I took a chance on this stuff too. Your box is very similar to mine. The good things that came out of my box were mostly Bruin cards, my big young gun was. poitras , A Bergeron, PC sparkle variation, and a Director of boards AJ Greer sparkle and also got a canvas young gun of Billy Sweezy. If this had been a normal $120 box, I would’ve been a bit more excited for all the stuff that I got but considering the super inflated price for only the chance at Connor Bedard, that’s it for me with this stuff. I do think this is going to be a similar situation with almost everything that comes out this year so if you want to have fun and try to hit the big guy, a lot of us will have to be very picky about which products we take a chance on.

What an absolutely beautiful Bobby Orr rookie! And it brought you luck. You hit the Beecher YG. I thought it was a good box. Like you said you have to pay to play. You got some good YG that have some good upside to them. With all this social media and everything else this has become a wild day. Unfortunately those square retail boxes are no more. I loved those, best value for flagship by a mile. That’s what I opened to pull my McDavjd YG back in November of 2015, haha. But yeah, they were a casualty of the reconfiguration of the product this year. Tins are the best value proposition now.

#DRYDEN I haven't commented a long time, things are still rough and all that jazz but I do at least have a mailing address at the moment! Normally I wouldn't enter but that LaFontaine card is absolutely incredible, and I love seeing him in the Sabres jersey ^^ And its shiny! The cost is so much for these, but I actually LOVE the inserts. A lot of shiny, and the Deep Roots inserts look fantastic. It's just so much money that I could not possibly justify it. The OPC and Platinum (last year) breaks were awesome that I have seen. While my ordeal is still ongoing, hopefully those boxes will come down. Both of those products are among the ones I want to bust the most, and the base OP'C is something that if it comes down enough then maybe eventually I can get a few boxes! I really love this years retro design also! OPC is certainly is nowhere near this pricing as well. Thank you for the break, and if things stabilize more, I will be watching and commenting more frequently again. Thank you for your wonderful ambassadorship of hockey cards =)

Note mine! As I mention in every vid, it's from Mainly Hockey Cards: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2Kmqpufm8iVecksi=vTnvmttJDw15_4rJ. He does lists every year. But, I would not take them too seriously for two reasons: 1. Grades change drastically as players develop. 2. UD is now mass printing YGs, and they are non autos. So, any non superstar tanks in value in this day and age. It's very much a new wax pack era like the 1990s. The only cards that maintain value are from higher end products.

Hm. That's a philosophical question. I mean, it might unsoften the hockey market this year. And, ppl will find value in some of the proven big boys like McD and Crosby, because they will look very cheap in comparison to Bedard. However, the rest of the YG crop might get killed because of the mass printing, and everyone parking their money solely in Bedard. Cole Caufield was a $150 YG out of the gate. Now you can find it for $25, two years later. What does that tell you? Ppl only chase the latest greatest; there is a ton of lemming group-think; and they are mass printing to satisfy the Bedard demand. Every YG is printed the same amount. There hasn't been any SP YGs since 03/04 with Nash. So, if they are producing over 80,000 cases, all the other YGs will have no value. That prob means they are a buy signal. Like Leo Carlsson might turn out to be HOF, for all we know. But at these print runs, they will be dirt cheap during the summer, when everyone is on their boat. Bedard is a sell signal right now. The way stocks work is you buy sell-offs and you sell irrational exuberance.

I just can’t always be positive about every product and only comment my thoughts on a particular product, positive or negative. Oh don't worry about it. Some background. I like critical comments. Critical analysis is the sign of an active mind. Where I push back at times is my being "unlucky" or "lucky" when my outcome is perfectly in line with the 88% odds. The fundamental premise of my channel is that cards are a sunk cost. It is precisely my actual investments, not cards, that fund this educational channel. Certainly not flashing dollar signs or dramatically scapegoating UD to go viral. I forego monetization to the musical artists. Right. So mathematically, I would have to pop open 8.33 boxes to ensure I hit Bedard, a common card printed over 100,000 times, which will always be available on eBay, ultimately very affordably. If we were on Box #6 and I still hadn't hit him, I might concede I am unfortunate. Even then, my string of 4% likelihood (case) hits in UD Clear Cut would imply I might not hit Bedard in UDS2 until the last box of a case as math settles at the mean (even though these are independent events). And, the way my crazy brain works, I'm always cognizant that the relationship between sunk costs and recoupment is a failing one by its inherent nature. Bedard is the function of irrational exuberance, connoting a *sell* signal, not a buy. I accept this. I'm also thinking I hit Matthews' YG in a $15 blaster and Laffy's YG in one of my first boxes, and I scored both McDavid's YGC and Orr RC for around $200 on eBay. I have also gone on a crazy run of hitting LAK cards in Clear Cut group breaks, because of the amount of cards on the checklist. To me, this isn't about the cosmos. Both the market and my channel are constructs, not good or bad juju to me, regardless of the juju.
