I got the inspiration to get a Kallax and use big box/pretty box games to store others from here and my favorite game store! i absolutely love it, it fits every single one of our 30~ games (it's a 2x4 cubby one) and it looks just beautiful! i love how easy it is to expand with them if/when you need more room. thanks for the tour and storage tips!

Have you considered hanging some of the larger board games on the wall as decor? Then you can just take them down to play and out them back up when you're done. Bonus: if you put them on a shadow box frame, you can store the pieces for that board in the shadow box.

It's more than a collection, it's an investment, and a fun one. And I must say, with as expensive games are these days, if you don't have them insured, you might want to make sure the price of the games is covered. A collection like that is worth protecting in any way you can.

How do you organize/find games (since you hide some in the back of the shelves, being unable to see them)? You guys mentioned you move them around, I imagine it's hard when you want something specific that's not on view. Besides collecting board games, I also collect books and I can't imagine using this system, though everything seems to be in it's place on your shelves.

Dinning table have to be at least 50 cm from wall bcs if not then you eill argue a lot and be without motivation, have stresfull meals ect.

Pushing anything past the clearly visible headshake would be a breach of trust. I'm sure that it already took time to clean and optimize the already mostly optimized game room for filming. There is no reason to intrude on the chaos of the basement no matter what state it actually is in.
