Notice how Dartigan never acknowliges the fact that, even though Dr and Emperor Nefarious look and sound nothing a like, Dr was still able to fool the Emperor's robots into believing that he isn't from another dimension and is their leader. In fact even Rivit clams that they look simlair when they aren't. Dr is purple green and Emperor is white orange. They also don't share the same VA.

I think he gave the benefit of the doubt for the reason of plot/comedy and Nefarious is the emperor. Since that Nefarious always wins, he could have found it pointless to have fail-safes. (See how Ratchet was able to use a ship by using a similar phrase of evil that Nefarious may use). It's not really explained but it's not that hard to understand why they didn't want to question their emperor's new look.

It's so weird when you play the older games and you get used to the minimalist features of the world set pieces and everything. And then you play a next gen Rachet and clank game and there is so much detail and everything is so spacious that it's almost like sensory overload to me.

My biggest issues with the game are 1. People just living their lives like nothing happened when the rifts appeared 2. Why does Kitt feel bad if she was programmed to be a resistance killer bot, is a conscience her defect? 3. Rivet and Kitts friendship then “betrayal” happens so quick and unorganically. How can Rivet be so upset the robot she met met two days ago doesn’t want to discuss her biggest trauma.

1. Their overlord (Dr posing as emperor) told them specifically to ignore them and they weren't important, and disagreeing gets you thrown in prison 2. Yes. That's the point. It's mirroring clank, who has free will due to a defect (and a zoni soul, but that's weird). 3. It's less a betrayal and more of a "how can I trust you when you are designed to kill me and my friends? What if you revert at any time??" thing. Very good questions. Hell, rivet even says she doesn't know if she can fully trust Kit after wanting to work with her again. Remember, this all takes place in a day. Losing trust for someone you just met is perfectly normal. The fact you trust them to save your life for no reason is the weird part. For a secret resistance member, rivet becomes VERY trusting just after learning clank was telling the truth. After that, she doesn't verify anything anyone says anymore.

why did clank even bother rebuilding the dimensionator? 1. Ratchet was more or less settled on the idea that his family was with Clank and their friends rather than his own species. 2. this is the 3rd time the dimesionator has nearly bought the universe to ruin because a bad thing was summoned from the other side, clearly the dimensionator is something nobody should have any right to use and should just be destroyed, you'd think in all their experience of being heroes they'd have figured that out.

Also introduce a 2nd character from the opposite city which will be very important to Jak, like a friend, who is very capable, but has his own character trait like being lonely or tired of all of the chaos and wanting a simpler life

I agree the way they used a second make character was pretty unimaginative. They are identical to the point of breaking immersion. It was like they were checking a box so they can say they have female representation but didn't actually want to do the work to make it have a point. Also the idea that an alternative dimension is 99% the same except some things are conveniently different by a tiny bit is incredibly lazy writing. Like beyond lazy.

That intro was my exact thoughts on the game. I really liked it but couldn’t help but feel like as well-made as it is, it’s a little too safe. And I’m not saying sequels need to reinvent the wheel, but there’s far less ‘innovation’ than ‘refinement’, and for a series running this long, some genuine innovation should have happened by now… and it hasn’t. Still a good game. outside of time/space rifts which are entirely controlled and doled out exclusively when the game decides). Still a very fun game, imo.

I was a huge fan of the original 3 RC games as a kid. The gameplay is solid through and through. I’ve always loved the casual platform and outrageous 3rd person shooting/action combination. Add in the humor and writing of the first few games and it seriously made the perfect video game for me personally. I enjoy the new games, but they will never really satiate that desire for the old, somewhat raunchy and edgy ratchet and clank experience on the PS2 that was just downright fun in almost every regard. I get that audiences change and you cater to the largest fan base but I almost wish the studio would work on a parallel project that was tied to the RC universe that paid a greater tribute to the original games which were targeted at a slightly older fan base.

For Rivet to be Ratchet's alternate dimensional self, it would have to be like this. The Ratchet and Clank games' dimension. Ratchet's dimension. The alternate R&C game's dimension. Rivet's dimension. However, because there would have to be two dimensions in which the Lombaxes exist in their own. This would make it to possible to have Rivet been able to fo to the OG dimension and vise versa, while also having the possibility that they both be able to go to the OG dimension at the same time. So according to the game's story, it would actually have been possible to have both Ratchet and Rivet in the first game. It could even be Ratchet going to Rivet's original dimension. Insomniac probably didn't think through how this actually worked.

I remember the first Ratchet and Clank game,that game was impresive in everything.I especially loved the story that includes Mr.Drek as the planetary realestate salesman,whos destroyes planets,to make sellable planets.One thing that i didn't like about R&C was a Captain Quark,who's body is misspropotionately desinged,and who never did get good story begining.As the old player of the R&C,i think that the story of the Captain Quark should begin in some unstaible sector,where he have the job of the local sheriff for 20 years.And as a local sheriff he has haved aces to the fighter jets,laser guns,ATV's with carpetillars,and cetera.But one unfortunate day his life has change during his investigation of some smuggling operation,when he has stupp upon the trace that has led him to the smuggling gang in cahoot with the local mayor.The gang was smuggling weapons,and other reare dangerous christals,spices etcetera.And when he has arested the gang and the mayor,the trial has begun,that has showed corupted mayor as the 'undercover agent on the case',and the Captain Quark as the guilty party.Since his fingerprints was all over the contraband,weapons and cetera,the Captain Quark has lost his job,and served the 5 years in the prison.And 5 years later when he has come out from prison he couldn't find a job,becomes desperate,and eventualy get employed by the Mr.Drek to do some work for him,with the famous words,just think about it.Since then Captain Quark works illegaly for Mr.Drek on the black market,and as his spoke person,and a thug.And in this part of the story Ratchet comes into Captain Quark's life,and work together to get rid of the Mr.Drek by fighting against his forces,and exposing Mr.Drek from inside with the help of the Captain Quark.After Mr.Drek gets arested,Captain Quark joins to the Ratchets team,and with time of just 2 years they buy them self a bigger ship,and a start a transportation business named ROAC.(Ratchet.Quark.And.Clank.)PS:The name was ratchet's idea

Still doesn't account for the fact that, once the fixer tried to squish her, even though her arm itself may be strong enough, it is still only attached to her "not as strong as her arms" body. All the pressure from the arm needs to travel somewhere and her body is the only attached thing. So while her arm may be unharmed she would definetly NOT survive all the pressure on the rest of the body and be squished anyways. Either that or the arm would just rip of wich is also painful

Each universe has its own race of Lombax’s that also left their universes. Eventually this sparked a multiversal war among the Lombax races until one Lombax destroyed the all other branches of the multiverse and formed the “Time Variance Authority” to maintain the timeline. This Lombax called himself “He Who Remains”. Eventually, after millions of universe cycles, the lone Lombax at the end of time allowed for a single branch to explore more possibilities for an ideal universe. Thus, Rivet’s universe was born. Either it was all that or Rivet came from the Prime Universe… LOL

Insomnia had the extremely rare and often sought-after redo button. After the rather lackluster launch of the first reboot game of the series. That was hampered by questionable writing and a tie in movie. They could have taken feedback from the fans and more less announced that the reboot/tie inmovie game was an experiment. Washed their hands of it and started fresh. Instead, they doubled down with more of the same nonsense.And made a desperate attempt to reignite interest in the series. By making a gender-swapped versions of its main characters. That play exactly the same as their male counterparts. Making it more of a one-off sort of episode of a long-running series. Rather than the basis of the start of their new saga; If interest remains that is.

Which means the dimension they all escaped to has double the capacity it can hold; unless the Lumbaxes source dimensions' were competing for dimensional timeshares and both got separate ones. so there's infinite lombaxes if they didnt come from one dimension. so there's no reason to find a lombax dimension or even create a lombax dimension because the only other reason you wouldn't join up with more lombaxes from different dimensions is to have a dimension populated by people of only your race/species this is why the dimensions and time travel are viewed as lazy and stupid.

One thing I find weird is that Rivet doesn't trust Kit because she's a Warbot, and yet neither Ratchet or Clank mention the fact that Clank is also a Warbot, seriously I've been playing it for the first time this week and all the way through the story I was waiting for this to be mentioned, and nothing, Kit just... comes back, and all is forgiven.

I'm a bit late, but I'm not sure where you got the idea that Dr Nefarious was AWARE of the fact that there was an another nefarious in that dimension. I assumed he had no idea from the beginning. He never mentions knowing about the emperor. Great video though! I was super annoyed and confused about the whole dimensional counterpart thing with Ratchet and Rivet and I'm glad someone pointed it out.

As a long time fan, I finally played it for the first time and as expected it's as medicore as any of the post ToD games. The story is generic, the dialogues are stupid, the writing don't make sense and the maps are boring. The weapons are alright but nothing I haven't seen in older games. Pretty much seals the deal that the franchise will never return to its PS2 root. The only things I kinda liked are some escape/chase sequence are alright but only for the first time and Rivet is kinda hot.

I have a theory. What if ratchet and clank is part of a multidimensional law dictated by fate. As if each universe must have a robot that controls space-time and a lumbax to monitor it. Take Rick and Morty for an example, it could be that Ratchet and Clank are part of some 'finite curve' made by Ratchets father before he died. Hence why there team ups will always defeat evil, because it is programed in the finite curve

Yeah Rivet’s gameplay was what I thought it was, it’s why instead I played it with my cousin. Rivet is just a skin with a story set up. Go back to Sonic Adventure 2 and compare Sonic and Shadow. At the very least they run different, but Sonic has gadgets that Shadow doesn’t like the bounce bracelet. Since 1 of your options is Scarlet Nexus even that game goes about 2 playable characters well. Yuito having more dmg options on ground and Kasane having more air dmg options

Rivet throws her hammer differently also considering how gadgets work in RA they'd have to restructure the game just to have exclusive abilities which won't help the core gameplay loop at all, also all you do in SA2 while playing as those 2 characters is running least they could do right? As for SN they don't share a campaign so they can get away making differences the way RA implements Ratchet and Rivet as playable in the gameplay structure is tied to the full campaign and there's only one.

Even if Rivet is a Lombax once she got into this dimension she's basically tied to the dimensions law? I suppose? Also Ratchet hasn't seen any female Lombax aside from she who shall not be named and apparently she's not a lombax so Rivet could be a hybrid Lombax? Considering the monsters we see that have orange energy are basically what Sunset Overdrive's drink is made from Also, the ships were taken down by a flying dinosaur that shoots fireballs AND is carrying

I do think that Twinsanity did the "alternative counterpart" better, Crash and Evil Crash are the same character with distinct personality and design. The cut alternative for Cortex is a good version of himself. Ratchet and Rivet are different by design, but the personality, since they toned Ratched way too much, they are similar based on that. Why not making an evil lombax? Like one who try to dominate the world or destroy it? But the motivations would be kept as subtil. That would be interesting, they made Allister kinda evil back then.. The two Nefarious are villains, Clank/Kit are warbots that are deffective and good.. A huge missed opportunity here. It’s About Time had that issue of lacking the difference in personalities, the main villain have a female counterpart as well.. I noticed another issue, Rivet had PSTD because Kit shoot her arm, yet she picked Clank and later, Kit, without issues, unless the plot call for it. And she’s the last of her kind with no family members mentioned.. That wasn’t explored more. Edit2: Insomniac Games wanted to end the franchise by A Crack In Time, but Sony pressured them to continue.

This entire game felt like a backdoor pilot for a Rivet series. I thought the game was pretty disappointing in general, as many of the little touches and inside gags (particularly with Nefarious) were cut. Everything was just nice, clean, safe, as overtly politically correct as possible...and dull. Oh hey, just like Miles Morales, the last game Insomniac made. I guess A Crack in Time will forever be the apex of Insomniac's work on Ratchet & Clank.

..........So maybe I'm in the minority, but Ratchet and Clank essentially does the same thing 3D Mario does. It Ratchet and Clank is being sinned for following a formula, then Mario doesn't get a pass either.......or Legend of Zelda for that matter (though breath of the wild did break that formula recently to be fair). Besides the new gimic for this game is the rift tether. Though unlike Cappy, I will say the rift tether isn't used as much. That's all I wanted to say though, I know these videos aren't ment to be taken that seriously lol
