You've seen the Mountain before. He killed his own horse because it was distracted by Loras's horse being in heat at the joust. Ned sent Beric Dondarrion after him because he was terrorizing the Riverlands in season one (although we may not have seen any of that). I think he was at Harrenhal when Tywin and Arya were there too.

Yeah a big problem with recognizing Mountain is there was no consistency all the way until this season. 1 actor portrayed him in S1 then another in S2 and the 3rd and final actor portrayed him from here on out. So if I'm not mistaken because I don't remember him in S3 he had 3 actors in just as many seasons.

Jaime actually accomplished alot of feats when in knighthood. At 15 years he rode out with his hero Arthur Dayne and a couple of other knights and managed to go toe to toe with the smiling knight who was a skilled fighter and known as the mountain of Jaime's childhood, he saved a Lord from getting his head smashed in and of course was the youngest to be knighted to the kingsguard in history. And of course there was his battle with Rob Stark in which he was able to slay a dozen of Robs men and almost kill him himself if his sword didn't get lodged in someone's skull. But I guess some people didn't see the need to fill out the deeds of a knight who stabbed his kimg in the back

🥰Oberon is a wonderful character - I'm excited that you are familiar with the actor and know you'll enjoy his role in GoT a lot. One of my favorite uses of symbolism is how this episode is bookended with the reforging of Ice, Ned's sword, and the reclamation of Needle by Arya. So many other two-swords nuances in other scenes as well.

Oberyn’s sister was married to Dany’s older brother Rhaegar, the Prince to the Mad King. He was married to her and had kids but then Rhaegar fell for Ned’s sister and took her and that started the whole war of Starks, Baratheons, and Lannisters going against Dany’s family and ultimately killing the mad king and Robert becoming king. So this is the same story they have been talking about since season 1, we just never got to know the Martels. But yeah when the Lannisters sacked the kings landing and Jaime killed the mad king, while that was going down the Mountain and Lannister soldiers rushed the castle and killed everyone loyal to the Targaryens and the Mountain killed Oberyn’s sister, the wife of Prince Rhaegar and future queen. And he killed her kids who Rhaegars kids and heirs to the throne behind Rhaegar.

The sword being melted down in the intro was Ned Stark’s, the same blade used to execute Ned himself. It was called “Ice.” The blade was over 6ft long but still lightweight due to it being made of “Valerian Steel.” Think of Black Panther’s metal from Marvel, basically indestructible but ultra lightweight & rare. The same sword Ned used in Season 1 Ep. 1 to execute the Nights Watch runaway. Also wielded by Ned during Robert’s Rebellion & against Sir Arthur Dane, literally the best knight alive at the time. It was wielded by Stark leaders in their family for like 300+ years before Tywin melted it down into two smaller blades.

You've seen the mountain when he cut the head off a horse with his sword during the tournament in season 1 and season 2 when Arya was Tywins cup bearer, he was in the meetings with Tywin.

That sword was Ice. Ned Starks sword. Most of the great families of westeros have a valerian steel sword which is passed through the generations. Ice was the ancestral sword of House Stark. I literally sobbed like a baby when they melted down Ice. Fun fact the Lannisters didn't have an ancestral sword. They really wanted a valerian steel sword. Ice was so large when melted down it had enough steel for 2 swords.

They had an ancestral Valyrian sword, Brightroar, which was lost when Tommen (II) Lannister sailed to the ruins of Valyria to find any treasure there and never returned.

Roman emperor Hadrian made a huge wall all across Scotland, and The Wall is analogy of that wall. The main reason for that wall was to keep wild tribes of the north and prevent them of plundering Roman territory. Some of those tribes were cannibals, as Thenns in GoT. They're disgusting, but cannibalism is a historical fact.

Yo. I hope you loved that build up at the Inn before the action started even though it got cut in the reaction. First Arya & the Hound bantering about naming swords, then with Polliver blabberin on making the Hound "thirsty" and then the chickens back & forth. The Hound basically channeling all introverts in that moment. 🤣

Yes, Arya is dark. Remember, her only god is death. Revenge is a theme that runs through ASOIAF, and GRRM is determined to let us know that even though it sounds fine in theory, and satisfying emotionally, it is dark in practice and diminishes all involved by its end.

😂😅 4:07 ps: yes Daenerys older Brother Rhaegar ( not the stupid one that was killed with the golden crown but the elder brother) was married to Oberin's sister , then Rhaegar was killed by king Robert ,and his wife, Elia ( the sister), was r* and killed by the mountain by the order of tywin lannister .the lannister sand baratheons allied themselves to take down the sitting targarien house along withe the starks and a lot of other northern houses , only Daenerys and Viserys were able to flee all that , the rest you already know .

On Robb's dumb decisions the Starks are pretty sheltered. Even though Robb saw war, he was still young and dumb about certain things. I think his fatal flaw was being too idealistic and when his mother was more traditional he saw it as being naggy. I think Robb and Sansa actually have a ton in common. Arya, Bran, Jon, and even Rickon have been scavenging to survive basically. They've seen people at their absolute worst. That's not to say someone is going through more than the next person but I think Robb and Sansa in the past had a very rosy view of the world. Jon never really had that.

That was ned starks sword in the beginning Jaime doesnt want to be lord of casterly rock because if hes kingsguard then his place is in kings landing with cersei. The only reason he joined the kingsguard was because cersei was supposed to marry Rhaegar and then the mad king rejected the proposal, trapping jaime in kings landing without cersei. He got lucky that cersei married robert and ended up with him in King's landing at the end of the war

sure it looks cool but you can not make a sword like that, cast iron is brittle and weak , the sword would shatter upon contact whit another sword, you have to forge it properly heat it beat it and treat it, never melt it
