For many, the sixth season of Game of Thrones is when the show begins to decline. A lot of that unfortunately has to do with the subject matter itself: We are now beyond the boundaries of George RR Martin's books (at least as he's written and released them so far). With that structure gone, and with lots of holes to fill in, places to see and go, people to meet, and events to occur, the brisk pace of Game of Thrones' sixth season is perhaps its most glaring weakness. That's because within its 10 episodes is enough content for 20 or more, a compliment to yet another high-quality HBO offering that we simply want more of. It's still wonderful television, but it's sad to think about what could have been if it was given a more proper treatment, especially as we draw closer to what is widely considered a woefully weak finale. In the meantime, though, let us analyze and contemplate, as we're wont to do.

Stumbled across this podcast after Tom from moores law is dead mentioned he was a guest. First 15 mins of the podcast was about dog poop, I was invested in your stories. Subscribed

I know this is when the show started going downhill for many, but I honestly love this season’s finale. The music during the Sept intro is just fantastic. The season finale makes the rest worth it for me.

Yea, I thought Season 6 was the best season. I agree that Season 8 had major issues, and Season 7 had some issues, but I really don't get the hate for Season 6.

I think Dagan needs to do his own podcast, that consists only of his pre podcast banter and stories from knock-back 😃

I consider season 6 to be the last, truly great, season of the show. Some of the show’s best episodes are in this season, and the finale in particular is on another level in terms of quality.

I've got it... GOT season 9 opens with Ellaria Sand waking in her bed. She hears the sound of a shower, she enters the bathroom and sees a man showering, she approaches him, puzzled. Oberin turns to her- "Good morning..." It seems the last 4 seasons were a dream...

huge missed opportunity on the thumbnail. Should have had Colin and Dagans faces in there.

Yeah this was the seasson that started to feel like fanfic for me. Characters started acting and reacting to situation happening on screen in not a way you would expect them to act .And it was frustrating. It's still a decent ride but this feels like a very diffrent show from what it was in S1-4 especially.

For me, this season was still very good television. But definitely the beginning of the decline

I still think this was the strongest of the post-D&D running out of book material seasons. There wasn't much in the way of outright character assassination like 5, 7 and 8 had (maybe Euron Greyjoy aside) and it definitely had it's high points like Cersei Burning the Sept and the battle of the bastards.

I very much enjoy your tv series and movie reviews. GOT of course is a fantastic show to do this on. I hope you review/discuss more series and movies.

You are sharp, and GOT is confusing! I mentioned in the comments section on a past season's episode but having a printed out family tree is SOOOO useful!

I just felt that season 6 and 7 were different, but not really worse in my opinion than the others. season 8 on the other hand is when I completely became Hollow and empty inside, realizing that I was watching a season of Bad fanfiction.

If he is picking the poop I think it should be fine. Is he walking through your property or just down the street and the dog happens to poop in your yard?

As someone who has owned a dog his entire life, picking up poop was never a thing till I got older. Rule of thumb for me: if it’s a little dog I don’t pick up the poop. If it’s a big dog I pick up the poop. Also as someone who doesn’t live by any trails I walk my dog through the neighborhood so I walk in front of many, many yards. How can you not walk in front of other houses? Now if it’s like walking THROUGH the yard that’s another thing.

It sucks how Tyrion went from being the most clever, funniest, scene stealing character to an uninteresting buffoon in this season and the next 2. Probably lack of source material hurt here

“I think I understood the Ironborn a lot more this season.” Unfortunately you did not. Euron is Balon’s brother, not son. They do not vote for leaders. Aeron(also Balon’s brother) called a Kingsmoot to avoid a civil war which had not happened for thousands of year allegedly. The Ironborn’s moto is “we do not sow” not “what is dead may never die.” I hope this clears up your confusion about not being confused lol
