Even in Season 1 when Jon took his vow at the Night's Watch in it he said he , " would wear no crowns" Foreshadowing. I agree though, he should have been King. The one who doesn't seek power is usually the best type of ruler, so saying he doesn't want it is pointless. He was a leader. That being said there was a ton of foreshadowing that 1) Jon wouldn't be King 2) Dany was like her father the Mad King and would go mad herself 3) that Bran would be King. Everyone likes to act as if they ruined the show in season 8, but in reality if you picked up the clues it was there all along. I knew since Dany watched her brother die in season 1 that she was no heroine. No tears either. I said it then to my husband, "oh, she's going to go full Mad Queen one day." Heroes don't act the way she did even to their enemies.

The way Varys described serving for so many kings, more than anyone, and being very intellectual and knowledgeable about history and understanding that every king he had witnessed and learned about always loved the idea of being King. Maybe some were less greedy and prideful than others but still seemed to be a thing that was common in all. EXCEPT Jon Snow. He truly didn’t want it. Yet he always acted like a true king. Unlike Dany who was full of pride and entitlement only because of her last time. Even with Jon knowing the truth about himself, he still didn’t want it and Varys recognized him as the true king not because of his birth right either but because of his character. Jon hated to be violent, Dany just cared about how she would be looked at because of it but Jon truly didn’t want that on his soul. He was all the right qualities not just for a king but to be the very best of them all. WHY DID THEY MESS UP THE ENDING SO MUCH, like why?? Even with the same amount of episodes they could have at the very least stay on track with everything but instead decided to wipe their behinds with all those years of hard work and dedication and give us something worse than an elementary kid could dish out. Because Drogon knew Jon had killed her right after he did. But he still didn't kill Jon. Instead he burnt the throne. Because he knew that power had killed Dany. Not Jon.

I never understood why Jon's real name was Aegon. Lannan knew Rhaegar already had 2 children, including a son named Aegon already. Why give him the same name?
@vlredreign2 жыл бұрын
That is a show thing. However...remember that Lyanna is a Stark. The stronger ones have warging abilities. We're told that she has 'wolf blood'. It is possible that she and Rhaegar intended to name Jon another Targaryen name; Aemon, perhaps, after Maester Aemon, Rhaegar's favorite uncle. But perhaps in her labors, when her guard would be down, she 'saw' baby Aegon being murdered, and therefore the name was available for the taking. Just a random thought.

Cause Rhaegar always believed in a prophecy where his son would be named Aegon and would do great things, and since his first son was not turning into that, he thought that Lyana’s son would be the right one
@blkprophet76852 жыл бұрын
@May lovely the prophecy never specifies anyone named Aegon... And really, it's immaterial. I'm just wondering why name Jon Aegon when Rhaegar already had a son with the same name. And even if Lyanna got wind that the Mountain had killed baby Aegon and Rhaenys, isn't it a little sick to name your newborn after his deceased half brother?
@TheCdathomas Жыл бұрын

Ned doesn't get enough credit. Arthur Dane is the greatest swordsman to ever live and he stood his ground. Yeah, he was losing but still, that's an accomplishment. And Dane knowing he was going to die protecting his king from Robert was badass. "I wish you good fortune in the wars to come" if he thought he was walking out he would have just said battle. He knew it was a losing fight and he still gave his life. I'd love to see Dane in his prime vs Jamie in his prime. That would be an epic fight
