What I love about Brienne of Tarth is that she is the only stereotypical honourable knight in shining armour on the show. Hey Amber, not sure if you noticed, but the new Night’s Watch recruit that volunteered to go with Jon is Locke. He is the guy that serves Roose Bolton and chopped off Jaime’s hand. Introducing, the Night King. The "ruler" of the White Walkers. He was spotted briefly in Bran's vision last episode. But makes his first appearance of the show in this one. He is as if Darth Maul and Elsa had a baby. 🤣 At least those were the memes back when this season aired. You could call him the show's actual and true villain since he represents ice and death. But this is a show filled with many villains. You have the human ones, and now you have one of the magical ones. You're gonna have to wait a few seasons to know if your theory about Joffrey's murderer is correct. It's a giant game of Clue. One thing to add if it hasn't been said already is that Ralph Ineson who played one of Theon's lackeys and Kate Dickie who plays Lysa Arryn (Catelyn's sister) were in a great movie together called The Witch. Everybody missed it. You can rewatch the scene but you really see nothing. It isn't until later when it's revealed how it happened, that you realise. You are talking from the pov of someone who has rewatched the show. But you have forgotten what it was like to have certain things revealed to you over multiple episodes. You think you can see what Olenna did because you were told. But in the scene itself; you can't tell. Because you don't know what to look for until 3 episodes later when the trial begins. Careful with trying to be helpful. It is often a spoiler. The show was purposely directed and written this way.

It doesn't make sense to me that they needed Sansa to unknowingly bring the poison to the wedding feast. No one was going to give Lady Olenna a pat-down, so she could just as well have brought it herself. And even if the point was to frame Sansa and Tyrion for it, the only piece of evidence for that disappeared when Sansa did. And from Littlefinger's (who clearly was in on tthe plan) perspective, Sansa didn't need to be convinced that she was an accomplice in the murder to be persuaded to leave. She didn't find out until after.

When Daenery speaks Valyrian, we get to read subtitles. But it was David Peterson who created this fictitious language. He has a translation of words and phrases from Valyrian to English. He mentioned, when Daenery gives her dragon to the Master of Unsullied, they spoke different dialects of Valyrian. She speaks the language like a true Targaryen. I have to admit, Targaryen women can get unpredictable and a little crazy.
@Square-ow7oq6 күн бұрын
How exactly do you know that about targaryan women? I don't understand
@GullibleTarget6 күн бұрын
Dany speaks Classical Valerian. High Valerian. The Targaryens did their best to keep their old native tongue after the doom but after a generation, most of them spoke Westerosi as a first language and learned High Valerian from books. Before the Doom the language had already evolved in vulgate Valerian like in Volantis and actual distinct languages, such as Pentoshi..High Valerian died out as a spoken language but it became more of a language of status but also liturgical with set rules and a certain status akin to classical Latin in our world where medieval royals were still taught howvto speak classical Latin. All three free cities of Mereen,,Astapor and Yunkai have their own language. They don't speak a dialect. The languages are at the same stage as early French and Spanish or Portuguese: with a Latin root but barely mutually intelligible. Astapori is closest to classical Valerian which is why Dany can understand what Grey Worm is saying. But in the books: she had difficulty understanding Mereenese but the Mereneese could easily understand her when she spoke Valerian. Spoiler warning. In later episodes, Dany addresses locals in High Valerian but Missandei still has to translate what the locals said in their Vulgate Valerian language.

Thank you! Why is the retaliator always expected to show mercy when the aggressor would never do the same? Granted she could’ve at least had trials for them but even that was something not given to the slaves.
@GullibleTarget4 күн бұрын
@toomuchsauce5599 because the retaliator can end the cycle of violence and cruelty or perpetuate it under a new set of morals and norms they deem righteous. Dany is no retaliator. She is a conqueror and a liberator. A real leader seeks to unite,not create a new divide. And for that, you need to re-educate and lead by example. You don't do it by killing. it takes time and temperance. Retaliation is reactionary. That only begets more violence.
@toomuchsauce55994 күн бұрын
@ i’m going to sound a bit mad, but first to explain myself, initially I was going with “good guys” instead of retaliators. In hindsight it did distort my meaning a bit because with good guys I meant Dany but with retaliators I meant the slaves. Aggressors was also “bad guys” and that was more or less of what I was trying to say. Anyways, I will give you props because you put it beautifully(no sarcasm intended) and idealistically a “real leader” would go about it in the way you put it. However, much for the same reason I didn’t use “good vs bad” spiel, this situation is more complex and I can only see your resolution work if everyone involved had the same or a similar degree of honor, morality, or sense of justice. It’d require the entire population to want to change, to want unite, to want to re-educate themselves. Most importantly it would require consistency with its leaders. That said, in mimicking real life, consistency is the least likely outcome in situations like these and I feel like most characters on here are quite aware of it, even if it’s more on a sub-conscience level. I guess what I’m trying to say is even if I believe giving them trials would’ve been sufficient, I can’t really blame Dany because at the root of it, 163 children were brutally tortured to death. In that aspect, even giving them trials I feel like I’m being too lenient, as these children weren’t afforded the same. I want to be clear, I do believe violence only brings on more violence, but I also believe when mercy is only dispensed by one side can have far more detrimental consequences.
@GullibleTarget4 күн бұрын
@toomuchsauce5599 you are overthinking about how you come across and equating one thing with another. Dont worry about how you come across; you're fine! Its okay for us to discuss! 😃 you are polite and if I thought you weren't; we wouldn't be talking. Here's my pov: See Dany as the USA coming to Vietnam to liberate the Vietnamese from communism. Or when the USA started the Gulf War, or, invaded Iraq or invaded Afghanistan. I already made my point about conquerors waltzing in and exacting justice on a slave system that for centuries was deemed lawful. You want to show tyrants how to not be tyrants; You don't do that by being one. we all have our own viewpoints and you should not feel worried or bad about your own You don't have to be. You strike me as someone who thinks deeply over the things they find interesting. My second point; there is the risk of going into false equivalency when you equate the death of 163 children in a fantasy show to cases in our real modern and (presumably) western world. Notice how I didn't use the word murdered. Because to the fictional Mereenese, the Yunkai and Astapori; they were doing something according to their laws and customs. I myself descend from slaves and when I read about my history, it makes my blood boil. I would like to see justice for my ancestors. But how? Kill all white descendants of slave masters? So I look at leaders who did affect change without violence. Look at what happened when Nelson Mandela was elected president after the abolition of Apartheid. He didnt start a retribution campaign. He sought reconciliation. That is a real world example of how you can end injustice from within. I'm not trying to change your mind. We are having an exchange from different viewpoints. And I enjoy a bit of healthy discourse. Especially when it's about a tv show. As for my 3d point: a society that has only known state mandated and legal violence for centuries, will respond with violence, when violence is what they are dealt with by an invading foreign liberation army. There is no justification for the millions of people who went before the 163. If Dany wants to send out a message that the new order starts with violence: she will get violence back. Because thats all those people have known for centuries. So you have to bring them something new. A new order. A new way.
@toomuchsauce55994 күн бұрын
@@GullibleTarget explaining myself wasn’t about how I came across to anyone, it was a response to your comment about Dany not being a retaliator. You were right in that she’s not a retaliator, and I knew that before you pointed it out. I just hadn’t thought about it since I tend not proofread my comments. That said, the Vietnam comparison was very enlightening and gave me a better understanding of what you trying to say about conquerers. To be honest, my perspective was coming more from the slaves l than it was from Dany. Don’t get me wrong, I never thought what Dany did was right, and in trying to see it from the Mereenese people I can see how much worse it actually was. For the longest I couldn’t get past the 163 children not just because they were children but because how they were executed. Looking back at the scene where the masters were being nailed to the cross I kept thinking about how they did the same to children. For that reason alone, I could never try to even put myself in their shoes, never taking into consideration that not all of the Mereenese people were as cruel as the ones committing those horrendous acts. I thought about my ancestors and the devastating consequences, conquerers had on our land. It’s a bit different because my people were mostly wiped out due to diseases carried from across the other side of the world and there’s less empathy when you consider the rituals of sacrificing others my people had. Nonetheless, the possibility of change without violence is encouraging and as you pointed it out can be done. All that said, what makes me differentiate Dany from most other conquerers is her intentions. While most conquerer’s quest stems from greed and power, hers comes from wanting to free slaves. This is not to excuse how she went about it because it was cruel of her to do that to the masters. Getting back to mercy, my people didn’t necessarily give “mercy” as much they were forced and coerced into giving it, while the conquerers gave very little and because of it we were nearly wiped out. I read our history and how there were many instances where my people welcome the conquerers only to be massacred when their guards were down. One of the most known incidents was when Hernan Cortez met the Aztec emperor Moctezuma. You can make the case that had my people had the same type of weapons the invaders had, we would’ve retaliated back violently more often than not and you may be right. However not being able to retaliate with the same type of violent methods that was dispensed to them, nearly wiped them out entirely. To further my explain my devotion to Dany, there’s a line she gives that changed my perspective of her entirely and it’s a line that became the most significant of the entire series. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a guy but I almost automatically go to the viewpoint of the men around her and the men at the time were the unsullied. It’s during her speech after conquering Astapor and she tells them: “you have been slaves all of your lives, today you are free”.

Very few reactors seem to pick up on this, at least on the first watch. (And despite watching it numerous times, I've only just noticed him saying something about losing his right hand!!!)

"They deserved that"?So it was ok for Dani to nail up the masters even the ones who were not a part of it?Not a great idea lumping all of them into one group to judge.

Hey Amber, Can you please let us know what's happening with the Rob Squad music channel? We all seem to have been left in limbo. No disrespect intended ❤

The Movie channel has been few and far between, as well. They live busy lives with kids and Jay has a TV reaction channel, too.

@brianmcmaster5112 No its more than that. They found time to start different channels afterwards

@Shellgrit It's not really any of my business, lol.

@brianmcmaster5112 No their private life isn't I get that. But to ask people to subscribe to their channel which has a huge following and then just stop without any comment is just a bit disrespectful

@Shellgrit They have lives, man. They dropped videos just a couple days ago. I've been subscribed to all the channels, save RSR since day one. Trust me, it's frustrating, but I'm not going to be mad at them about it, lol. They will post stuff when they can and want. Personally, I am enjoying these GoT reactions.
