I found an interesting interaction though. In mirror matches, when your opponent summons Sera, you can activate Time-Space, and then Effect Veiler, so when the chain resolves, veiler negates Sera's effects (including the unaffectedness), then Time-Space sends her back. Also, if Dionaea brings Sera back from the grave, or she gets special summoned from the Pudica banish, she is not link summoned, therefore is not unaffected by traps. Another interesting fact is that Rafflesia can use traps on her because Rafflesia is not a trap but a monster.

Quick confirmation question: Can "Break-Off Trap Hole" be triggered by the summon of your own link monster? If you have means of activating it (say, by the effect of the Traptrix monster that lets you play hole trap cards from the hand as one example) when you summon Sera, that can act as a "Dark Hole" for anything not linked (except your own Traptrix monsters because they're unaffected, of course)?

one issue that comes up sometimes while playing the deck which I'm not 100% sure about is (again) regarding sera... for example, if I control sera, and I activate both a monster and a trap card... on resolution, can I choose to activate both of sera's triggers or do I just get to pick one... since if I can do both, it'd allow me to chainblock the summon with the set, which cannot be ashed.

No, since sera wasn't on the field when d barrier was activated, she was only there at the resolution of the effect so her effect when a normal trap is ACTIVATED cannot be used (cards count as being activated while building the chain I believe)

Traptrix player question: the field spell allows for two normal summons, but the effect is specific to “normal summon one ‘traptrix’ monster in addition to your normal summon/set.” If I synchro summon “circle of the fairies” which allows you to “normal summon/set one Insect or plant monster in addition to your normal summon/set” can I gain both effects since they are different effects or do I only gain the benefit of one or the other?

You can not. They're both worded as giving you the same extra normal summon. It's like Floowandereeze & Snowl not stacking with Double Summon. The NS you get off of Double Summon is the same NS as one of the ones you get off of Snowl. Same type of thing applies here.

Never knew about Sera being different named, understood why Holetea can't be sent. And I can understand the Pudica situation being that in the Kash matchup, all the Kashtira's CAN special themselves if you control no monster's so they might've thought that's what occurred. And yeah Pudica being able to bring back ANY Banished monster is a very important detail to note of

Another important ruling for this meta is that terrifying trap hole popping and then banishing an opponents mirrorjade will not cause mirrorjade to trigger its leaves the battlefield effect. Since mirrorjade is sent to the graveyard it will need to remain there to be able to activate its effect but since it is then moved before it can activate it will fail to activate, this is also true of any monsters with destruction effects such as the unchained monsters, note though that mirrorjade WILL trigger if they use bottomless trap hole because it is a simultaneous effect.

Here's a full break down. If Skill Drain was already up, then when Sera or other immune from trap monster comes up they are negated already included the immunity. If they get hit by a Forbidden Lance, they gain their effects back and will remain immune even after lance expires. If Sera was up first before Skill Drain, Sera will not be affected by skill drain, BUT if Sera get hit by a forbidden droplet / chalice. She will be negated and then during the end phase the Skill Drain will continue to apply they were affected by Skill Drain when their effects got negated and will continue to be negated.

TrapTrix is supposed to be this structure deck for beginners, I think. But even that has already these tricky rulings and stuff. But I guess that is just modern Yu-Gi-Oh. You should be able to, holeutea is treated as a monster card after it’s been summoned. The only thing you cant do is chain arachnocampa to holeutea, if u control no other traptrix monsters, bcs u need to wait for the holeutea to resolve for it to be treated as a monster

My sister and I just started getting bavk into dueling. We had a dispute over traptrix trap hole nightmare. I activated a Danger! monster from my hand and it was eventually special summoned and then I was going to draw but she activated trap hole nightmare. As an ex mtg player. We had 1 rule: RTFC. Read the f***** card! I feel that applies to all games. I have a traptrix deck myself, and i found this video informative. Ive been told im an annoying player because I like to read out every effect I am using. But i think its necessary to avoid crap like this. Stop being lazy yugioh players :)
