Blake - hugs first off. I felt the same exact frustration about the finale of this beloved show. It seemed anti-climactic in my opinion. I felt invested every season till episode 3 of this last season when they battled at Winterfell, but once Cersei was left to deal with and Rhaegal was shot down out of nowhere, I was checked out. Not to say I feel the whole show is tainted because I still love this show. By far, it holds some of the best dialogues and scenes of any show I’ve watched in my adult life, but the last 3 episodes of this last season don’t exist to me. Even after re-watching it over the years, I’ve still come to the same disappointing conclusion. But that’s just me. Keep up the reactions boys! 🫶🏼

Daenerys Targaryen will always be my queen. 🔥❤️🖤 FIRE AND BLOOD🖤❤️🔥 I absolutely hate this season but I truly do appreciate the actors and the behind the scenes crew on set and editing for doing what they could with the sh*t writing they were given. This season truly did give me a good experience with visuals (except for the one episode)and the costumes and cgi on some things. Also I would like to say Drogon is the most loyal character on this show, he had to see his brothers and mother die tragically, but at the very end of it all said f*ck your throne I'm taking my mom and leaving, he protected her, loved her, and understood her. He was always there for his momma.

Not the dumbest line in the show, the truest line in the show, the 3 eyed raven had literally spent over 100 years to get to be King, it was his whole mission, his ultimate end goal, a multiple lifetimes of playing a game of chess, with the cheat code of being able to see the opponents’ moves before they made them. The Rook took out the Queen to get checkmate.

I'm with you Blake. I've never stopped hating this episode. When this season originally aired, there were so many "leaks" and while some of them were real, a lot of them were fake, so when I saw a supposed leak that revealed Bran would be king, I thought it was a hilarious fake leak. I had a bunch of people over for the finale and I'd told them I'd seen the funniest fake leak ever, but when Tyrion said "stories" I realized what was about to happen and full on stood up and walked out of the room at my own party. I don't know what's dumber, deciding on your king based on who has the coolest story, or the leaders of all of the noble families UNANIMOUSLY agreeing to put an unqualified Stark in charge. Maybe the thing I hate most is that after Sansa just declares independence for the North, no one else goes "huh, yeah us too". Really? Yara Greyjoy? Dorne? No one else would like to withdraw from the Kingdoms if it's going to be that easy?? Forever so disappointing

Jon and Jaime deserved so much more. The most interesting character arcs just thrown into the wind. Jaime who had the best redemption arc and was such a multi layered character ends up being crushed by bricks? And Jon? Don't even get me started with Jon, the archnemesis of the Night King and the hidden Prince, the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen not just doesn't get to kill the Night King, but also gets completely f*cked over by everyone and gets sent back to the wall to die out in oblivion as well as house Targaryen with him. Just insanely stupid.
@raymondgraber9629Күн бұрын
Actually there is no nights watch, Bran knows this and he has to do something to satisfy Grayworm so he does not kill Jon. Jon doesn't stay at the wall, he goes north with the wildlings as Bran knew he would. I do agree that Jon should have killed the Night King.
@KatieS8612 сағат бұрын
You guys talking about how Bran was actually a mastermind made me think. Didnt the previous three eyed raven live way longer than a normal human character? Bran is the only living person who knows this (Unless Mira Reed survived somehow). So Bran's accepting the thrown "until his last day" is actually crazy! He would outlive the entire council that elected him and could rewrite the rules for the future to be however he wanted. The council elected Bran thinking they might get maybe 60 years before the next election. But it could be centuries!

i don't think i was happy with a single characters end in this. but for one specific example of bad writing.. it annoys the F out of me with jon going back to the wall.. it was already written so beautifully how your "watch ends" when you die.. and jon did die.. which gave him the out to leave the black and still hold his honour.. him returning to the wall completely destroys that amazing piece of small writing from the story. as a lover of the books that have been out, i really hope the conspiracy of him giving a diff ending to d&d is true.. but i doubt he's going to be finishing up the books at this point either way, which sucks.

Let's think about this for a moment. Bran is King of the 6 Kingdoms. He accepted the Norths recession from the fold. Bran charged Jon with the Nights Watch...a force that once operated in a territory that Bran no longer has dominion of. The King literally can't banish people to the wall as watchmen. Jon can't be King of the North because the King of the 6 Kingdoms stripped him of titles and land...Somehow that means the North even though they are independent. Jon can literally go be the King in the North and Bran holds 0 authority over it given the North no longer falls within his rule. The North can easily elect a person exiled from the South as King. In essence, Bran banned Jon from residing in the North Kingdom despite the fact that he doesn't have the authority to make that call. The Nights Watch doesn't exist anymore, with the assumption that their purpose has been met, Jon can make the Nights Watch whatever he pleases, or whatever Sansa demands given she is the Queen of the North and would oversee the border where the Nights Watch is stationed. Jon goes beyond the wall which doesn't fall in line with the purpose of the Nights Watch to keep the wall defended from attacks via Wildlings and White Walkers assuming their same duty is implied. Children of the Forest were never confirmed to have been wiped out, meaning creating another Night King is entirely possible. So Jon obeys banishment but doesn't follow what his role as a member of the Nights Watch demands despite the fact that the Night King's death does not mean that White Walkers won't ever attack again. Children of the Forest are still in hiding up North and have every reason to create a better controlled Night King to wage war against men. It's like nobody who read or wrote this script bothered to consider the implications from any decisions being made here.

Here's the thing, Dany was always supposed to get there. I know it's hard for her fans to realise it but them liking her rise was always sort of the point in that she is built like a messiah but the turn is she will become a villain cause of that messiah complex. She wants to build a better World but the concept of her is "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions". The Throne is like the ring in LOTR in that no matter what it will corrupt you. She wanted to free people and get the Throne to do it but in the end the Throne won out over the people. Bear in mind the writers were horrible in getting her there. But that was always the plan. Like the idea of her slaughtering after she had won the battle was just stupid. They could have created a real conflict where people outright rejected her. And then she had a decision to make in a brief span out of time. But they didn't do that.
@elizabethstrong6057Күн бұрын
I always laugh when Bran says, why do you think i came all this way. I really don't think he was manipulating his way to breathing king; he just had seen the future and knew what was coming. Just like he knew Theon would die protecting him and give Arya enough time to kill the Night King. I disagree with Cersei's death. The prophecy was that she'd die with her brother's hands on her throat. I long guessed it would be Jaime and not Tyrion, but i fully expected she would be strangled by him, not embraced. So disappointing lol
@Penddraig712 сағат бұрын
He was, that was his sole purpose, over a century of manipulation to get to the very point where he was make the King, it was exactly what he wanted and so hence the line, which is probably the most truthful line in the show, he played the longest of long games and succeeded, got exactly what he wanted

King Bran came from GRRM, King Bran was always the plan, and King Bran will happen in the books (if we ever get them). Unfortunately the show was never gonna be as good as the books and many characters and plots were never done justice. In the books 'King Bran' will be done right and make sense, and there are actually quite a lot of clues and symbolism pertaining to 'King Bran' in the books, some on the surface, some between the lines, and some only within the deep lore.

I believe it ended how it was supposed to, but the writers didn't get it to that point. I said from the beginning that Dany would become the mad queen, but they made her that in one episode, which didn't make sense. I believe Bran was supposed to become king, but they didn't know how to write that part correctly. I think blood raven from the books has that part in Bran becoming king, but dumb and dumber didn't write that part of story, so it didn't make sense. If they didn't want to go on with the show, they should of handed it off to different writers. Also, HBO should of taken it from them. They really deserve their careers ruined for taking the best show on TV and destroying it. GRRM needs to fix it, but he's getting just as bad by putting all the blame on everyone else instead of writing an ending we can get on board with.

I'm with Blake here guys. The amount of stupidity piling up step after step in this episode is properly representing this season. Grey Worm teleporting ahead of Jon, Drogon understanding symbolism so he burns the chair, literally everything about Bran, why Tyrion decides who will be king wasn't he supposed to be a prisoner? Grey Worm knows absolutely nothing about Westeros but he is fine with Jon going to the Wall as a punishment as if he knows what the F that means. Arya going West to further emphasize how useless her entire arc and her training has been and where the F was Jon going beyond the wall anyway? Ghawd I hate everything about this episode lol. That scene between the siblings was indeed nice tho. @ Blake At least there is one thing that makes me really happy. D&D didn't get their Star Wars trilogy, the reason they've rushed the last two seasons. They didn't get to fuck up SW with their incompetent writing, KK was perfectly capable to do that without their help.
@penguincgm489Күн бұрын
Blake looks like he's suffering throughout the reaction except for the master of grammar part😂 Personally, I don't mind the Bran became King, but when Tyrion said it's the story and told Bran's story, it should be cool but it doesn't really sell it for me, so it felt weird to me. For Sansa, I think she does want to be queen, but she never takes it over her family or people in the line, likr when Jon was king, she helped him, when Bran's back, she's ready to give up the lady of Winterfell bcs by right he's the lord of Winterfell now. She didn't propose herself when they were choosing a king/queen, she only did what Robb and the north has been wanting since Robb was at war, the dependance for the north. And she was in the best position to negotiate for that, the north has sacrificed so much and the king is her brother who's also northerner, but I agree with Igli, I don't like her crown😂
@gladiscontreras758922 сағат бұрын
I understand the writers wanting to go with the whole “mad” queen thing but they needed more time. Up until she decided to burn all those innocent people, she was still good. Every decision she had made seemed fair to me, I mean we cant just expect her to always spare people in a war. Maybe if there was like one more season where we saw her really do cruel things then I would have liked the ending more. ALSO bran had said before that he didn’t want to be king or wasn’t supposed to be king but then suddenly he says “why do you think I came here”???

Aboht Dany, I do agree with Blake. I think if they want her to become mad queen, they could have write a better story for it. I understand that there are already some signs, losses and betrayal that lead her to this point, but I remember watching it for the first time and be like.. What? She suddenly became mad? If they really put an effort into it, if we have more episode, her story might have been sad and tragic but in a good way like a good villian origin, but this felt rush and looks like bad writing to me.

Stupidest ending and dialogue of any show I've ever seen. Sansa: "The north will remain a separate kingdom". Everyone else says sure, why not? Instead of a more realistic response. Bran the broken has the best story???? Hah! He's the one character that D &D had no idea what to do with so Bran did absolutely nothing as the Three Eyed Raven. Davos suggesting that Eunuchs go somewhere and start their own house?? How if they can't father children?? Just a piece of crappy work. ETA: that's besides the stupid lines they gave people. Arya "I know a killer when I see one" (After Dany slaughtered a city). If John said She is/you are my queen one more time, i think i would've vomited because that's 80% of his dialogue for the last few episodes. Where did his brain go? Besides the fact that she gave her speech in another language to the troops, How the heck did John, Tyrian, Arya and everyone else understand what she said? WHO was the Quality Assurance person who reviewed the script and story line??!!

Besides, we've got some Star Wars to work on and a pile of money to roll around in." I wish I could make more jokes about Drogon melting the throne but it's so painfully stupid to me how the dragons were portrayed as mindless animals the entire show and it is only at the very end here Drogon gains the ability to mourn bodies or decide to destroy political symbology to achieve a lasting goal. Thank god Igli's reaction seemed unprejudiced and wasn't afraid to point out the scenes he enjoyed and his overall nuanced opinion about the episode. Daenerys is my favorite character too. I wasn't too happy first time watching season 8 as well. But I have seen all of GoT dozens of times since then, and I came to like Daenerys villain arc. And if you're open to it. You see that her motives were always more egocentrical than altruistic. She wanted power, she wanted to be worshipped, and breaking the wheel was only secondary to that. And she did plenty of bad shit in previous seasons as well. To me, Daenerys is the best, most nuanced, most fleshed out villain in the history of television. RIP.

We can all agree that season 8 definitely needed more work, but we can still give Game of Thrones it's flowers for being by far one of the GREATEST series on tv. I don't feel the ending should ruin its legacy.

Too late for that. Now every GoT related property has a black cloud hanging over it because of the ending being trash, until there’s a good adaptation of GRRMs work that black cloud will never go away

I’m not bothered that Dany burned down the city. She had many losses and betrayals, and her best friend and advisor’s last words were Dracarys! If the stupid show runners wanted to film Kings Landing’s destruction, they should have had it taken over by the White Walkers, and then Dany & Drogon could come in and burn it down. Very stupid to ruin such a loved character. Sansa becoming Queen in the North was a joke. Arya not being assassinated by the Faceless Men was weak. I seriously hated her threatening Yara, who was rightfully loyal to Dany. Bran becoming King laughable. Pretty bad finale all around, but visually stunning.
