Me too. It makes me sad to think that 98% of online players won't feel this difference in character changes because they haven't even thought about playing the story mode at least once. They only played the prologue and never played it again. I myself jumped with excitement when I saw Franklin after 8 years, he is my favorite character in story mode

One thing I still don't understand online... I'm a new player, but I've been following the game since its launch, and I never understood why our character has contact with some characters,Even without knowing them, like Dom for example, my character doesn't know him, and he has the contact, and if I call him, there's nothing, just a message box... It is never really explained how we know most of the characters, and it's not even explained how we meet Lamar, but Lamar says he was friends on LifeInvader (the parody of Facebook) with our Online character and that he'd set us up with important people to help start earning money in Los Santos, people like Simeon, Gerald, Hao, and others. So the idea is we have met some of these people online before (like Lamar and maybe even Dom since he calls us a lot) and some of them were introduced to us through Lamar after we arrived in the city. Since our Online character is a character of our own making, we choose to fill in the empty parts that the story does not tell us. We decide what sort of origin story they have and how they met some important characters in the city before we started working with them.
