Honestly the more I see this game the more I want it. There is literally no other game that I know of that is an open-world zombie, story driven, 3rd person survival with over 1000 zombies on the screen chasing you at the same time. I'm really looking forward to it.

I watched the 1hr gameplay/commentary with the developers. It is confirmed there is no difficulty settings and you instantly die from one Freaker bite. Also bullets can kill you in 3-4 hits while at full health. So yeah it's definitely going to be difficult especially at night time because that's where the Freakers are at their strongest.

The motorcycle complaint sounds like the leviathan ace complaint in God Of War. Just trust the developers, it’s reason they choose certain mechanics/weapons for you to use. I think I’ll get this game when it comes out, looks interesting to me. The last good zombie game was dying light and I loved last of us, but we won’t get that until who knows.

The game doesn't look very promising to some, gunplay is weak, the story so far is bland and it's yet another game with zombies. My guess is most of the negativity towards the game comes from them showing the gameplay way too early even though the developers admit it needs much polishing.

I don't know why a Mad Max comparison hasn't been made yet. Mad Max was also a narrative driven post-apocalyptic open world game where you had to take care of your one and only vehicle, and like Deacon's bike Max's car also got damaged and required gas/upgrades. That game was awesome and really underrated. Out of all the games I've played I think it's probably the best comparison I can think of for Days Gone.

2236gaming I hope ammo is hard to come by because the zombies seem to go down pretty quick. To be fair, there are sometimes swarms of them and you might end up wasting a lot of that ammo. That being said, it's a survival game so finding ammo and parts should be challenging. Also, I'm glad they decided to not give the player the ability to change the difficulty. That would just take away so much of the SURVIVING...

8:18 is that Ryan Reynolds from Deadpool . After watching the first hour of footage on Gameinfomer's Website i can see one major problem that i hope doesn't persist throughout the running time. I can deal with the missing animations and lack of polish from its initial reveal to this present showcase because the former was probably a vertical slice to sell people on the teams vision for this game. However i really cant dismiss the fake choice system this game has implemented . At the start of the game ( shown in the aforementioned video ) The player has a choice to shoot a man in the head or leave him to be devoured by the undead, The developer then explains to the GI crew the importance of choice and the multiple consequences that will happen as a result of your actions which later turns out to be falsified. Each choice at the start ends the same way either you shoot the guy in the head or your Buddy shoots him in the head . The developer playing decides not to shoot the enemy and yet at the end of the video is still blamed for killing said enemy. I hope this was just a teaser choice and not how fake choices are implemented into the tale to tell a specific story.

MrAdamFC I don’t think you understand the point of these choices at all. For example, the one about shooting the guy. The choice wasn’t actually about being good or bad and the guy being shot wasn’t important at all. The actual physical outcome didn’t matter. The choice was actually about boozers opinion on Deacon. Shooting the guy would make Boozer respect you and leaving him to be eaten would make him lose respect for you. These choices impact the relationship between characters which the developer explained.

My main grievance with this system is the pointless nature of it ,When implemented into videogames. A few examples of fake choices slowing down a story and not adding to the overall plot would be the superb Bioshock infinte , Pick the bird or the cage it doesn't really matter the same story is told or the equally brilliant Spec Ops the line which I guess is the closest comparison in this case. You build up a rapport with your squad but each choice ends virtually the same because it has a specific tale it wants to tell. I'm not saying its a bad game or games that have these systems are instantly terrible because given the examples its usually the opposite but I do feel that these choices are pointless given the outcome they have and the story will remain the same . In this Alpha state ( I will give the mechanic could change) Literally stops the game dead in its tracks . Which could prove troublesome in the later hours. I don't want to have a scene in which we are running away from a horde with Boozer and then the game stops everything just to give you a choice to jump or fight .I'm not a game developer ( only studied it with people from Midway) However I feel a more organic choice system would be akin to the one found in Naughty Dog games like Uncharted 4 or the last of us . If I want to know more about ellie or Sam I can press a button to engage in a believable conversation and still enjoy the story . Instead of having the game take away control and force you to care about this character.

Dying Light.... Please do not forget Dying Light. It is still an amazing game that is an open world RPG. It's a bit loose on the story but it is probably closer to Days Gone than the others you mentioned. I really hope this game can be the same level of "good" for us zombie fans that Dying Light is with the added story driver of Last of Us.

It's a good thing it was delayed, if you look carefully during the one hour gameplay there's a few times when deacon is in hand to hand combat with a freaker and his arm will clip through their head or something. I love when they take the time to make sure the game is functioning before releasing it and i can't wait to play it when it does launch cause this looks like the best open world zombie game since the undead nightmare dlc

Me parece un grandísimo error que un título de Sony y más sabiendo lo bien que funcionó en HZD no tenga selector de dificultades. Es que no me cabe en la cabeza que no tenga algo para gente más buena y amantes de los retos, y luego otra para gente más inexperta. Es que da mucho reparo que puedas activar el modo Deacontive y puedas saber donde estan las trampas de los enemigos con un color fluorescente. Espero que pongan tres dificultades algo como en HZD: - Historia: Todas las ayudas visuales, más munición y curaciones, menos daño pro parte de los enemigos y más por el protagonista. - Days Gone: La experiencia jugable que han mostrado ahora. - Supervivencia: Todas las ayudas visuales eliminadas, exceptuando brujula, mision, salud, resistencia y munición, la habilidad focus (que ralentiza al disparar) no tiene que ralentizar tanto y tiene que tener menos tiempo, menos munición y curación. La moto se rompe al gastarse y lo hace rápidamente. Los zombies te destruyen con 2 golpes (así que mejor cuerpo a cuerpo evitarlo contra más de 2).

I like the idea of one level setting, "that is only if they give you a well rounded learning curve that helps you and don't kill you over and over this will make players get very frustrated with the game an never finish's it. Yes dying is a part of a game but just get to the point is that to not even have a reason to be worried about dying. I know with this said I am making it even header to play giving enough of a punishment that when they do die they lose a little of something or this game just becomes another run and gun and who cares for another game like that!

People get a load of it too early on and just build the hype and then you have to wait so long before the game is out. Then hype dies and no one cares.The watch dogs effect. What niggles me is that the guy on the left is negative with that comment about how the other two both like open world games then says how surprised they were positive about the game. Seems like you in your mind you were already trashing the game. Your outlook on games makes me question why these companies let you try the games early when you seem so surprised that you enjoyed the game. Blballerboy sadly thats an issue many gamers dont understand. Sure we've been looking at older versions of the game. But people in the comments get pretty angry at anyone who has an opinion that differs even for fully developed games. If someone is able to express their opinion as a critique instead of bashing on something with no essense of advice on how to fix it... Those are the people who deserve to be heard. Otherwise people need to learn to chill out instead of going rabid at the sight of another mind thinking differently. lol

Shoto - Didn't think I was that rabid about it haha. I appreciate that everyone has opinions and even as a game journalist you're not going to be super hyped about every game but I mean come on, he's "surprised" they liked the game seems a bit harsh as he's expecting them to not like it. My question is why? Why have such a negative feeling that some people you know who love this "genre" of games wouldn't like it. Too pessimistic for my liking. I just think I'd be a bit hurt if I gave you access to the game only to find out you were expecting not to like it when so far small snippits have been shown. It just baffles me.

I don't like the aiming ui or really any of the UI at all, please remove the mini map and add a compass. It makes the immersion a bit better. Also, the UI isn't good looking, please❤

I know its alpha but they need to polish this big time. Also they need to work on realistic interactions with objects. For exp the way he puts a gun on his back or when he picks those itims. Its unrealistic. More style and realism would be nice. they got something here, lets hoppe they do it right.

saksham khokhar if you watch thier last interview the developer said the game runs 30 frames a second on both pro and basic that's fucking sad for those consoles players it's pathetic hardware that costs almost if not more then a new graphics card and yet can't play games at 60 frames a second let alone true 4k or 1080 in 2018 is mind blwoing it's why I switched a long time ago and wait for these games to go on sale and buy a used console.
