Was wondering if you guys have seen The Walking Dead? I would be a great long running show reaction when you have the space and time. At face value its a zombie show, but deep down its so much more it shows the horrors and sacrifices people have to make dealing with such apocalypse. It includes action, drama, emotions, heartbreak, gore and so much more. I love when reactors react to it and Ive been watching your guys content and think you guys would really enjoy it.

In real life Billy Kimber the man the blinders kill was the top gangster in the country, He died of natural causes in Torquay in the forties. The peaky blinders on the other hand were small time,they were indeed little more than a gang of what we call today muggers

To put into perspective how serious the stealing of the guns really is: At that time machineguns were not only military ONLY but also somewhat rare (they issued 4 of them per 800 men but it increased to 300 per 800 men in 1919). The equivalent today would be if a criminal gang stole 25 infantry fighting vehicles (like Bradley's or Marder's). Imagine hearing on the news that gangs known for murder suddenly had access to what is essentially 25 miniature tanks. Side note; RIP Aunt Polly's actress

The best thing about Tommy Shelby, he’s not a huge man, muscles everywhere or aggressive and shouting all the time, it’s just his intelligence, body language, tonality and his ability to keep silent at the right time, just makes him incredibly powerful in any situation

The little black ball that Tommy was smoking, before he had the war dream/memory, was raw opium. Remember, it, especially in it's refined form Morphine, was user a lot in WW1. In fact it was only in 1916 that it actually became illegal for the public to possess it, in the UK, thus in 1919 it would have been a very common street drug, especially used by a lot of soldiers who had fought in the war (one would suspect).

Hope you guys recognized the law and order guy, its Sam Neil, legendary New Zealand actor. Huge filmography that dates back to the 80s and later on the well known Jurassic Park movies. Insane actor, so underrated ! The casting is honestly mindblowing on this tv series.

The IRA is the Irish Republican Army, an early version here in 1919. In later years they famously evolved to include bombings in Northern Ireland. The funny "Derry Girls" series is set in that era.

They also planted bombs on the mainland. My fathers cousin was killed defusing one of their bombs in London. Also the song Zombies by the Irish group the Cranberries is about the two young children killed by an IRA bomb planted in a Litter Bin in Warrington. But don't forget the other side, the Protestants were just as bad they just didn't plant bombs in England.

One of my absolute favorite aspects of this show, though there are many, is the soundtrack. In addition to a bunch of great picks from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (like the theme), you've also got PJ Harvey, Radiohead, David Bowie, Joy Division, Black Sabbath, and a bunch of projects featuring Jack White and Josh Homme. Absolutely phenomenal and badass track listing throughout the whole show.

Tommy's brilliance is one of his best traits. However, it was when he saved his friend that won me over. In every mob movie ever, in this situation, they really do kill their friend. Tommy is a cut above!

If you're a Cillian Murphy fan, I would advise everyone to see what is his best (imo) movie; The Wind that Shakes the Barley. I highly highly recommend it. Set in the same period as Peaky Blinders in Ireland, it's about the Irish Civil War. One of my all time favorites and in my opinion one of the best movies ever made

40:50 Pudgey is seeing right through Tommy. Part of his philosophy is: "I should have died in the war, ever new day is extra". He does not fear death, but he doesn't know how much "extra time" he has. So he takes big risks and makes the most of it.

I believe Winston Churchill was Secretary of State for War at the time of episode 1 set in 1919. You should definitely catch up on who the IRA are/were as it will come up a lot and it will help you keep up with what's happening... Aunt Polly is awesome lol

Tommy and his men were sappers their job was to tunnel into enemy trenches creating a safe route to attack. These poor men dug through mud and bodies often meeting enemy's underground and fighting them at arms length in the dark It was a hellish brutal job even by the standards of WWI none of those who survived were remotely sane. Tommy kept himself and his men alive using his wits and ruthlessness. He no longer fears anything because he's been to hell and knows he's going back someday.
