I think it's generally speculated that Finetivus (or however it's spelled) was based off of Zachary as a sort of spiritual successor on account of Fleetway being done with and Zachary not being able to come back in his own series

*aCtUaLlY,* Starline does have venom in his spurs. He uses it to paralyze the prison ward later on in the comic. Also, the platypus and a few subspecies of the echidna are the only living monotremes, but there is at least one more family that is only known from fossils. I guess we’ll be getting that one once Sonic is bought by Disney like everything else.

another fun thing that ties this all together is if you look at evan stanley's concept designs for starline, the dude really starts to look similar to an echidna when you see the different ways his hair could've been styled. Still really fun that you see how they carried over knuckles' design elements into a platypus character considering theyre both monotremes aside from just the hair but also the bendy tails they got going on.

There is a sonic creepypasta now for him. The character’s name is chaotix, and his story is that he is tails but he isnt complete. When ever he finds someone he thinks has his code, he will go into his 2nd form and take their code. His first form is knuckles with lighter fur and 1 pupil. His 2nd form has the same color palet as wechnia, but with 1 eye and he is taller

This is based on how Mighty was supposed to be Sonic, and how "Sonic Crackers" is the earliest prototype of "Chaotix'; it was a pitch rom with Sonic and Tails in it.

There is a creepypasta but it's more of a fan made backstop. Wechina is a fragmented piece of tails who just wants to be whole again though any means necessary. If Wechina suspects that someone is his missing piece he will track them down and stalk them and eventually kill them. If he kills someone who wasn't a piece of him the Wechina can revive said being into doing Wechina's bidding

When it comes to Wechnia, I really like Cylent-Nite's interpretation: he was Pachamac's bastard son that started his own tribe to wage revenge against his dad and the Knuckles Tribe for abandoning him, but didn't succeed and was imprisoned in an unseen, 7th White Chaos Ring, while his son, who was still part of the Knuckles Tribe, was punished for his father's treason by being burdened with the responsability to protect the Master Emerald. 4,000 years later, while Knuckles' Chaotix is happening, Sonic and Tails are going through the same island, looking for the 7th ring, they find it and Wechnia (who is now a ghostly entity) posesses Tails, causing plenty of hijinks and leaving him with phasmophobia.

When the description said characters, plural, for a moment I thought this was about Ian's pet recolour. Fortunately the timeline and comments proved that not to be the case, so... _continue._ As an aside, I find it amusing that we've gotten four and a half characters based on glitches (I say half because Starline is more based on one of the glitch characters than he is on a glitch himself and Zachary is probably a coincidence), and while it's a roughly even split between ones that were good and ones that were... not, all the good ones were based on Wechnia. Finitevus is one of the best things Archie did, the other being Nicole. He's an amazing antagonist, and proof that Ian can do damn good villains when he's not just giving Eggman and Scourge free wins. His aura being black is lowkey one of the standouts, it really stands out compared to the normal green, or the red and blue brought in by Shadow's game and the gold of Super forms. Starline, meanwhile, got something right that the Sonic comics have been struggling with ever since they started trying to put Eggman at the top of the villain pantheon. That is to say "Why the fuck does anyone work for this man?" The comics lean hard into the "Insane manbaby" side of Eggman, and whereas that would normally raise too many questions, Starline finally manages to strike the balance. He respects and admires Eggman's creations, but is disillusioned by his attitude and wants to force him to become better.

@Game Apologist I recall from the fan letters page that a fan asked if Dr. Finitevus and Scourge's green coloring and black crown was based on the glitches Wechina and Ashura, which got a yes. (Scourge's connection to Ashura would be repeated also in Sonic Super Special Magazine Issue 1) Furthermore Ian also said on the Bumblecast that Thrash's design comes a single frame of Sonic & Knuckles' title screen where you switch between Sonic and Knuckles there is a purple hedgehog/echidna mix of the two characters.

The whole line of stars thing coming full circle made the video even better. I learned some new stuff from this video like how Charmy came from the Sonic Manga, how Fleetway's Sonic the Comic had it's own white echidna, and how the glitch echidna from Knuckles Chaotix is represented by a line of stars. I fell like a obsessed Star Gate fan taking a quiz qbout the show and missing a few questions, best thing is that I'm learning a lot from this. Also I have branched out and watched the rest of your videos, I think I only haven't seen two of them and most of the Sonic Speed Reading videos except for the start of the IDW one since I had to catch up to avoid spoilers, it was definitely worth it. I absolutely love doctor Starline and what I learned tonight after watching this video makes me a door the villain even further. The only thing I think that would make him even better, would be if there is a scene where doctor Starline is launched into the air and when he's descending we see him in an awkward sitting like possession and he is flapping his arms and legs about. And then another scene, when Eggman and other villains are posing making some sort of antagonist monologue simply see Star Line in the background walking in place with his expression and eyes completely fixated on anything except what's going on in the moment.

Dr. Zachary (Sonic the Comic) and Dr. Finitevus (Archie SatAM) are the same being; once all the dimension fragments (of the original whole story) merged together, and for the most part, every character who exists in multiple dimensions become a perfect amalgum, so did these two when the came close enough to each other. Hence, HIS name is Dr. Zachary Finitevus... Zachary was simply the manifestation of Finitevus' final destiny; only the Regenesis event (that completely restores the planet and finishes the dimensional reforging *properly*) ALSO now starts a healing on him. A different Dr. Zachary soon comes into existance, who is really the virtuous, pure being Finitevus once was...

Knuckles always seemed to have the coolest bad guys in the archie comics I always enjoyed the decorations of most of the characters that were the same species as Knucks especially the ones that were different colors from the standard reddish orange that echidnas from Sega are known for

There are actually three characters based on glitches in the comics- those being Surge the Tenrec, Kitsunami the Fennec, and of course, Starline the Platypus. The trio are based on the Sonic Team Trio, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles respectively, but with their glitch counterparts as the base- Surge is based on the "Ashura" glitch from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Kit being based on the "Blue Knuckles" glitch from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles (Presumably the tails equivalent to complete the trio as well as the game calling it Tails even though it's Knuckles with Sonic's colors and abilities,) and Starline being based on, well, **********/"Wechnia" from Knuckles' Chaotix.

Angel Island zone isn't an entire island, only part of it. Marble Garden isn't a garden. And it seems very city-like. Note that it also has methods of transport like boats in Mania. Additionally, every zone in Sonic 3 is two words: Angel Island, HydroCity, Marble Garden, Carnival Night, Flying Battery, IceCap, Launch Base. Also, Sonic Generations' and Sonic Mania's sound test and OST call it "Hydro City". Additionally, every word beginning with "Hydro-" has it pronounced Highdrough, as it is a common Greek prefix.

This reminds me of Thrash the Tasmanian Devil from the end of the pre-reboot Archie book. That character based off of the image you see in Sonic 3 and Knuckles when you switch between Sonic and Knuckles and pause the game in the in-between frames.

You know what the wechida reminds me of? Rankles, a british april fools contest to find a spikey ankled green "otter" who was essentially Knuckles' Tails. Of course the art was just a green knuckles with weird ball feet but someone found a glitched pallet of knuckles that matched said fake character and sent it in, of course he didn't win cause again it was a joke
