About the lobsters: Lobster was indeed considered the poor man’s food, but usually only if you lived by the coast. If you lived further inland lobster became expensive because it’s hard to keep lobster from spoiling when transporting it inland.

my "thats not chocolate" story -- used to keep a fish tank that consisted entirely of carnivorous species ( but species that were not interested in eating each other, don't worry, i ain't an idiot ). so they ate carnivore fish food and occassionally had some suppluments to fill out their diet. Meat scrap, crayfish bits, and related to this story, bloodworms. Blood worms are tiny reddish brown worms that are sold in little tin squares, kind of like those pill things where you have to push out each individual pill. I had thrown the box away to save space so these little dark brownish squares were stored in the freezer, visible, but unidentified by a label. My brother, famously, will take whatever he finds in the fridge and claim it as his own. He's like the worst fridge raiding coworker ever. I caught him SECONDS from putting a blood worm cube into his mouth. Stopped him before he succeeded "THATS NOT CHOCOLATE--" ...and that is why this story is ALSO one of my life's biggest regrets LOL that look in the eye with karma would probably have trained him to finally ASK before assuming any and everything is a public domain free for all

"Wan wan" is the sound a dog makes and -ko is a diminutive suffix so wanko is a slang or childish word for a puppy. Doron means to hide or slip away, so I think the idea is a cute puppy that's precocious and always getting into trouble.

Had to look up the meaning of 'Doronko' (covered in mud) but with that I can offer the meaning of 'Doronko Wanko' as 'puppy/doggy/doggo covered in mud'. 'Inu' is the Japanese word for 'dog' but 'wan' is their onomatopoeia for 'bark' (the sound a dog makes). '-ko' means 'child' and is a common morpheme used in names (usually girls' names). Hence, 'wan'+'ko' = literally 'bark child' but (less literally), puppy, doggy or doggo.
