Game Recap: Timberwolves 106, Nuggets 99

The Minnesota Timberwolves upset the defending champion Denver Nuggets in Game 1, 106-99 and takes a 1-0 series lead. For Minnesota, Anthony Edwards led the way with a playoff career-high 43 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks while aided by Karl Anthony-Towns (20 points, four rebounds) and Naz Reid (16 points (14 in Q4), four rebounds) in the victory. Nikola Jokic finished with 32 points, eight rebounds, nine assists, and three steals while Michael Porter Jr. recorded 20 points (four 3PM), six rebounds, and three steals for Denver in the losing effort. Minnesota leads the best-of-seven series, 1-0, with Game 2 taking place on Monday, May 6th, 10:00 PM ET, TNT/truTV.

Wolves’ coach, please, in the beginning the Nuggets were helpless with the Defense (both Murray and Jokid were bothered), there is no need to go to your bench first! This is over rationalizing (even having a best bench). That gave the Nuggets the opportunity to breath and come back right away. Besides, if Ant is in Supernova mode, let him stay there, he would easily get 53 maybe even 60. Take him out only when he slows down a bit. He is taking over! I am so happy Reid finished strong, he could even stay more. KAT, very good, he just needs to refrain from silly fouls.
