The sound you're tempting to describe is really a yodel technique which is common in Eastern music. The thing that makes it so captivating is his absolute control of the runs and trills.

If you like songs with mixing cultures then I’ll highliy recommend you Drunken Concubine, a traditional performance from the Peking Opera and The Diva Dance. Do you know the movie The 5th Element with Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman? There is a song, The Diva Dance, that Eric Serra wrote for an extraterrestrial opera singer that was not singable by a human voice. Parts of it were computer generated. Guess who is singing it. There a some female singer who performed this song, but in my opinion not as precise as Dimash. And he is a male! In this performance from the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala in China in 2020 , Dimash sings with Li Yugang, a great Chinese Opera singer who usually plays a female in classic Peking opera. He sings this traditional nasal singing he is very famous in China. The two harmonize so well together. What a great mixture! It’s really fantastic. I love it and I’m sure you will like it, too🥰. Just unbelievabel🤯. You can react this two songs together because the Bastau version is really short (1.42 minutes). Some other reactors do. Multumesc pentru alegerea acestei piese, felicitari pentru reactie! Acest cover facut de Dimash prin reorchestrarea facuta si prin adaugarea solo-ului de fluier dar si a parti cu acele melisme de inspiratie orientala(caracteristice lui Dimash) fac din aceasta performanta una de exceptie. Adaugirile mentionate aduc un plus de sensibilitate si de traire intensa. Melodia primeste astfel un plus de dramatism care pune in valoare textul original. Toate acestea, alaturi de interpretarea de maestru a lui Dimash, fac din aceasta piesa una de exceptie. Pentru mine, aceast cover este mai bun decat piesa originala.(fara suparare, parerea mea). Succes mai departe si salutari din Romania🇹🇩! Astept cu nerabdare urmatoarea piesa si reactie.👏👏👏👏👍❤🇹🇩!!

I love how Dimash was sble to change this Western song to bring more appeal to his Eastern audience. The use of cool lighting and pipes adds a "lonely" feel to the mood. He adds the yearning with his vocals and adds a bit of reverb to suggest the emptiness of his mind, alone in his thoughts vibe. I also love how he changed the "I love you" into Mandarin first then Kazak to connect with an audience that may not be able to follow english lyrics well.🌹❤️‍🔥🌹 I agree that Dimash embodies a beautiful balance of vulnerability/softness and intense male power.
