To be honnest this video is good but you can't say "stamina" are useless, stamina talents are the most broken thing in the entire game. Except for a "building / farmer" build everybody should have stamina + stamina regen talents (& movement speed if we have to be honnest too) Imagine the amount of time you spend running arround, with plyometrics (-50% stamina from jumping) you can run for minutes running & jumping without having no stamina. If you play with a spear it goes even further. Worse if you have to fight it's much better to be able to run longer, faster and fight for a longer period of time without having stamina problems. We can make multiple characters so i guess we could do 2 things: - 1 main character that we respec depending of what you need (open world / missions / combat / building / gathering...) - multiple character and switch between them (but that's a loss of time for the most part, except maybe a 100% gathering character) Best build by far is: - Max stamina - Stamina regen - Movespeed - Choose 1 type of weapon and put points into it (dagger cost nearly no points if you only play melee so no throwing, spears if you like to have even more stamina, bows cost more than 2 others but is probably the best overall) Then you can use points in "max health" / "inventory capacity" / "wood into sticks?"(really usefull in some situations), the rest is useless if we are honnest except in specific scenario like building a big base and so on.

Resource, Stamina, Health, Move Speed. Rush a gun with your increased yield and stamina. Every mission is a joke. (Jump Stam reduction + Fire Whacker Speed and Stam) You can bunny hop across the map and never lose stamina with a Fire Whacker equipped. You gain stamina mid air. Just my playstyle everyone has their own preferences.
@mutatgaming8627 Жыл бұрын
I was surprised when he said plyometrics wasn't that useful. Unless he is using the gear mod that does the same thing, but I'm assuming if you're mission farming you are rushing to the end bringing most of your gear with you... so gear slots for mods aren't an option.

Tbh, I just made a new build with tools and for open world its honestly worth going all in for tools because if you take your exotic tools, 2 axes and 2 pickaxes combined with the cx400 armor. It will take a long time for your tools to break and the melee buff on the axe will make your axe do twice the dmg a knife does and the delay between hits is barely anything on the larkwell axe combined with the talents. So if you like just survivaling in open world, Its worth it.

Umm the stamina used when jumping is the most OP talent in the game. Because you can bunny hop across the map keeping sprint speed... Doesn't work so much up hills but you regain sta when jumping down a bit

I found that the 'JUMP' action Use`s the Stam.. in a large chunks... only as you fall back, is the meter still, Then you Jump again.. taking another Large chunk.. if your Timing is off the Jumps are Small or a short Fall, However, still use's the same large chunk of Stamina, Everytime.. I use the Same stamina, just running, and it takes smaller bite's, of the Stam pool.. I often Pass, the Jumping Beans.. as they Slow BIG TIME.. UP HILL.. I do Not Slow, up hill.. You, also work harder at the Button mashing, Then I HAVE Too.. 🤔 Just My Opinion.. Happy New Year!!

"Tis but a scratch" becomes way better when you play on Hard and basically mandatory when you play on HC. As with spears, it might be me, or it might be the diff settings, buti find them way more worth than knives. The damage and range is great, the damage reduction is even better, especially when you have shield on your back. If you really screw up, just do 360° to take hit to your back. Also, ironically, i am absolutely trash when it comes to aiming, no matter the game. But i have, somehow, become very good at throwing spears in every game we play. Icarus, Conan Exiles, Valheim, Mount and Blade... As you said, very usefull talent in cooking/farming is the ability to have extra food in your tummy. You can never have too many food buffs. Also the nice buff increases. And melee dmg increase. Side note, i never use worshop items aside from suit and suit modules, so that might change my perspective. Over all, very good video, that is still relevant even after the changes!

honestly, priorities be carry weight/wieght reduction, stamina and stamina regen the most. Movement speed after, more stamina more often means more getting done and more experience, more carry wieght means less pit stops to base means more time to get more done. More movement speed means less time between getting to and from locations and more time getting stuff done
@mutatgaming8627 Жыл бұрын
Lucky strike will reduce the amount of ore you get. You can test this buy farming the first exotics mission with and without the talent . If you do a bell curve of the ore received you will notice the build without lucky strike will always net more.

I don't know about you but not having to worry about projectile speed and lead with guns is already a huge improvement over bows or crossbows, animals don't seem to mind the loud noises anyway and rifle ammo is cheap as hell (especially after a forest fire), plus getting 4000 damage on a headshot is not something to scoff at, rifle ammo stays powerful without the need to make any high tier variants Plus I get to make explosive ammo for the shotgun I'm going to also say what I told my friend who joked about my obsession with guns, "if I wanted to use a bow, I'd be banging rocks together in a cave" PS: I've done 4 missions with friends so far, it literally took me one cave and 10 minutes almost every time to get to the basic Rifle and some 50 cartridges, I'd rather do that than spend the exotics in the workshop for the premade bows when I could be getting Modules and other equipment that speeds up the process

Do keep in mind that lucky strike (1% chance of instantly breaking what you are mining) can also be a big deficit for someone who likes to make emergency shelters in stone rocks on the move. As the risk is pretty big that if you are making an emergency shelter, you suddenly break the entire rock you are trying to make the emergency shelter out of.

Listening to his opinion of each talent it honestly feels like to me he does not play the game and certainly not with friends. I ran a Responder character whoes main is pack weight, herbalism, stone buildables, storm resistance, stam regen, movement speed, gathering, stealth, reduced useage of food/air/water, medic and each of the biome master talents. Zero combat. My character can bring the whole group thru a storm in the arctic when everything that can go wrong does go wrong. Sounds like all hes done is strict mid maxed for easy difficulty open world. Things dont go according to plan otherwise on Icarus. And he strips everything to barebones calling 90% of the tree useless. Im sorry but theres a difference between niche and useless, and a niche character in a group is the difference between everybody wiping 45minutes out away from base vs everybody getting picked up and making it thru to objective finish. 90% of the tree isnt useless lmao.
@temperedfox Жыл бұрын
Majority of the talent pool is flavour and personal choice. Frankly, if you wanted a "hard" experience, you can get by without taking a single talent as none of them are essential or required to play the game. They mostly offer you a choice to ease your burden in certain categories, and is subjective. For example - I hate running multiple trips to gather resources, so I pick all the talents related to highest yield and reduced over-encumbered penalty which makes me able to continue foraging and gathering until I am sitting with over 500kg of items quickly and still able to forget about over-encumbered de-buff and travel with much of a speed de-buff. Is it necessary? No. Is it useful for me personally and helps me avoid the part of the game I find boring? Yes. Someone else might enjoy this part of the game and therefore would think the opposite of me.
