The actual explanations of the comic covers are possibly even funnier than how bad the art is. That cover with 'two sonics' but one of them has brown human hair on top of his blue hedgehog quills? That's *sonic's dad.* The cover where Sonic is coming out of the TV? Those two kids? *THE ARTIST'S REAL LIFE FAMILY.* He drew a story about Sonic coming into the real world and meeting his own kids. This artist later sued Sega for ownership of his comic characters *and won,* resulting in the entire comic canon being reset and *nearly 200* characters (mostly echidnas that look almost exactly like Knuckles) being wiped from existence. The character Arin thought was Tikal was actually Ken Penders' Original The Character Lara-Su, who he is now publishing his own cursed comic books of whilst continuing to be angry at Sega for existing to this day. The sonic comics are a dark pandora's box

19:05 I think I know what Hell is. It's a realm in which you're trapped inside a poorly translated Japanese visual novel as the blank slated protagonist. Conversation is a chore because the writing is so generic. None of the characters actually speak, you have to read their subtitles, which is really hard since every other sentence has a either misspelled words and/or grammatical errors. Everything is at a snail's pace, not just because the dialogue is bloated and verbose, but also because the story is convoluted and full of holes. The worst part is you can't even have sex with the characters because contrivances appear out of nowhere to keep romantic and sexual tension at an all time high.

Seeing those old sonic comics, and the fact that I remember all the older character models, makes me feel old now. I do prefer the personality of Sonic in the comics compared to now. Like Mickey Mouse, he has a more developed personality in comics rather than the more "blank-slate" that's going on now. It's easy for merchandise, but a lot of effort has to be put in to bring out a compelling character.
