Right now it's not clear if gameloft flags accounts, or other people flag them, but a lot of people who got flagged never even visited a treasure valley, and also it started happening last week, so I'll keep you updated if we get more information on this. Also so far noone was banned for it, just got a warning, hopefully raising this issue and gathering community feedback on it, will help Gameloft reconsider their policy.

I don't do multi player, but I don't see why Gameloft has a problem. I think you nailed it when you said it is not a competitive game with the exception of dreamsnaps. And it would not take long to do a little grinding for just about anything you need in a dreamsnap so why does Gameloft care. People enjoy the game in different ways. Just let them. I personally love grinding. It relaxes me. If someone prefers decorating and they have a way to get a few more resources, why not? We are not competing with this aspect in our game. I also want to comment that the builds by Cress and the others you showcased are amazing. I love seeing great builds even though I am not the best at them so I appreciate you showing them! :))

I remember in Animal Crossing New Horizons I was ready to stop playing the game I loved because I was totally sick of the extensive hours of grinding to get items. Treasure Islands were wonderful and restored my willingness to play the game. If it keeps players aboard and keep buying DLCs and moonstones, I do not see the problem that Game Loft appears to have.

Ikr if people are buying there game spending money or not using moonstones from there creations. Its not like people are trying to mod in there game there just swapping or gifting furniture pieces unsellable you have to many of in the game as of right now that shouldn't be illegal. There just treating players in such a bad way they will end up pushing away alot of there gamers like animal crossing did over star trees which was nintendos own glitch not by modding. Also people would love giving furniture to others in acnh when they could swap for something they want this was never illegal but nintendo hated treasure islands because people wouldn't be playing there game how they wanted them too. Its crazy you brought the game should not be illegal at all same with gameloft. I agree that modding on games is so wrong when it takes these developer's years to make some of these games. unless like stardew valley it's accepted by the creator then modding is illegal. But this stuff from gameloft like nintendo is just petty and ridiculous. Don't invent multiplayer in ddlv if you don't want people gifting furniture fgs gameloft it's just a game 🤦‍♀️

Regarding this banning thing, I certainly hope that instead of putting it on the players, Gameloft instead works out their issues with multiplayer. This seems a)completely out of the blue and b)an extreme reaction to a “problem” that, like you said, can easily be fixed on their end. I certainly hope that no one actually gets banned for visiting a treasure valley because they’re going to lose an awful lot of players if they force everyone who hates grinding to do so. If Gameloft don't want Treasure Valleys then maybe they shouldn't make such a grindy game? Drop rates for some things are ridiculously low, while recipes can call for an insane amount of items. It's almost like they've tried to design this game like a pay to win game only without the pay to win mechanics.

I agree. There is grindy and there is ridiculous. Chests for example shouldn’t use dreamlight. And you should be able to recolor them. It takes over an hour of duties to get enough for 1 large chest. Storage is a basic necessity in any game. They should be cheap and recolorable.

Spot on. I did a test on the drop rate of Onyx, and it’s abysmal… consistently under 10%. Yet the star paths not only have intense mining tasks (esp when you have to find shiny ones) but also tasks where you have to craft potions. Just to do the task where you need to make 2 potions, you have to mine every rock in the main valley (including the Vitalys mines) at least 2 times just to get the 10 onyx for the ONE task, and sometimes it’s more. Never mind all the other mining that you need potions for. And mining buddies do not bonus the onyx, which is also ridiculous. It’s so much time wasted just to get the onyx. I don’t mind grinding, but the potion ingredients drop rates are unreasonable.

When a dlc drops I'm impatient on the grind so i go to a treasure valley. If they start banning, I'll stop playing. Why do they care so much if it's not the hacked blue chests?

There's a Facebook page where the admins offer people the hacked blue chests with premium items in there, and they were lying to the page members telling them that they weren't hacked chests. Gameloft themselves said don't accept any hacked chests, but the page admins were telling members hey come get this blue chest full of premium items. I got kicked from the page for calling them out about it 😂 People like that are more dangerous to the game than the people who duplicate flowers and gems to give away

I don't think they're targeting one-on-one visits. And the treasure events only allow i think 3 people at a time to visit. The warning reads vaguely, leads me to think it's not Gameloft monitoring, it's a disgruntled player who tried to visit a treasure event and couldn't get in, so they filed a complaint. I help my 9 year old granddaughter frequently because she doesn't grind mining, etc. She mostly plays fashion doll and farms. So I bring her things to help with her quests, fish or whatever.

@@SteenWDWThis is often the case. There were known trolls who got people banned out of jealousy in ACNH in the early days. These are like the trolls that say certain things in games “need to be nerfed b/c they’re too OP.” Like, dude, don’t use the buff then. 😅

@@SteenWDW This is not over one disgruntled player that couldn't get into a treasure valley! I was simply delivering resources to another player & that player got a flagged warning!! The items I delivered were not modded. I just have an insane amount of resources!

Honestly, if they got rid of Treasure Valleys that make the game a bit less “grindy” for me, I’d probably stop playing. I don’t have the time to spend hours grinding for materials more than I already do. As for the potential threat of not being able to participate in dreamsnaps… I play on Apple Arcade, so no moonstones or premium shop. Not being able to participate is effectively an empty threat. Right now I barely do the minimum requirement.

Also, re: the bans (or threats of it) I think that's absolutely terrible. This is a single player game, you pay $40 for the game + $30 each expansion, and the game already has ridiculous limitation added to it, like being unable to time shift and setting up the game to glitch out and break if a player tries to time shift their console/PC, FOMO events, and no cheats for things like controlling the weather or controlling spawn rates. I did not spend $50 to get a F2P experience. The idea that I'm not allowed to mod or hack my own game - a single player game that I paid premium price for - to do whatever I want with it is absurd. Add on to it the idea that they're targeting exploits? It's unacceptable. Their only excuse is that people can get an unfair advantage in Dreamsnaps (to get about $15-20 in premium currency that is very questionable to exist in the first place), but this can be solved by just having stricter moderation in Dreamsnap entries. Obvious mods, exploits, or inappropriate content submitted should be removed and the account punished. Any other time should not matter. It's a cozy game. I should be able to play it how I want. Granted, saying that, you can do at least some of this anyway if you don't mind losing access to Dreamsnaps, but I think it's absurd that if I - for instance - decided I just like the rain aesthetic and add some mod or something that makes it always rain, I can never submit dreamsnaps, when the two things are unrelated.

I've had the duplication thing happen accidentally. While helping my 9 year old granddaughter pick 300 pumpkins, I'll drop bundles for her to pick up. A few times I've dropped them, she's picked them up and they're still in my pocket. I stay in her valley for about 30 minutes so I'm not dropping and running. It's their glitch, nothing we're doing. I think it's happened with gems too. Another glitch, after she visited me, I found glimmer (is that the right name?) on the ground. I can't pick it up but I can vacuum them. Once I found 8 glimmer by vacuuming each biome.

This is so stupid! I have only done valley visits with one other person, and we have given each other stuff, and traded things. She didn't enjoy time bending, so she needed mist, and i just went around my valley and time bended and left all of the mist for her to pick up. Unless someone is hacking the moonstones somehow, or the premium shop, or those hacked chests that would break the game, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Its a game!! If I have extra stuff and I want to give it away it shouldn't matter.

What’s the difference between dream light and animal crossing? I see no reason why it’s wrong especially now we have so much to do and people get behind. I just want to play and decorate. I really don’t want to grind that’s the part that makes me want to turn off the game.

I’m concerned about this as I visit treasure valleys pretty much every week, I don’t have time to grind items and the valleys are so helpful and I am able to enjoy the game.. If they start banning people for going to these valleys then I’ll stop playing the game and I’m sure a lot of other people will too 😕

I have been saying from the beginning some items are wayyy to expensive. There is a difference between something being grindy and something being ridiculous. It shouldn’t take over an hour to get the dream light for example for chests. Storage is a basic necessity in any game. Especially if you just want to change the color of a chest. So unless they change recipes and things people will keep using treasure valleys.

8:37 i absolutely wait til the last minute before i do my dreamsnaps. Reset time is 1am for me, so I sit down about 2-3 hours ahead of that and hope for the best. Once I submitted with 13 seconds to go before reset and I almost cried 😂

I just read through the Terms of Use and number 15 under Online Conduct would explain the flag. "sublicensing, renting, leasing, selling, trading, gifting, bequeathing or otherwise transferring your account or any Virtual Items associated with your account to anyone" I'm guessing the trading or gifting of your virtual items to others could be part of this

I just want to throw my two cents into the ring: First of all, I would like to give you a huge THANK YOU for addressing this topic!!! I do not mod or hack my game! I have 2 valleys (and yes, I know that is technically against their Terms of Use!) I have a lot of time on my hands & don't sleep much! I was simply delivering resources from my main valley to my secondary valley. Just a couple back packs worth of items to help me get started on a few things. The secondary valley (receiver of the items) got flagged! The main valley (gifter of the items) also got flagged! (Not at the same time, but within a couple days of each other.) I have over 4k hours in my main valley. I have spent a lot of time & money on this game! While I'd like to think I wouldn't have spent that much real life money on the 2nd account, I probably would have! Did I do the star path for both accounts? Absolutely! Has my main account visited treasure valleys? Absolutely! I found one late summer of last year & was relieved that I could finally quit grinding so much!!! Yes I've done the grind! I think I had about 200 large storage chests crafted before I ever visited a treasure valley! I've done my time! Having access to treasure valleys gave me a whole new FREEDOM in this game! I can now craft whatever I want whenever I want without having to stop & grind for more resources! My train of thought gets derailed often & I forget things easily! If I have to stop every time I'm crafting things to go grind, I forget what I was crafting for in the first place! I was able to finally start decorating my valley! Since receiving these flags threatening to ban me from being able to play multi-player & submit dream snaps, I have pretty much quit playing! I'm scared to death to play this game at this point! I don't even know what I would do if they banned me! I am a (fairly new) widower that lives alone! I don't leave my house. I suffer from ptsd, anxiety & severe depression! This game has helped me!!! I've had times where I've gotten a wild hair one morning & sat up all night long playing (which I know is also against their rules) because that idea gave me a purpose for a few hours! It would break my heart to not be able to play this game anymore! Since receiving the flags, I've been looking hard for a new game! I open my accounts on Tuesday & throw a dream snap together real quick & then close them down. I open them on Wednesday to see my results & close them down. They've certainly lost the source of income that I was giving them! I sat here one night & added it up ... I've spent close to $2,000 real life dollars on this game! Will I continue that in the future? Absolutely not! There is no way I will give them another dime with this threat hanging over my head that they will take it away from me at any second! What I am doing is not hurting anyone! It's not taking money out of their pockets! So why do they care so much? I did try to contact Gameloft to ask them exactly what it was that I did wrong. They were quite vague in their answer! They told me to read the "terms of use" and figure it out for myself. Without knowing EXACTLY what I did wrong, I can only stop playing to avoid doing it again & getting banned! This whole thing just makes me incredibly sad for the entire DDV community!!

Gamerant did an article on my Forever After Shrek build and they made it about "the lack of Shrek games made over the years." So if ive grinded for the last 2 yrs and now my daughter has started her own valley we can be banned of I visit her valley and drop off resources...doesnt seem fair ive paid full price for the game on ps and switch as well as both dlcs for ps and wouldnt know where to start modding. Treasure Valleys were also huge in animal crossing and I have no doubt those were duplicate items there either. The game, for the most part, is single player so I personally don’t see an issue with freaking wood or flowers being duplicated. There’s been duplication glitches in the game for ages now, (a lot of DDLV KZbinrs made videos on that.) I’ve even seen a report where a quest item for Ursula got duplicated.

I think the problem with the Treasure Valleys is that some people are giving players hacked chests which contain Premium Shop items

I really believe the target for these bans are ppl using cheat engine to make any items. That includes every premium shop or star path item ever released. Even future items. It's not even hard to learn how so my guess is that it's become a large issue for the company now. The treasure valleys don't include these type of items but banning those players would mean not being able to hack for free items that hurts the company's finance. Which is all it comes down to. Sending those mails to ppl who have done nothing wrong or just visited a treasure valley is very aggressive though imo. I wish GL didn't treat DDV like a f2p game.

I don't have any opinions on duping but technically it's not a hacking so it's not a big problem. I think they should fix it, of course AND add more items/resources to shops like Kristoff's so we can buy them instead of waiting and also not just ban people. I don't know. It still happens. I start in the first row and just a couple items later it turns my character from collecting vertically to horizontal.I have even tried to hold her straight and she turns after two crops have been harvested.

If you use Touch of Magic items, you won’t be able to submit the photo in Dreamsnap. I tried to submit a Dreamsnap photo during the Market scene competition but I kept getting a message saying that it was rejected due to Touch of Magic items (I have no clue as to what Touch of Magic items there are in my inventory.) Because of this, I only take part in the fashion Dreamsnap events.

You cant be wearing touch of items clothes or use touch of magic furniture . they have a dreamsnap inventory you can use for items during dreamsnaps

If the Daisy store is in another biome the direction you're taking your picture, you'll get the "rejected due to Touch of Magic" message.

I hope that this issue will be addressed and taken care of. I have not gotten the message. I can understand if you were legitimately hacking that you would lose multiplayer access and dreamsnaps, however for something like treasure valley seems harsh and unnecessary in my opinion. It also seems odd that they put an emphasis on valley visits and dreamsnaps... So if you get banned, the premium shop is still available? But you've now taken away the only real source to get moonstones (I know there are blue chests with 50 moonstones) Now if someone is legit hacking yeah, that's fair, but threatening to remove someone's ability to partake in dreamsnaps and valley visits just because of a treasure visit. I've also seen other comments that users who have multiple games and would transfer stuff from one game to the other have gotten flagged. I say this with all due respect, but it seems like an official statement regarding this is absolutely needed, especially if treasure visits are forbidden, then please state that. I have been playing Dreamlight since early access and while there's been things that I don't like compared to other things, this is something that puts a bad taste in Dreamlight valley (With all due respect!) I'm holding all judgement until an official statement has been released. Regardless, this is important to know about, and I appreciate that you're bringing light to this.

I don't seem the harm in duping items at all. This isn't a competitive game. There's no winning. No endgame. If you want to grind, you can. People have fun in this game differently. Some people love the grind, and some people love simply to decorate. How people get their items has literally no impact on the game at all, or any other players. What WILL impact the game is banning people for this, because it will deter people from using valley visits/ treasure valleys and discourage a lot of people from playing the game at all. This just feels like such a none issue. Hacking for moonstones or premium items I can understand being harmful, but not this.

Luckily I don't use multiplayer that much but grinding for resources does tire me out after a while. I find myself requesting certain things for trade and though I don't really get any responses, I'll have to clarify from now on no treasure islands or duped items.

I do try to make the recipes on my own, I'll give it maybe 5-10 tries based on ingredients. If i still can't get it after that i will google the recipe. Sometimes the ingredients are not obvious and sometimes the picture of the recipe has ingredients that are not actually in the recipe.

The item duplicating doesn't hurt anyone but...there are many twitch accounts dedicated to just running treasure valleys and in order to access a more "premium" valley the creator requires you to sub on twitch. I've also seen creators that if you sub on twitch will give you x amount of mist or story magic a month. Essentially players are making real world money off of duplicating items

I don’t understand what the mods are since I’ve only been playing since summer, and I haven’t visited anyone. I know we had mods in Sims4, and they were allowed, but I mostly just used custom decor for building and not scripts. I’m merely curious what it is and how they are doing it but have double negative zero plans to do the same.

that's exactly why I visit treasure valleys and dupe items myself; I hate the grind. I do it initially for like quests and stuff, but when I just need tons and tons of material for crafting decor I take the easy route. I really don't see anything wrong with that either.

Here's my question: is this just for treasure valleys or does the Scrooge reset also count? I haven't gotten flagged, but I have done Scrooge resets, for myself and also for multiplayer, especially on hard to find items, but I also don't want to get banned from the game.

I have seen one youtuber, who every time there is some kind of event(like the cupcake or marshmallow one), they have tons of every rewarded unlocked on the first day. I can't be a fan of duping when I see that.

I have a feeling Gameloft is using an AI moderation system. I've heard about bans happening for no reason on other games like Roblox too and Roblox uses an automatic banning system. They should also just give a warning on your first offense, not full on flagging you for 30 days when there is no solid proof you did anything wrong. I saw that post titled "please farm for your own stuff" and made my own post about it asking if people have gotten flagged for using treasure valleys because I'm worried since I use them myself. A LOT of people in the replies had VERY different opinions so I still haven't gotten a clear answer. But I'll just slow down on using them and only take a reasonable amount of items now until Gameloft addresses treasure valleys. But this is happening to people who don't even use treasure valleys so that makes me even more scared. You are now at risk of getting banned JUST for using a feature that THEY added to the game. Game devs really need to stop using AI or automatic banning systems because they are still not perfected and can make mistakes. It's also EXTREMELY lazy and gives the impression that you don't care about your loyal customers who pay you TONS of money getting flagged or BANNED for no good reason. Gameloft needs to get on top of this problem NOW!

I don't think the duping you describe is what's triggering Gameloft. If that was the case, why not also flag those who reset Scrooge daily? I've seen some videos of people visiting Treasure Valleys and when they walk into an area or a room in a house it automatically fills with materials. To me, that user has modified the game in some way in order to replicate automatically. Further, there are some users who have been banned and are on the rampage and have made comments about figuring out who turned them in and "ruining their game". That also indicates modifying and hacking somehow. Lastly, I saw a comment from someone who said they went into a treasure valley house and before they even picked an item up their backpack was completely filled with random items. How was the user/game able to put items into another user's backpack? All that said, Gameloft has given us the ability to share with other players and I can see a great benefit to being able to get resources in order to decorate the way they want right then instead of grinding or forgetting what they were wanting to do.

Filling the backpack with random items can/has happen(ed) if you don’t have an empty backpack when traveling to another valley. So I don’t think that’s a hack/mod… but might agree on the other scenarios

Theres some ppl (streamers) who even has "spin the wheel" to win LOADS of mist for example, which u absolutely cant give to anyone normally (unless u leave ur own orbs in the valley for someone else to pick up, but they dont give u millions of mist). And ofc they make real money by modding/hacking the game and having ppl competing in the roulette/lottery etc. I dont mind the "normal exploit" to help out with some resources like wood or iron. Im kinda new to the game and ive only visited two treasure islands only for normal resources (none included any mist or stuff like that). I never experienced the blue chest exploit or anything like that but im glad theyve patched that. They should just patch the duping exploit on everything thats not in the base game (or make it to autosave whenever u drop an item), and fix so ppl cant "give away" millions of mist.

Maybe a good solution would be to have a difficulty setting for either drop rates or materials required to craft items or both. That way people who dont have time or hate grinding for materials can still enjoy the game without needing treasure valleys / hacks. Or gameloft can just let us play the game we paid for the way we want lol. And I paid for both DLC's on two platforms, PC for decorating and switch for gameplay. They will lose a lot of $$ if they keep up with this communistic approach to controlling players. Games are supposed to be a place where you can do whatever you want, without harming others, thats what makes it fun in the first place. Rules kill fun.

That Reddit user has either deleted their account or tried to delete that message. I personally think they are someone who was doing something against the rules (modifying the game or selling for real dollars resources) and they're mad and wanting to burn the system down with them. I'm not putting too much stock in it for now.

Yeah, animal crossing had treasure valley’s and Nookazon, and the game had a thriving community. I went to Reddit and read the comments, and it seems this would only happen if someone was reported. Someone said it was easy to accidentally report people on console.

wow ,another thing ddv raining on peoples parade ugh. i think its great people can help others get resources easy,i know there's alot of people who enjoy that they can help,but lately ddv hasnt fixed there game nore caring about how we feel or improving there game ,this just adds to that for me how much making the game less fun to enjoy. i barely play anymore cause of all the things ddv has done lately that hasnt helped the game,but ruin it for many. im tired of dealing with alot of the changes to the game that have made steessful ,the bugs i keep running into,not be able to get ddv to do anything about it even on there discord, and them basically not caring to do anything about it period. for them to do this on top of all thats happening,im not surprised ,but i like i said it only ruins fun for many who enjoy doing the game this way,some build there game around helping others cause its what they enjoy,to get punished for taking time to do this i think its truely sad. ddv been giving alot people reasons to quit,the more people cant enjoy the game.

The problem stems from the treasure valleys using literal cheat engines/wemod to create thousands of resources for their valleys and many of them use twitch and it is obvious that is being done using more then a dupe glitch that exists in the game. These same people also offer things like custom scrooge shop which is obvious hacking. My guess is its an automated system catching innocent with guilty.

People, stop complaining about grinding, either you have the time to do it or you dont, it is not a Gameloft problem! So many people want every thing right now, make it easy and preferably free, this is the prevailing attitude when you actually have to put some effort into the game, but you dont want to. And then there are the gobblers. They gobble everything up right away and then complain that there is nothing new to do, this too is not a Gameloft problem.
