Gamematics I agree. There was more content, better character development(I felt that characters died too fast in season 2),more direction(season 2 as a whole lacked direction for me)

Yea Season 2 did a better job with Villains for sure and the sense of security felt more fragile. Season 1 had the best good characters. Very hard to top Kenny (when he was semi normal), Lee, Glenn and Clem.
