It’s more of a hissing bellow, since reptiles, cannot actually roar unlike mammals but the closest thing that a reptile can make do a roar is a very loud bellow

​​@@Oppositebreak, it's a dragon, it's not real (even though I've wished many times that they were, though probably that would cause many problems), we can't say how they would be if they were, such great, majestic, giant and winged fire-breathing reptiles don't exist, maybe they would have the capacity to roar, depending on whether their race would have the biological capacity to do it, thus in fantasy we make them roar many times depending on the dragon, maybe they would roar if they were real too, also how we depict dragons varies, in some cases (in fact in many) we don't depict them as simple but very big animals, but as far more intelligent and conscious, rational creatures more akin to humans capable of speech, like in the Lord of the Rings, a thing that normal animal reptiles aren't capable of, so obviously in these cases they have the biological capacity to do it, to talk and to roar, to produce different sounds since talking like a human with intelligible speech that others like us could understand and roaring like a great fearsome beast would be different sounds

This pales significantly in comparison to the original. All the body has been removed leaving a dull, dissatisfying “hiss” instead of Drogon’s” incredibly imposing, roar.

The actual difference between dragon and wyverns in mythology, is that dragons breath fire while wyverns were generally venomous.

No it's a dragon....GRR Martian had the dragons in Game of Thrones and House of The Dragon look like that because it's more realistic No vertebrate animal has ever had 6 limbs, wings count as limbs, so a 6 limbed dragon wouldn't fit his world, which yes it is fantasy, but it's more grounded in reality as there isn't really any magic in both series either, there's some weird powers certain characters have but that's it

If an author says that their big, flying creature is a dragon, then it is one. Mythology is pretty inconsistent with dragon descriptions anyway.

There is no such thing as "dragon mythology" there is no definition, it is just different interpretations, the author of a given work defines what a dragon is no matter what it looks like, There is no "dragon looks like this". The Dragon has whatever shape the author wants, there is no universal bestiary of creatures that do not exist
