@GameEdged Thank you for taking your time going through the building menu so we can see what materials are used for the different builds because other content creators tend to quickly roll over them. When new players start the game, there are 3 things they should have near their camp in order to increase their survival rate - berry bushes, ocean shoreline (quick access to the fisherman's dock), and yes - that flat narrow rock with holes in the top of it, known as the Natural Water Collector at which you place a water well directly on top of it so you have an endless supply of water. You have built your camp far away from where you found that rock so you'll be doing a lot of running. Also, those flags you were looking at, be careful of how and where you place them because they cannot be remove once placed. In this video you are on day 3 so prepare yourself for a Blood Moon (raid attack) that tends to occur between day 4 & 6 or they will destroy everything you've built. Happy gaming!

You must have clothes by the first winter and plenty of food stocked up. Best source of red meat are mini crawlers just inside the iron mine, they respawn and are easily dispatched. Can't over emphasize the need to stock up food, clothes and firewood for yourself and NPCs. Get your NPCs to do most of the building or you will run out of time before the invasion just prior to winter number 2 at 56 days. My group is at day 54, still don't have iron weapons, it's unlikely we will survive the invasion. Good luck.

You can get fibre from reeds/thatch the same way you do bark in your inventory. Press Q while looking at your builds to pin the recipe so you know what you need to finish it

Loving this game so far I got hooked on the demo. It does need some work with balancing the invasions. Monsters are a bit over powered imo. To get the best start for your village you need to find a spot close to a mine and to wolves for taming pups and also to a meat source the deer like creatures or the bunny looking things. I found a really good seed dxo4cG3BcN5qkxjDL8wZDI0KBPMZQBagx2kPTQiOhDgpSwaR when you first spawn in travel clockwise around the island and it's probably not even half a day travel from spawn. There's a mine fairly close to the coast and a wolf den not far away also deer spawn behind where the mine is

what separates this and games like this from other survival games is the implementation of colony sim in a survival game Only hand ful of game does it because of how challenging it is Survival games have always been lonely if you are playing SP This new sub genre is attempting to defy that and I am all here for it

Yes GE, you have to build the well on one of those natural water source rocks, like the one you drank from. You'll just have to look around till you find one near your camp.

Tried the demo and loved it so far. Love to see you play more of this one. One thing found helpful so far was the terrain adjustment. The initial square is the level you are making all the squares to so if you pick a higher slope you can make a slight defensible mound that you can build your settlement on for added defense of the bloodmoon mobs that regularly spawn and get harder as you go on. Also the deer like animals are much easier to kill then the rabbit things and give a lot more meat.
