Fallout 🤝Persona Being franchises that were almost gonna die but the 3rd entry made it one of the most popular franchises in gaming

I don’t wanna be that guy, but Persona 3 is technically the 4th entry, the 5th of you wanna include “Persona 0”. Persona 2 was actually a duology, it was a single story split into 2 games. So technically Persona 3 would be the 4th entry, however, the Persona series was actually created as a spiritual successor of SMT: If. SMT: If featured a lot of mechanic reminiscent to Persona, you could almost say they were prototypes. While it’s not technically called Persona, the SMT: IF female protagonist actually does make an appearance in Persona 2. So it wouldn’t be to far fetched to include If as an entry.

@@keiviroque5666 I am going to be that guy too. Fallout 3 is not really the third game of the Fallout franchise as well XD

Went into the video just for the P3 section expecting misinformation based on how Persona wasn’t previously successful in America, but came out pleasantly surprised, learning something new about the history of Atlus. I did always wonder how they stayed afloat for so long by making niche games that didn’t sell particularly well, even in Japan (despite what people claim). Persona 3 is a wonderful game. However, I still have 1 correction: Atlus wasn’t a subsidiary of Sega until 2013, when P3’s success was already established with 3 versions of the game, and Persona 4 was starting to do really well with its rerelease, anime adaptation, and fighting game. Also the year SMT IV, by far the best-selling non-Persona Megami Tensei game until SMT V, released. So basically, the success of stuff like Sonic Adventure had no effect on Atlus.
@Primiss10 ай бұрын
well there you go thats amazing! i was actually not aware that Atlus was not a subsidary until then so that is very good to know! Thank you for the correction! Glad you enjoyed though thank you for watching!

I was kinda expecting Fire Emblem Awakening to be here since Nintendo told Intelligent Systems that if the new Fire Emblem didn't sell well, the series was over, and because Fire Emblem Awakening sold pretty well the series continues to this day.

The thing with Persona games, the mainline games actually do have a life-changing effect to them. Their stories, characters, etc, leave you with a sense of emptiness after completing them because of how immersive the games are with the gameplay and story. After I finished P3 and P4, I just kinda sat there, and it legitimately changed me as a person.
@Primiss10 ай бұрын
couldn't agree more! all of the games are just so special and i truly wouldn't be the same person without them and especially when it comes to persona 3

I'm probably at the lowest point of my life and it can only get better from here. I hope I have success in the future like them. Those are all my favorite franchises ironically so it really helps me out.

Im sorry to hear that! But your exactly right! If theres anything i know for sure its that your going to have success and youll get past this! The lows are a part of life but so are the highs and i know your going to have some highs soon! Just like all these games your going to innovate and change and become something you have always wanted to be! All you gotta do is try! I know life will get better for you and if you ever need someone to talk to im all ears:D

I see people clarifying the Sega thing but I also wanna clarify that P3 didn’t technically become the highest selling entry unless you combine the sales of all its different versions/rereleases. P1 had the most sales for a persona release until P5. Having said that, I won’t deny that P3 had such a large influence on the series and Atlus going forward.

Ah my apologies! I just re searched it up and noticed that i was looking at the chart wrong! Thanks for letting me know! But yeah it definitely had a huge influence going foward

I'm pretty sure you heard about this, but Sonic Frontiers also helped SEGA as well recently. According to their recent interview, they said that if Frontiers were to fail, they would have no chance. Meaning that they wouldn't be able to make anymore hugher budget Sonic games nor SEGA would invest more time and money to make quality Sonic games. Personally, I'm glad Sonic Frontiers was a success. Good job on Sonic Team 👏🏾
