I don't really do a lot of these kind of videos but I thought it would be fun. Watch the video to see Gamecube and PS4 versions of Resident Evil 4!

gamecube was better in my opinion due to the creepier atmosphere, controls and the controller otself felt amazing in my hands. gamecube for the win

I think the Gamecube looks better. it may not be 1080, but the lower resolution blends in better

Don't matter which version you play you'll have a great time with this game what made it so fun was it was a new play style it had a learning curve once you learned how to play it became better & better the longer you go without dying the harder it gets & each time you die the difficulty goes down. It had good boss fights had some elements of horror in it & The BOW's they had were more than what was in 5 & 6.

Rob Kearsy I agree. I remember back when i was 12 playing this for the first time with my cousin. We would get so scared playing at night lol and them trying to solve those puzzles. Those were the days...

Played this version, then PS2, then PS3, and finally Steam's ultimate version. Gamecube still the best because of the art design for GC (cut-scenes, atmostphere, style gameplay) Today's version are just high-end graphic detail but no art design-improvement by basing it from their system-platform. You can still see some texture but most of them, as physical object, are a little squared. Little & easy improvement for such advance hardware, lack of detail-enhancement such doors, walls, rocks, etc. Ada's cutscene until now are still the same render from Playstation 2. Lazy job from Capcom imo.

PS4 graphics are far superior than GC version, I owned the GC version and purchased the PS4 version. It was re released for PS4 owners to play it as well. I ended up getting the PS4 version and trading the GC version in.

Gamecube looks scarier somehow. Maybe it's the slight blur, that makes you wonder "dying bush or enemy"?

PS4 version is stellar. However... There's just something about the OG build of RE4. It was made specifically for the gamecube. The runaway success of RE4 was not forseen by capcom. In fact, in leaked memos and emails to capcom HQ, Capcom wanted to move Resi away from home consoles and into exclusively mobile platforms. RE4 was led to believe to be the last home console release..... This is why it took almost 4 years between RE4 to RE5 lol. Resi 4 was not suppose to be the utter masterpiece it became nor go on to be, at the time, the best selling game in the series by over 4 times compared to the older best selling game in the series- Resi 2. Resi 4 is a perfect example of lightning in a bottle and true innovation in gaming. I don't think Resi will ever be this innovative nor impacting as Resi 4 was. Resi 4 made the over the shoulder Third Person Camera not only viable. But the future. It highly impacted Gears of War, which.... Really, set the tone for all third person shooters and action games of that gen. Resi 4 was a watershed of greatness and innovation. And it all started on the whim of making it the last home console release and making it with heart and passion as the swan song for the series. How great it was and still is to this day.

Not really the addition of roundhouse kicks led the RE series to the shithole it was stuck in forever until Biohazard. The only thing this shitty game had going for it was the story, and even that was horrid. My memories of this was continued frustration over the gameplay on the good ole game cube. I recently purchased this on my Xbox(after playing the RE2 and RE3 remakes I wanted to get back in the RE world) and the game is still the same ole bullshit. If they do a remake (and I really hope they don't because this game was NOT my fav in the series, fuckin Code Veronica is better than this) they better make it better. Like better than this orignal and better than the RE3 remake - waste of 90bucks that was

Tank controls feel extremely outdated. I remember playing it in GameCube and felt like something from another world but now it feels like shit. Graphically it has stood the pass of time very well.

GameCube version had high poly assets. Everything since then has been the ps2 port just at a higher red. Its basically a bizarre downgrade.

It is harder. Enemies have more health, some weapons are weaker and the knife isn't as strong.

I'm pretty excited about this actually. RE4 and Final Fantasy 7 are the two games I've purchased the most. RE4 I've bought for the GameCube, wii, and the ps3. Why use GameCube to compare with ps4? It's only better than ps2. You show compare it with ps3 or Xbox.

Gamecube version will be always the best version, Capcom did it very bad porting this game to every plataform existing, Resident Evil 4 could be more legendary if only exist in GameCube and Playstation 2

I do agree that this video didn't work in many ways. It was my first comparative video and I really didn't know what I was doing. I tried something diffrent from other vids but I guess it didn't go over well. I never expected that this video would get the amount of views it did. I've only done one other comparative video, but none after that cause other youtubers do a much better job than I could.
