Cutscenes are still technically part of the game, and before or during certain cutscenes character models get loaded in early (like Marvin being the reception) so they can smoothly load during scenes

you got it right, it's called prefabs, some game assets are already loaded at a certain coordinate usually (0, 0, 0), waiting for scripts to move them to the place.

what happen if you use the fuse before you meet marvin? to start you should add bolt cutter to your inventory : 2:23 chair animation doesn't work 3:10 ok, let's check it out 3:23 the cinematic trigger is still here, two zombies won't pass through the rolling door even it open widely 3:59 marvin will be waiting until you get into trouble 5:33 ok, lets check the entire RPD 6:02 the animation trigger doesn't work (the corpse of a cop whose mouth was torn) 6:07 surprisingly all the wooden boards are in place 6:35 there are no enemies in the hallway 6:48 climbing animation doesn't work so you can't pass through glass window to jump down to another side 7:28 no enemy in the west office and possibly in the entire RPD 7:34 you can not interract with the strong box 7:47 the lockers are empty and the key card is floating 8:34 the steam from the pipes is not coming out 8:56 no licker animation in the hallway 9:07 you can not interract with the PC so you can not open the door 9:49 there is an invisible wall 10:11 you can not place the C4 detonator to blow up the wall 10:22 walk through walls mod 10:49 strangely there was a piece of balcony on the floor even though the balcony was not damaged 10:59 you can not move the bookshelves 11:28 maybe claire cinematic can change something 12:55 and yes its right, apparently the enemies returned to normal 13:25 marvin is still alive and laid down in the sofa, he moved his position 14:05 after claire cinematic the game worked normally 14:12 some animations and enemies returned 14:46 there is some delayed dialogues with marvin 15:25 and one last thing, the front door barricades were never placed

So basically most games uses "CUTSCENES" as "LOAD SCREENS" where the game is preparing the next phase when you are watching a cutscene in order to the game load their assets correctly the cutscene needs to give the "Green Flag" first. Good video man!

No, it does not work like this. It places the game mechanics; enemies, items, puzzles, etc, based on triggers. He skipped one trigger so the game does not put in place the mechanics. Loading in this game works differently, and it is working just fine despite the skipped trigger. Everytime you change room, it loads all adjacent rooms in memory and unloads which are not adjacent anymore in the background.

it can't be done...unfortunately the code of the game is so advance...this is why, even after a year in the modding community we can't add more characters to the game just like in the old games.

Surprisingly enough, if you teleport yourself to the reception right before Birkin's second fight you will find Annette Birkin where Marvin is. I guess the game will load a character to that position before they appear in a cinematic scene.

curious about two things: 1. if you save and load in such broken state will it help the game to recover? 2. that animation point near the shifter door (the place where you meet Marvin for the first time) - it was still active after animation with falling helicopter and Claire. What if you activate it in the very end - will the game restart? :)

You missed another opportunity, you should have tried to trigger the shutter animation again after the helicopter crash to see what would happen, the prompt looked like it was still there.

I once played the game with an item randomizer, the game crashed there when the cut scenes got mixed (and messed) up. I guess that would happen here too, and he knows that. That's probably why he hasn´t done that.

Esto no som bugs ni glitches. Para que los videojuegos funcionen, detrás tiene que haber un código que limite y determine las acciones. En este caso, (sin haber visto el código fuente del juego) estoy seguro que lo que has hecho es saltarte un condicional (if en programación) el cuál hace que una vez te encuentres con Marvin se habiliten determinados eventos. Así que no, no son ni bugs ni glitches.
