Shooters have always been the best conservationists, because they understand the whole picture.

Not true, only hear say with no evidence. What the evidence does show is that 75% of all hen harriers breed and fledge on estates managed for shooting. Birds of prey live on almost 100% of land managed for game. The facts don't lie, only those that are against shooting sports

@@nationalgamekeepersorganis9866 It's been proven time and time again that Gamekeepers are responsible for the vast majority of raptor persecution. I lived in North yorkshire, I'm well aware of what takes place. On one occasion I came across a Buzzard long dead on a pole trap...discusting.

One of my customers asked a gamekeeper how to get rid of moles destroying their lawn. He told my customer to pour diesel down the hole in the molehill 😡 and you say shooters and gamekeepers know the best!! Gamekeepers are on the watchlist for shooting birds of prey and killing badgers and dumping them at the side of the road so it looks like a car hit them. I’m a professional pest controller and I can tell you that gamekeepers and shooters are not the best conservationists. Game keeping and shooting is just a business these days. I know more about conservation than any shooter.

All of the science says differently, game management activities create a raft of habitat and many species only thrive on game estates. 75% of all hen harriers breed and fledge on keepered moorland which also supports 90% of curlew populations. But why let hard facts get in the way of anti-gamekeeping narrative

@@nationalgamekeepersorganis9866 Funny that the vast majority of hen harriers that do fledge on moors managed for grouse shooting without being destroyed get shot, trapped or poisoned anyway before reaching their first year. The reason curlew have declined so drastically is due to degradation and fragmentation of breeding habitat and nest destruction. Predation plays a minimal part in their declines.
