Because they are dead, at least in terms of MP and that's what people really stick around for. 3 hours with an RTS and the AI is easy to beat. Look at Homeworld 3. It was dead in a week, down to 400 players active at peak and now it's like 200~ people a day. Iron Harvest was dead on arrival, too. The games are coming out but there's no one actually playing them.

RTS is dead in terms of money "AAAA" producing companies can make from them. Indie has to do be the ones to keep it alive. Also the same reason why FPS is so popular is the same reason RTS is not. Intuitive controls. FPS/3rdPS or RPG are usually easier for new comers to enjoy because you are just moving your character around with few inputs. RTS is the exact opposite. Its on the lower end of played genres and like fighting games they suffer in multiplayer thanks to the large learning curve.

Rise of Legends has always been my favorite, but now I'm hyped for Stormgate and Immortal Gates of Pyre. The characters in these games are so well-crafted and they retain the base management and army control.

It has some World in Conflict Vibes, but it feels and plays totally different. It's not a world in Conflict but it's a very very good game. It's more like Warno, but much better than warno. I played single and multi-player Betas of Broken Aroow.

Cataclismo seems fun. Creating unique defensive structure. The rest, once you grasp the pattern of Ai, everything will be repetitive, monotone And predictable. Players are still the most challenging opponents in thw game. From crazy stunts to enigmatic tactics at their arsenal. You'll know when you played "Foxhole"

i will say they need to stop with the fornite alike graphics in videogames age of mythology retold looks like a game for 5 years old. by the way all the remakes on masterpiece videogames just a few have being good like 3 of 10 they could do it way more better. like in RE4 Leon looks like he's promoting a shampoo brand with that hair. they didn't keep the original Campaing and Characters looking badass and truly realistic.

Bullshit, if you played demos of any mentioned games, like Tempest Rising or Global Conflagration, you would realize you are wrong. RTS genre is not dead, you can speak for yourself, that your brain is dead that cannot play RTS anymore, but don't spread pessimism around for younger player base.
