I just switched from mid to top lane to better fit in with my friends 5 man team and man it's tough. I played mid GP enough to feel comfortable with him but the lane is so long and different that I keep losing when I'm practicing. Right now I want your feedback. What champion can beat Mordekaiser, other than sorta kinda GP even though he's easy to go even. I've started to dislike spam picking GP into morde since he requires a lot of practice with barrel mechanics and he's just hard overall. Wave management is nothing for beginners. The first time I actually encountered an opponent doing proper wave management was around Plat 4. Beginner-Tips would be stuff like when to ward the river, when to use your TP, how to play melee vs ranged and so on.

Never heard anyone saying that top is weak and adc is broken in the same sentence. I mean, adc is my weakest role (in 6 years of playing I had like 15 games as adcon bottom) and recently I started picking Jhin and Sivir when playing with friends. And you know what? Most of the time we won the lane like 5/2 and I had cs advantage, and still lost like 90% of those games even though I wasn't getting destroyed by mages / tanks /assassins. This role is just unable to carry in most matchups, unless you have good AoE like Aphelios

I've been playing a lot of Garen lately (he's more than in a good spot) and may I just add to the lane freezing. For newbies, pick a bruiser/tank champion as top to better understand freezing. You don't need to remember the gradient thing or the 3 minion rule thing. These are what you need to do to understand freezing. Rule #1 ALWAYS last hit minions ONLY. Rule#2 To permanently freeze, if your opponent is not doing the freeze, make sure your minions is less than opponent minions. How? = remember rule #1. Rule #3. There is always exception to the rule. If minion wave is too big, trim them up. opponent has to have at least 4 caster minions and no melee minions. As tank, you won't need to do aggro pulling. Simply tank those minions and don't let them into tower range. Garen pulls this off the best since his passive now activates even if hit by minions.

while you're freezing the minions, you might have messed up the minion's aggro when trading with the enemy laner near your freeze so it turns out to be a slow push. That's the only reason i can think of for now

The most likely mistake you are making is killing minions while they are too high hp. For an effective freeze, you have to attack a low hp minion at the same time your minions attack it, you only do this ONLY if the low hp minion is going to die from the attack of your minions. If you do it right you can virtually hold an infinite freeze just outside your tower range. Even if your opponent gets close and tries to farm; you just adjust your own damage to keep the freeze ongoing or break it as needed. Keeping track of both allied and enemy minions hp bars as well as what they focus is key to controlling a freeze. A minion dying from a 1v5 focus is going to make the push accelerate towards the side of that minion; if you want to continue freezing, you want to manage the aggro so that it spreads on different minions. A way of practicing is using a low attack melee champ, like Leona, on a custom with a friend, and practice last-hitting without any items that boost your attack damage. That way you will minimize the risk of breaking the freeze by accidentally killing a minion that had too high HP. Practice that until the 10 minute mark or until turret plating falls, without buying items; keep track of your CS and level after every time you finish and look for ways to improve. You will likely lose A TON of CS the first 50 games doing that, but it's probably the fastest way to learn the freezing mechanics.

To all newbies, freezing lane is really fun (and daunting), Last night, I was using garen and had a 4 level lead against tryndamere. Me: Garen = level 9 70-ish cs. Trynda = level 5 0/3 35-ish cs. Can't even farm or get xp since im zoning hard since I can 2v1. Jungler can't help. Trynda inted and went out of lane so I free pushed to inhib. We lost because opponent botlane Xayah is 17/1. (killed her once but too overfed) Even in best games, bad things happen.

Just a quick question to everyone. How to play against Mundo? I mean he's just a walking turret. If he doesn't do anything just presses ult and aoe and spams cleaver in random directions he's just invulnerable. As a meele I can't really play against him, because smaller trades are useless since he has no resource and regains 100%hp in a few secs, and I can't even run away because of his movement speed. I can't even farm safely because he spams cleaver, and if there are minions blocking he can still easily all-in even under tower because of his disgusting hp and hp regen. So any advice? He's not worth banning because he's not a common pick and I'd rather ban Teemo or Vayne or Quinn (I mainly play as tanks and they are picked more frequently so they are bigger threats).

First of all, it depends on the type of champion you pick against him. But usually, tank shredders (Garen with his E, Darius with his bleeding, Vayne's true damage on basic attacks) are the way to go. And if you are playing a bruiser, building black cleaver can be really good to affect his overall armor during a trade. Also, having something that inflicts grievous wounds (ignite, executionner's calling I think is the name?) can really cripple his regen. Always stay behind minions until he launches a cleaver, then try to punish him a bit, then quickly return back behind your minion and when you think you can finish him off, go in, use ignite if you have it and try to ult him.

ryze has no escapes, i m kinda a ryze main. ask for ganks he is very bulnerable. lows lvl push your lane a lot, even if he pokes u it doenst matters since he will run out of mana very fast and miss tons of creeps. try to outpush him so he wastes his mana in the wave. but if u ask for ganks b carefull to ward and track their jg since if u dont ward well and his JG is good he can lock u down and gg :P

Three champs you dont want to mess with early on. Trynda, Renek and Dar. Please respect those three as your game can be over w/n 3mins. (Trynda) has a secret second ability at level one! Spin and passive crit. (Renek) can fight you under minion wave due to his AOE life steal, which btw all the lessons learned in this video go out the window. Lastly, (Dar) has a secret second ability at level one as well. We all know it and yet from bot lane you can hear "First Blood Dar"! I'm sure their are more, but these three are the biggest trouble i have noticed for many players, myself included. Now with this new meta of junglers ignoring you top side until you are 0/7/0 13CS at 15 mins while team flames... you get why it is important to just let some CS go and try to think "Late Game".

Riven lvl 1, Fiora lvl 1 and akali lvl 1 can beat all of those cause they're op af. Olaf also beats those champs at lvl 1, but he's not that common on toplane and he cant beat fiora or riven lvl 1 Mundo beats lvl 1 irelia. Aatrox sholdnt be able to beat any of them lvl 1 because he procs conqueror too slow. Jax should only be able to win lvl 1 against nasus and camille. It isn't actually pretty complex...you get counterpicked and your impact on the game just gets completely lost unless you tryhard and outplay. Toplane is almost irrelevant if you loose botlane though, being able to 2 v 1 the enemy jungler and toplaner or having enemy jungler camping you top and still loosing botlane cause your jungler wont gank bot, or ganking bot and dying to enemy botlane even having pressure on top really turns you off from trying to carry from top... Tanks are op though. They just sit and do nothing but get the exp from the wave you freeze, you cant be able to kill them if they play really safe cause...you know..they're tanky af so you cant all in them and their health just heals back up from dorans shield and runes. And if you decide to perma push them they'll just farm under tower, become unkillable and do tank stuff in teamfights like not dying and apllying tons of cc and percentual health damge to all of your team. Toplane is a shit role to carry when you get to diamond. Unless your team knows you and listens to you, wich prbbly wont happen.

Ok so I watch this video to 1.) Learn more about top cause I wanna be able to play top from time to time 2.) When your lane minions start pushing to their tower, instead of clearing them instantly. You let them build up a wave. Then shove. If you have 6 minions and they have 5, near your tower. It will push pretty quickly towards their tower. So you want to just last hit until another wave comes. So that’s your minions pile up.

Freezing is such a boring strategy. When my laner freezes I just go to make a coffee myself, going to take a shower, do other stuff, graduating and finally the minions are coming to me, I cs 10 of them and repeat the same stuff. So my enemy wasting 30 mins in freezing the wave with his junglers help just to make me lose 40cs and I realise his botlane losing, he is going to help them, I get his tower and more cs and still got quadra. dont judge my english pls
