Haha same, I've generally thought of it as a collection is an organised hoard... as soon as you have so much stuff that you can't organise them and it just piles up then I'd say it becomes a hoard (and a problem when you don't want to do anything about it)

And I really enjoy hearing you talk about them so passionatly and telling the back story on how you got them and where they come from and all that. I have some cell phones in their unopened sealed box like an Ericsson GH198, an Ericsson GH388, and a Motorola 7200 from our early cellphone years, a Sony Ericsson K300i from 2007 in its sealed box,and a small LG smartphone from the beginning of the Android era in its sealed box.(Android 2.3 I think) And I have a very rare 286 laptop from 1987, designed in Hungary, and everything works inside. Including its lead acid battery. Built completely from desktop stuff with 2 extra ISA slots under the keyboard, and a B&W CGA LCD screen.

So very fun to see all the GameBoys! I myself have a few, not a collection but like 9 or 10. My first GameBoy was the Swedish edition GameBoy that happens to have just been released when I was at the store to get my first GameBoy. My second one was the GameBoy Pikachu Edition and so on. But I think my most “valuable” GameBoy is my SP Final Fantasy - boxed and so on. All units have been loved and played with a lot so the value of my units are probably very low but I don’t care since I’m not going to sell any of them anyway.

Elliot, Please do more videos showing off more of your collection. On a different note, I remember when the DMG first hit the market in Christmas of '89. I am 47. I remember Toys "R" Us getting 3 or 4 cases of them in and they disappeared faster than a pizza at a Weight Watchers convention. So no luck there or any other store that I tried. Fortunately, good ole mom came to the rescue. She was living in a different state at the time and she found one and sent it to me for that Christmas. From there I had every version of the Game Boy that was released. Good times. Good memories.

cool stuff indeed, i got a gameboy pocket the year it was released for christmas and i loved it very much. due to my brother owning an original gameboy before the pocket cameout and i don't think he ever used to let me use it lol. if he didn't i don't hold it against him since i was the worst as a kid. and i may have messed it up.

I got a green nintendo DSI LL like that from amazon Japan it was from 2011 and I think it was unopned it still was in that styrafoam thing you used to slide them out of. I also have the poke park ds I got that one when it was new. I got a green gb pocket from japan last year for a quite a low price some how I have 2 of them would like to sell one. I got very lucky two years ago. I often peruse ebay in search of pokemon themed nintendo consoles. And as it happens, one fateful day on September 6th, 2020, I found myself a Dialga & Palkia DS Lite in fully working condition, gba cover and stylus for $22.50 CAD. It had some dead pixels, so after a screen replacement it has become my play console. Still can't believe it.
