@@Mortimer107 This much, I can guess why. The AI is programmed to always go after the player in first position, no matter what the optimal decision would be. However, it was also programmed with the ability to understand that Dan had a boo repellant, so it knew that it had to remove Dan's repellant first with a coin steal, with the expectation that this would allow a star steal next time.

Because the AI is programmed to target the first player at all times, but also programmed to recognize that if the first player has a boo repellent, to steal coins to get rid of that repellent so the next steal goes through.

I really hope they play the 1v1 mode as well (it's called "Duel Map" and Aaron was hovering on at the end). It has pet battles and is the ONLY mario party with this mode. Chances are that they won't play it though... Also, they could play story mode if they want, there is some plot behind it but they would have to play through every map in the game and I don't think they would want to do that (but who knows).

Ok that Motor Rooter race mess up is more fair than I thought. When he said it changes direction on you. He would see he needs to move left and hit left only to have his character move right and when he hit right his character would move left. I looked it up, turns out the controls are based on clockwise not handedness. So when you want to go left and to go right you push left. Except when you want to go left and go right you press right. Clockwise bottom and top for the former and counterclockwise top and bottom for the latter.
