100% agree with you there, sometimes it can be frustrating but the rush you get from overcoming something that challenging is a sweet hit of dopamine.

In most cases, that just means moving a sponge slider up and down the spectrum, which is artificial difficulty. Very few games actually have differences in enemy AI behavior or varying scales of skill based difficulty of any kind.

Sam clearly states that the game wasn’t really made for him. For HIM. And then proceeds to say what he likes in games (open worlds, free exploration, etc.). Totally understandable, and I’m with him there. If it’s not for him, then it’s not for him.

VR will always be a niche experience. Too many people are not able to use it due to motion sickness, price point and the fact that it’s not as leisurely as standard gaming. They also need to rethink the games they’re making for it.

PSVR2 cost about the same as PSVR(with camera and controllers) and has alot newer and better tech(PSVR was outdated on arrival). PSVR2 will also have alot more games from the start with games like RE8 and Horizon. PSVR2 will also stay fresh alot longer than PSVR. IGNs take on this is bad, PSVR2 is alot better than PSVR and Quest. And Yes you can play Alyx on Quest, but you need a 1000$ computer and PSVR2 has much better tech than Quest( i.e better screen, tracking and overall picture quality).

Yeah that tracks as the og psvr cost 400 in 2016 with no controllers ( and 6 wires and separate box to connect it all!), but the psvr 2 is loaded with very nice tech for what it is at least.

PSVR 2 is "the most fanciest" in wired VR headsets outside of super expensive specialist products... Integrating all the software and hardware tightly enough to do foveated rendering fast enough to be effective will be difficult on a windows platform. Maybe for a few years, PSVR2 should exclusively have the best VR graphics available to a mass market...

GoW Ragnarok is a great sequel to one of the best PS games ever. Nothing is really blowing people away these days, in my opinion it’s due to the cross generation requirements. Sam is also an old curmudgeon 😂

PSVR 2 has comparable specs and price to headsets that also include a mobile computer and battery that we would see in $500+ mobile phones... PSVR 2 should be way cheaper since it has no mid-to-high-range mobile phone hardware included...

PSVR 2’s price isn’t comparable to other similar spec VR units because you need the PS5 to play it unlike other units which are standalone which brings the price to play over £1000/$1000 which is a ridiculous price of entry!!!

Sam what the hell? At 21:40 you complain about what you unlock with the skill trees? LMAO that's been a GOW staple since the original games. Also, it's very common in single player action games. And how is that not interesting? It literally adds another layer of complexity to the video games. Plus, you prefer parries? That was in STREET FIGHTER games before all, if not, most games.

The ps5 is not powerful enough to play Half-Life Alyx respectably. The recommended specs for that on pc are set low, and the game runs poor at those settings.

@Mcckoe it simply is not. Eye tracking will do nothing for the game performance wise. Valve would have to implement something like fsr to help, even then it would be rough. RTX 3060 cards paired with 6+ core cpus that are all higher spec than the ps5 still struggle to run this game without frame drops on even medium settings. It COULD be possible, but would require a lot of work.
