have to ignore all the equally silly laws like "kill anyone you see working on the Sabbath."

I've had rabbit and it's pretty good. The meat is super lean and can be tough if you don't cook it right. It works great in a slow cooker/stews/ other methods where you can moisten the meat because those fellas jump around all day and have NO fat on them. Taste and texture varies a bit based on the kind of rabbit but is somewhere between dark meat chicken and pork, and can be a little game-y depending on how you cook it. Worth trying if you get the chance ethically. Friend of mine knew a rabbit breeder and apparently some are bred for meat instead of for pelt or pets or competition or such.

I think you guys missed something when it comes to Catelyn. She freed Jaime because she thought the Karstarks would kill him that night, and him dead they not only lose their bargaining chip for nothing but Sansa might get hurt as retaliation. It seems crazy to free him for his word that he'll send Sansa back but it's not crazy if he's about the get killed for nothing. Then you might as well take a bet on him. Catelyn was obviously right since when he was gone the Karstarks killed the 2 boys instead. So they would definitely have killed Jaime. And clearly Robb was completely unable to stop them. Going behind her son's back wasn't cool but she was right about it. Robb couldn't have kept Jaime alive. And you see in the following episodes that Jaime was actually serious about keeping his word, so Catelyn was right there too. She doesn't deserve the amount criticism you have for her.

Rabbit is delicious when cooked right but more gamey than other meat. I personally don't like using the meat for ground meat recipes like tacos or sloppy joes. It's better roasted. I also don't like the gamey flavor in broth. You can buy it at good healthier produce stores. In my area they sell it at downtown produce in melbourne fl. I am sure you have something similar where you are from. My husband tried harvesting rabbit but I couldn't stomach eating rabbits whose eyes I have seen. Funny enough our rabbit parents were named Peter (Bealish) and Sansa. 😆

@Adison You can cook rabbit in a stew . You put first the potatoes some bay leaf, olive oil (some water if it dries too much) and then the rabbit. Cut in quarters. And then some herbs that you like, salt, pepper… and let it cook about 20 minutes more or less. In Spain we eat it all the time. Is really good and very healthy because has no fat . Maybe if you never taste it before it can be “uncomfortable “ to eat. But I highly recommend it. You also can look at Spanish recipes online. There’s thousand ways to make it. Cheers!

Re the rabbit: Traveling in Belgium some years back and I had rabbit stew made with rabbits and sour cherry beer. It was absolutely delicious - the meat was tender, a little more chewy than chicken and with a hint of gaminess to it. I'd definitely have it again with no reservations.

There's a place on Getwell Road in Memphis where you can sometimes buy rabbit out of a van in the parking lot by the O'Reilly's.

Hey y'all ! I think if grandma made the rabbit for y'all it would be a nostalgic gift for her.. ask and see if she's up for it or at least for telling someone how to do it. Make sure she gets a taste

I had rabbit once when I was in 7th grade. My mom cooked it. She's a terrible cook and doesn't know how to season anything. (She can bake though). It tasted kind of like chicken thigh if I recall correctly.
