I forgot to mention that Reiko is not an original character to Oneechanbara. I discovered that she actually came from another simple series game called Fighting Angels. If you played the catfight minigame in Yakuza 0, thats essentially the game but you have more direct control of the characters. It also explains the whole slapping attack she does which is out of place but it makes sense seeing that in her game thats one of her attacks.

I loved that Among Us meme used to describe the mid-game plot. As for the synopsis that says the cursed blood disrupts the status quo for life and death, I suppose it refers to how the blood can be used to achieve super human and even immortal status even though that is revealed later on. The alternative is that the blood (or at least Saki's blood) was a tool that brought out zombism and reanimation disrupts the status quo.

ah i see, i see. Now it all makes sense. I just wished it was a bit more on the nose with its storytelling but then again early 2000's translation work was pretty hit or miss.

Turns out i messed up and actually had the japanese version all along, i just didnt think it was the full iso at the time. Ill play it and if i find more things to talk about i might make a separate video about it. Both game isos will be in the desc if you wanna play it yourself.

Are there any other games that play like this game? This video got me to try it and it feels really good to land hits. Very nice animations and the cool combo system. It does get very tedious sometimes since the zombies are so tanky but the combat is very fun regardless.

to my knowledge, no. this is the only game series that has a combat system like this.

The new characters and new moves are a big improvement. The characters themselves are also more fleshed out. The stages themselves are much more lively and the addition of blood gates is a nice touch. That said, I want to like this game, but the last two stages are really boring. It may just be me, but I liked Oneechanploo/Zombie Hunters better. It feels a lot less of a slog. By the way, f*** berzerk Reiko! She is the most BS boss I ever fought in any game! The ending satisfied me after I had to redo the sixth stage just to beat her.

Reiko is def hella cheap. You can tell they have alot going on but because of budget reason the games never reach that peak. Still they did a good job overall
