This is not a BL Series, this is real life. I love Thai and Taiwanese BL series but this one's the best for many reasons. It deals with realistic circumstances and gets better every episode. The actors are so amazing and the plot is well-thought. It's great how this single episode touched a lot of issues: dealing with loss, moving on, forgiving oneself, changing for the better, family acceptance, and most importantly acknowledgement that no one should force someone out of their closet for whatever reason. This is perfection! Looking forward for Gav and Cai to meet soon...

Cai's father died demonstrating unconditional love for his gay son. Which makes it even more heartbreaking because parents like him deserved the longest, happiest lives. But I feel there's a lesson here for straight parents (present & future). Straight parents are so enveloped in hetero normalcy that it never occurs to them that their children could have a different sexuality than them. If you are (or will be) a straight parent who loves & accepts their kids no matter their sexuality, make it clear to them early on. "I'll love you whether you like girls or boys". Don't wait until they've "come out" to you after having to suffer for years.
@NakamotoYutaismyhusband4 жыл бұрын
That was beautifully written🥺🥰 I personally don’t have a label for my sexuality bc I’m into both females & males but I rather (& only have) dated males but not females. So for the longest I thought I was bi but other females started telling me that I might be Queer. But I don’t really know so when people ask of my sexuality, I just say, “I don’t have a label”💯
@NakamotoYutaismyhusband4 жыл бұрын
Sorry for my ramble lol😅 basically what I wanted to say is that, ur paragraph was amazingly worded & I appreciate it☺️ my mom told me that she wouldn’t mind if I’m into females but I haven’t told her exactly what I’m into yet beside males lol😬 but anyways, have a great day or night :)

The comments are full of well-deserved praise for Elijah, but I'd like to heap some praise on Kokoy too. His sincere smile never fails to brighten my day. But what really impresses me are his subtle transitions from smiling and joking around to concern, worry, sympathy or sadness. They're so subtle, genuine, believable, real. Imo this is what makes for good, really solid acting and hopefully should take this talented young actor far.
@filipbong4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Not to take anything away from Elijah, but his grieving role in this episode requires him to bawl his eyes out and does he do it well vs Kokoy's role which is suitably restrained and limited to showing sympathy and giving strength to Cai from afar. Kokoy's nuanced acting effectively balances out the melodrama in this episode.

this BL tackles a lot of issues..... - pandemic - losing loved ones - it's not easy for everyone coming out as gay - family, their love and support is very important - mental health and how it can be triggered in this time of crisis - friendship (good and bad side) - acceptance of who you are - communication - and most of all, LOVE in all forms this episode is emotional from the start but the ending really made my heart flutter..i want to be Gav's baby BUT i have to give way to the deserving Cai.. to everyone, love and accept who you are and as long as you are not hurting anyone, don't apologize for being true to what you really feel..LOVE has no gender, it has no limit, it is universal!

I was nervous about this episode, especially after how ep 7 ended. It was done magnificently. It had all the right elements of sadness, grief, forgiveness, understanding, and acceptance. It didn't overplay or linger on the grief, but it was very respectful to whats going on in the world rn. I can't get enough of this drama, it's current, refreshing, adorable.

it's so hard to explain to foreign viewers, but being called "anak" by your parents hit SOOOO differently, especially when they say it personally (not just through text or chat). it's like receiving a warm tight hug, it shows that they accept you no matter what. "anak" is filipino for "my child". the pronouns in the Philippine language are non-gender specific. older people may actually even call you "anak" even tho you're not related in any way. it means that we treat each other as family. hahahaha, another insight on Filipino culture. 🇵🇭

"Gameboys" the Series is serendipity at its finest. You have a film company that is passionate about representation of the marginalized. A director who is not only smart, but also abstemious in his treatment of the material handed to him. A screenwriter who trusts fully in the intelligence of his audience. A cast of actors who, across the board, are absolutely excellent at their craft, and are avowed allies of the LGBTQ+ community. Two lead actors who inhabit their characters so honestly and unapologetically -- raw and powerful and real. And all of them working in collaboration to give the viewing public an amazing work of art that is specifically and unequivocally relevant to the times, while at the same time giving a refreshing take on love and loss, family and friendship, and the triumph of the human spirit. Thank you, The IdeaFirst Company. 💜
