+Jr Bear you should watch the Game of Thrones lore videos. They're about an hour long and come with the bluray release of each season. They give good insight in to past events that you'll often hear the show refer to. Well animated and voiced by the cast of the show (season 5 covers the dance of dragons. It's the best so far, awesome is an understatement). I only just discovered them but they're good to use when I need a GOT fix. I think they're on KZbin as well, but you should as well buy the DVDs too (support the show and all)

I heard and awesome theory about Hodor. I believe Hodor was instructed to "HOLD THE DOOR" to protect Lyanna. He got hurt holding the door and since he was born with a simple mind, I think when he got hurt to the point of him repeating "Hold the door" and it just evolved into HODOR.

I would just like to point out that I think people are forgetting something long implied in the show. Greenseers can communicate by being part of nature. It is something Osha told Bran in Season 1. To listen to the wind and open his ears to hear the gods answer his prayers. The Three Eyed Raven reiterates the same when he says "may be he hears the wind". In the books when The on/Reek visits the godswood to pray to the weirwood he thinks he hears Bran's voice call his name in the wind. And he takes it as a sign from the Old Gods.

There's an interesting theory doing the works- The three eyed raven talked to the mad king as to burn the dead bodies so that the white walkers will not resurrect them, which is primarily why the mad king went mad and misinterpreted that 'burn them all' means burn everyone living. That's why he stopped Bran when he called out to his father. He knows the repercussions of interfering in this manner. What do you think?

I was thinking Bran could learn to communicate with people in the past as well. Crazy theory: Hodor is the warg and greenseer. Through Bran. He is just warged into Bran since his birth. All the time. That's why he stopped speaking coherently in his original body. Kind of how none of the Thenn wargs speak while they are warged inside animals. Bran was born braindead, and as a good servant, Wylis started "playing" Bran for the Starks. And when we see Bran warg into his wolf, Hodor just double-wargs from Bran to the wolf. And Bran wasn't warging into Hodor. It was Hodor returning to his original body when it was necessary.

In the books Hodor goes into the crypts normal and comes out as Hodor... I reckon he overhears Eddark talking to Lyanna's grave about her son and Ned attacks him as he seems excited and Ned doesn't trust him with the secret as Robert is on a rampage of Targaryean murder. Bran sees this in the crypts and rushes over and repeatedly calls out Hodor whilst he bleeds from his injuries... This being the last thing he hears - he forever says Hodor.

Heres my Bran&Hodor theory: Bran is able to change the past, but he can only communicate verbally with people. Trouble will fall on someone important to him (probably Ned or Lyanna) and he will warg into Wyllis to save them. He is able to save them but he has "stayed too long in the past" and becomes stuck in Wyllis' mind. They both go through a painful mind-meld and emerge a beautiful Hodor. That or Wyllis just sees something he shouldn't have and just gets cursed by a witch.

Hi! I have three notes/questions. 1) I think the theory that Bran tried to influence the past in some way, and that being how Wylis became Hodor, is more likely. Bran has to learn that lesson sometime. 2) Why didn't the Umbers just kill Osha, if they hate wildlings and just needed Rickon? I also thought "what you see is what you get" at first, but then I got a little more careful. If the Umbers and Karstarks are joining the Boltons, who the hell is gonna join Jon and/or Sansa besides the wildlings and the Mormonts? The Manderlys? 3) Eddard fighting with Ice would have made total sense if Dayne was fighting with Dawn. If one of them didn't fight with a legendary blade, the other would have cut right through the other, right?

I'm going to assume Shaggydog is dead until evidence to the contrary. That said, I really hope there is some Northern Conspiracy and it isn't actually Shaggydog. I feel like Jon and Arya reuniting is too much to hope for. As much as I'd LOVE to see that, this is a story that tends to not give me what I want (except Joffrey dead of course). One thing that stuck out to me in the Tower of Joy scene was Howland Reed's height. This isn't a criticism, just something I noticed as Reed - as one of the Crannogmen - should be fairly short. I wasn't even sure which one was Reed until the very end. I am glad that they established that Howland Reed and Ned were the only two combatants left alive after the fight. That is imoprtant.

There's a theory that there were TWO babies brought out of the Tower of Joy. One was Jon and the other was Meera Reed. Remember, Howland Reed (Meera's dad) and Ned were the only two to survive the Raid of Toewer of Joy. It woukd make sense that they each took a baby as Ned could not raise both as his bastard. Meera & Jon are said to have been birn the same year. Also, if you compare images of both chracters from the show, they look exactly alike with curly black hair beeing the common trait.

The first theory I kind of actually SEE happening. Bran wants to prevent the Mad King from killig everyone, because of that The Mad King gets crazy just like Hodor. The Mad King said 'burn them all!' for hours according to Jaime and Ser Berristan until he eventually got killed by Jaime, so maybe he suffered the same fate as Hodor in some way because of Bran...

I like this theory. The "burn them all" part could have something to do with the fact that you have to burn the bodies so they don't become wights. I remember Jaime saying the mad king seemed possessed when me killed him. So maybe that brings everything full circle with the mad King bran and Jaime (who paralyzed bran)

+Emergency Awesome great video, as always. One thing to keep in mind about Hodors name (I think you mentioned it in one of your recent videos) is, that in the book he is originally called Walder. Given his simplemindedness, I find it reasonable to believe, that he at some point wasn't able to pronounce his own name correctly. I mean, slurring the name Walder can kind of sound like Hodor. At least, deriving his name that way seems more believable than a fierce and royal blodded princess riding a horse named Hodor. Also, I guess the people of Winterfell (including Bran) would know if Lyanna once had a horse named Hodor and that Walder/Wyllis once decided to pick up that name for himself.

Yes! Please do this! Everyone is hyped for a secret Targaryen but I'd be more excited for a secret Blackfyre. I think that Aegon (in the books) is a Blackfyre. As for the show, Dario maybe? This would make for a whole "history repeating itself" type thing and having another Blackfyre Rebellion.

They have to make a Robert's Rebellion films as soon as possible. A series would be good too but they'll only do that after Game of Thrones ends. I feel like they can have a film inbetween season 6 and 7. And they have to use the actors from the Tower of Joy scene

+shira T Three Eyed Raven = Bran Stark, in that Three eyed raven is a future bran sent to save the world. In some future where the Long Night has come. A future where the prince that was promised did not appear at all. Thus no one could save the world. But Bran in this future or in this case the three eyed raven had the abilty through his seer's skills to go back in time by discovering that what he was seeing was not actually past visions but past reality. Thus he used that ability in order to travel back in time and ensure that the prince that was promised appears thus ultimately saving the world. However he failed in that mission In that he wasnt in a state in which he could actually change the past, in that he went back in time but didnt acccount for the heavy toll this ability had on his body. So in other words, maintaning a phyiscal existence in the past in the long run seems to take a heavy toll on his body thus he failed in his mission. But he came up with a plan to rather teach himself the secrets of westeros and the time travelling ability to his past self. In that hopefully even if he, the three eyed raven dies, his past self, bran can succeed his mission of ensuring the appearance of the prince that was promised. Sidenote: So this theory could be modified into a time loop theory.

Wylis was very fond of Lyanna since she was always kind to him. The night Lyanna escapes winterfell(not kidnapped like people believe), she asks Wylis to her room to help her. She begins to escape out of her window or something, and she tells him to HOLD THE DOOR! He runs to the door and repeats his orders to himself, "Hold the door, hold the door, hold the door!", and when her fathers guards break through Wylis is injured, and can only say Ho (ld the) door!

+dorsal 2008 I thought the important thing was this: "a girl" is asked about arya stark and her list, putting forth the names arya stark wants to kill. then the waif asks: "that can´t be everyone YOU want to kill, are you sure YOU are not forgetting someone?" if she answers like "no, thats everyone" she still failed, cause she revealed still being arya inside. she gave the correct answer by saying "which name would you like a girl to speak?"

I wish the Sword of the Morning had only had one sword. 'Duel wielding' is such a video game trope. A sword with a dagger, fine, but two swords of the same length makes no sense. Especially if they are longswords, meant to be used with two hands! Sorry I'm just a killjoy for realistic historical combat. :D

One thing I haven't seen mentioned - Jon says at the very end of the episode "My watch has ended", and, he's right - having died, he's no longer bound by the Night's Watch oath. There's probably a longer story reason why he *had* to die and come back to fulfill his role without breaking oath.
