I was infatuated with this show when it debuted. I was fortunate enough to be a contestant in Season 2 (w/Kari), and remember bailing soon after Alicia joined. While I did find her less bubbly/kind of boring compared to Kari and Marisol, she wasn't the reason I bailed - the show had just run its course by that point. I didn't even know there was a hostess after Alicia, nor that Ken wasn't around for the final eps. Thanks for filling in the blanks!

It's so weird re-watching this after spending a couple years becoming a huge SNL fan and seeing Colin Quinn before he was hired by SNL in 1995.

Yes, Colin Quinn broke one of the biggest game show hosting rules on the finale: At the end of your final episode, don't even ATTEMPT to name everybody associated with the program because you'll either run out of time or leave somebody out. Many hosts even admitted that they would omit some people if they tried to list them all; besides, that's what the closing credits are for.

Good retrospective there, Sig! I laughed when I saw Adam Sandler on it. At first though I was like, wow that guy looks a lot like Adam Sandler.

I didn't watch as much when Kari left. To me, Kari was the perfect female sidekick. All the other females seemed like they were just "there" (even the first female, Marisol). Whether it was real or not, the "sexual attraction" Kari and Colin had for each other made the show compelling. Obviously Colin and Ken thought Kari was essential, because after she left, both Ken and Colin looked obviously bored. If I recall, the syndicated bonus round didn't involve identifying music video artists, but rather a series of TV trivia questions 9 monitors on a "Wheel of Jeopardy!" which the contestant spun on. If the contestant's head landed on a monitor with a prize, he won (I actually liked this bonus game better) but the MTV version also had a revised "Wheel of Jeopardy!" with only 2 monitors, and again, the contestant had to identify 9 music video artists.

MTV killed it with the first 3 seasons. Seasons 4 and 5 were painful. And let's say that Kari was awesome.

I wouldn't exactly call Adam Sandler's post-RC career "successful". Maybe financially successful for Sandler personally, but not successful for the rest of us. He's the Pat Bullard of Hollywood: He's starred in one God-awful turkey after another, and he's just there to collect a check.

On a side note, after "Remote Control" was terminated, the keyboardist moved on to another game show called, "Video Power".

Hold on! Colin.... hosted?! Damn. Glad I jumped off the ship around Season 3. It was better in its early days. So was the NES game, surprisingly enough.

donald paluga Sandler started in Season 2 as Stickpin Quinn aka Trivia Delinquint. Denis Leary started in Season 4 as Andy Warhol for Andy's Diary and Gunther for Gunther's Animal Kingdom.
