GAME WARDEN Encounter - TROUT MAGNET Creek Fishing

I did some creek fishing in West Virginia. It was a cold and windy day but I grabbed my chest waders and headed to one of my favorite creeks to try catching some fish. I used my ultra light rod and reel paired with a Trout Magnet. I was not targeting a specific species. I was fishing for multi species and whatever would bite. Towards the end of my fishing adventure, I was approached by a game warden. I haven't had a game warden encounter in quite some time.

I have the Game warden check my fishing license frequently when I fish the waterways of Elmira NY. i have never had a problem with game wardens in 55 years of fishing and being in the outdoors. they have always been courteous, friendly and helpful. probably at least half the times i've interacted with them while fishing they never even asked ro see my license!

If you like fishing for stocked and native trout fishing roaring run falls in Virginia. Its not only a nice hike with a beautiful waterfall at the end but also filled with great deep pockets that trout love. If you have the energy and time go off the trail and make your way above the falls for good native brook fishing

I got my PB Creek chub on the mealworm trout magnet it was 12 to 14 inches I got it when trying to get smaller ones for pike and bass and I catch a lot of pike on crappie magnets by the lake I live by in Wisconsin

Tough call honestly. Both will work. I usually fish it without just because I enjoy it more. I enjoy jigging the trout magnet rather than keeping my rod still staring at a bobber lol

Nice man defintely looks like a huge creek chub. Lookin forward to some trout videos! Try takin a trip to upper seneca creek for some native brookies, I had great luck up there. Good place to do a little fly fishing if youre in to that but you will also slay with trout magnet, gulp minnow, or worms.

Theres good trout fishing right there by seneca rocks but if you go to upper seneca creek its almost exclusively native brook trout. Up there its a real narrow mountain stream, a lot different than it is down by the rock. Find spruce knob on your maps and look about a mile NE you find the seneca creek trailhead. The trail starts right beside where the creek comes out of the ground and follows down it the whole way. Hike 2 miles or so in and you get to judy springs and theres a few campsites along the trail around there. Thats about where the creek gets big enough to really start fishin. The next few miles is all good, just walk up on a hole real quiet and toss in. After 2 or 3 casts they will usually get spooked so move on to the next one if you dont get anything. Its just hole after hole as you hike down the creek, best advice is to cover a lot of water. You will come across some really big holes that are more forgiving but most of the little ones get spooked out pretty quick. Then hit them all again on your way back!

Dark colors or really bright colors for your lures/baits. Fish shallow. Fish cover like logs, trees, rocks etc.

I google imaged "common shiner" and it does look very similar. When I google image "creek chub" most of them have a dark line down their side. I'm no expert, but from the pictures it looks more like a shiner to me. Thanks for watching!

Actually, that fish in 2:30 is a common shiner (luxilus cornutus) or white shiner (luxilus albeolus) this depends on range and other factors, but I am very certain that it is a fish from the luxilus genus.

I have millions of them up here in the panhandle they are called common shiners they are the prettiest during the spawn usually bite small little grubs or worms really good catfish and big bass bait

@@FishHawk yea the best part about them tho the smaller ones after you use the tail bring a little beggy with you, and throw the remains in the beg then take them home and freeze them, then the day u go fishing an hour before you leave take em out, when u hook em and cast them into the water they melt faster brings the trout in like crazy, but then again im from canada so idk if your allowed to do that where your from or not, id look into it, but we catch them all the time,
