Maybe watching alone for the first time is good, but I really want to watch it with someone, if that person has never watched it and knows nothing about GoT. That would be fun, I mean watching Ned's execution, Red Wedding, Hold the Door, For the Watch and other scenes with someone who has never seen them, and watching their reaction. I would pay money to do that with someone

@@OroborusFMA yah i have watched season 8 once as it premiered. I won't watch it again ever i think. Same! All the joy I was supposed to feel for the death of the HS was just overshadowed by Margaery's fate. I think it was kind of unfair how she died even though she was smart enough to notice Cersei's plan. Usually when people die in the show is due to a wrong move, but she stayed clever until the end and it sucks because it was a being in the wrong place at the wrong time kind of situation.

@m00nm00n8 жыл бұрын
yeah same here. Then watching this video how they cheer when she got blown up, plus the clapping for Cersei...bleh
@sureqthirtyseven8 жыл бұрын
I think the cheering was more for the High Sparrow's demise. I was hoping Margaery would live too and didn't realise it till she died. I had a weird sensation of opposing tugs of emotion for that scene. I love watching a good villain and so love Cersei's scenes, she is selfish, knows what she wants, will go to great lengths to get it and cares for her family. Margaey is the same she just never got her hands as "dirty" as Cersei has. So Margaery is very similar to Cersei this way. I think Margaery was even smarter than Cersei really, she just didn't have the power or ability to see just how low Cersei could sink to get what she wants. I can't imagine Margaery being stupid enough to giving power to someone like the High Sparrow for starters. So that scene was +1 for the demise of the hypocrite High Sparrow and his awful religious police but -1 for the demise of Margaery and Ser Loras.

Margery was brilliant. She was extremely intelligent (i mean just look at this episode, she saw through Cercei's plan and tried to save everyone, but they wouldn't let her) and a master of manipulation who did everything she could in order to gain power. I mean, she had both Joffrey and Tommen in her hand, was beloved by the people. She never actively harmed anyone on her was to the throne. She just didn't care when it happend around her (like when Renly was killed) because these people were tools for her. Everyone but Loras. Also she never was openly hateful to anyone as Cercei was, which is why I think many underestimated her. It made her ascent to power easier for her. I always would have claimed that Margery was better at playing the game of thrones than Cercei was, but I guess the outcome proves me wrong.
@TheLoonu6 жыл бұрын
Velvane No that's not true. She did care for what happened around her. She cared for tyion for example when Jofrey bullied him at the wedding, and I think matgery cared for Renly, especially since it was her brother's lover.

that moment when you cheer seeing cersei murder their own civilian + members of the royal houses, but you are very upset when you see Dany burning King's Landing after she lost almost all because of Cersei, their loverboy and his family
@AndyMatts442 жыл бұрын
That would not be a moment. It's two moments separated by about four years. And, really, taking out dozens of one's murderous scheming political rivals doesn't really compare with slaughtering thousands of regular citizens who were only in the city to try and find shelter from the war. But other than that, excellent comparison.

@@AndyMatts44 Well Missandei did say Dracarys. And the Dragon, Dany, GreyWorm trio remembered it. Cersei used people as her shield. And innocents of Kings Landing? The same innocents who threw shit on Cersei , cheered Ned Stark's beheading, enjoyed Sandor Clegane's tournaments. I think they got a good cleansing. People had an option to go against Cersei. When a villian does nefarious things that's obviously expected from them. This scene was shot brilliantly, the cinematography, music, pacing and Lena Headey's acting was the reason why everyone cheered for this scene. She's a villian so people know what to expect from her. But Dany was a hero for everyone, in every season she used to lecture people on morality. So when she burned everyone in kings landing people were shocked and betrayed by her actions. So why would anyone cheer for Dany?? People who like Heroes turning into Villians must have cheered for her.

If you go watch something in a public event, one should know it will be noisy, believing otherwise is foolish. That's why I wouldn't go and watch such a popular show, where you have to concentrate on what they are saying with a bunch of random people, because you can't shush everyone, the vibe of the place will just turn bad real quick.

***** In a bar I would think so…Because in a cinema there is the unspoken rule to keep quiet or talk profoundly quieter, in a bar there is no such rule I find. But maybe you might be right it's for the camera also, but if so, that is what they made as normal in the bar. So for someone like us to go there and shush when they cheer, might not know their costumes.

If you don't understand why people cheer for evil and good characters, you shouldn't be watching game of thrones. The point of the show is to play the game. You win or die. Those who make an incredible play, like Cersei did, deserve an applause. She killed some of our favorite characters, and is one of the most fucked up and murderous characters on the show, but you can not doubt she just did one of the most successful plays in the game. In fiction, it's important to appreciate the existence of both good, evil, and mixed characters and how they give live and death to the story. Stop being so judgmental, as if the only way to enjoy the show is "your" way. Some people, like myself, don't have to love all the characters, but at least respect their existence in the narrative. Sorry not sorry.

A dumb move? Marrying Talisa was a dumb move. Blowing the Sept of Baelor was the best way possible to end the reign of the Sparrow. Cersei did what she had to do, just because the people will fear her more than love her doesn't mean she will go down. And, yes, the show is going to keep its integrity as it always had, and will portray next season how that Walk of Atonement changed Cersei's character. That is writing, that is professionnal. Your critics are meaningless.

I literally cheered when Tommen did that. Not that I think he's a bad character, but I was proud of how he chooses to end his life rather than live with his deranged mother after all that she's done. Plus it was the only way to get back at Cersei at that moment. It made me proud. Although, now that all of her kids are gone, she has nothing left to loose and that makes her even more scarier.

He barely wanted to 'rule' the Night's Watch after he was stabbed. -.- He belongs in the North, and unless Dany marries him and comes to live in the North (not going to happen), they're better left alone. They can have an alliance without marrying; they're both reasonable people. But either way, one of them's going to die at the end. My bet's on Daenerys.

People who know somebody who isn't interested... i guarantee they would be if they actually sat and watched the first 3-4 episodes. I learnt from many other things that if you keep hearing about something because of how good it is... it's for a reason, don't be so ignorant. Get through the first 2-4 episodes of GoT which is manly character and storyline introduction and you will get hooked... i've never seen people so many people come together and react like this... every single one of them GASPING, it's amazing, no show has a bigger cult following.

I still to date consider the sorrow of Tommen's death to be the crowning achievement of GoTs in terms of shock deaths. On one hand, intellectually we know based in the text of the story that Cersei will bring ruin to her family (she does, even Tyrion killing Tywin was facilitated by her choices), so I know Tommen's death is going to happen. But the way it was shot, him stepping away to put away his crown (the sound of his shoes soft and melancholy) and then the sound of his shoes returning this time with confidence, poise, and steady rythmn... the completely silent background, then just watching him smoothly step up and fall out... I audibly gasped. Game of Thrones has had some truly shocking and heartbreaking deaths in it, I mean even early I think Margarey's death is more punchy (in large part because she and an entire crowd of people are being killed)... but Tommen and Olenna are the only characters who with in their scenes die alone... by themselves. Its lonely, its poignant, and above all else I was genuinely heartbroken and audibly gasped... the only time in the show's run where in shouted at my TV while watching it.
