I like how this mod takes elements from Mario 2 and Super Mario World, while trying to stay true to Mario 3. I also like the updated graphics and backgrounds that came with later remakes on the GBA and All-Stars.

This is easily in my top Mario hacks of all time. Amazing. The others for those who are interested are Invictus and YUMP2, both SMW hacks and 3Mix (a NES SMB3 hack). 3x though is literally what it says on the can. SMB3 remixed. Remixed so well that it could be a legit SMB3 2nd quest from Nintendo official and no one would even consider it being a hack. The main omissions so far from the hack is the iconic underground World 4 stage and no Kuribo's should in World 5. Also as iconic as the leaf is in SMB3, this hack feels like it was designed to be better without it. It is super rare and trivialised a lot of this already easy but really fun hack. Also removing Pipe Maze world from the hack goes against the spirit of this hack. Though Piranha Hills 2, is a tolerable compromise. Should have been a whole world and not just one stage, but better than nothing. Thee chain chomps are buggy. Despite these obvious flaws, the hack is still really good. What it does well, it does really well. Also this TAS of it. It's defo tool assisted. But not a speedrun. It is more of a showcase of the hack which I feel is even better. This is the kind of video many of us really like to watch and chill to. Well done, you've earned my sub.

I personally find it really hard to go back to Super Mario Bros 3 due to the tank like controls. Mario handled like a Truck. Even though I thought Super Bros 3 was gen for gen the better Mario game compared to Super Mario World, the one thing Nintendo got right with the latter is how extremely responsive Mario was to control. However, in saying that, it's no big achievement considering the handling in Super Mario Bros 2 was also very good and that game was quite a few years older.

If the 80s US Nintendo execs hated SMBLL--and reportedly they did, this one would give 'em the heebie-jeebies! Still, I enjoy difficult platformers that aren't also nearly impossible*! They kind of get my adrenaline going...A game has to be really fun for me to like it if it's easy. On the other hand, it doesn't really need to be all that fun(if it's hard): SMBLL is an example, as I kind of enjoyed that one. SUPER JOB! *SMBLL included!

By my count, this thing pays tribute to at least 11 Mario games (depending on how you count them): Mario Bros. (the crab enemies) Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros 2 (Jp.) Super Mario Bros 2 (USA) Super Mario Bros 3 Super Mario Land Super Mario World Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Super Mario 64 (the bullies) Super Mario All-Stars (most sprites are in the SMAS style) Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (GBC - the collect 5 red coins - not dino coins! - thing) It has levels that pay homage to levels in the games it's referencing without just remaking those stages, too. This one romhack is a better tribute to the Mario series than anything Nintendo has done to celebrate the series. Masterful stuff, Mirumo! Great job! Oh, and the TAS was pretty good, too. ;)

THIS is why super mario bros 3 IS better than smw .. world is great but simply doesn't play with the same flow or precision,the Cape for instance is a step backwards from the leaf and tail,the set piece world areas in smb3 were also better with more defined and interesting places to explore,the power ups were better too. Smw .. the good bits are most certainly the secret areas,yoshi, the underused wall running,it is for sure a stellar game and its music is astounding to say the least and it's graphics were in some way just advanced and modern and super cool but then so was super mario 3 with its 3 dimensional backdrops and platforms but super mario world took that concept and pushed the envelope. Smb3 to me,is the very best 2d mario game,possibly the best ever 2d platform game,this hack is awesome I see some nice adventure island stuff in this mod :) another great game,I wonder if this is a rom hack that's using the mario allstars+W rom either way it's superb,the only other hacks I really like looks wise are those that are based on smb3 or smw but running off yoshi island graphics engine
