Yep, and because of the methods of purchase (Future holdings, basically pre-ordering the shipment for a good price to send on to a second buyer, usually by people who actually PERSONALLY cannot store the oil) people were forced to sell at a loss or even pay others to accept the oil since people without storage for it didn't want thousands of gallons of crude oil delivered to their doorstep

Its expensive to stop producing oil and demand took a nosedive, its expensive to store oil so it can be cheaper to literally pay people to take it off of your hands rather than have to somehow store a whole lot of crude oil.

More Supply drops the Price. Secondly, From Co-Vid 19, less people are traveling place to place since they're mostly staying home. Less Demand drops the Price. Together the oil price per gallon dropped at one point was negative $2 per half a pint of crude oil.
