Portal is one of my favourite games, so when I found this Bitfenix Portal case I HAD to build my dream PC...

Don't go with skylake / cabylake , intel are dicks and they made the chipsets for them obsolete so you wont be able to upgrade with the motherboard you are planning to get.

so im doing the same build and Im one pcie power cable short when installing the gfx card. Ive got the same power supply. what went wrong?

How are the temps? I have a very similar build, down to the same MB, CPU, watercooler and using a 580 GFX card. When playing BF1 I am seeing very high GFX temps.

somewhat late heh, it can fit a 300mm long graphics card that is at most 130mm wide and i believe 40-50mm thick. Just for future readers

Mostly the case's design philosophy being white with black seams and having smooth edges all around. It also somewhat resembles the PC cases found in portal itself.

I think it's mostly because the new CPUs are 6 core instead of 4

However, unless he's planning on using the rig for video editing too, most modern games won't benefit from more than 4 cores, so, it's kind of a waste in that sense. That being said, it's his choice, ultimately.
