If you now think you know what to expect from Gacharic Spin in the future, I say only one thing. Forget it! 🤭 They do what they want, don't let themselves be pigeonholed, and thereby they have the fun of their lives. Hard to believe? Then 'I Wish I' (MV) should be your next stop with these ladies. :) Although I've heard the name over and over again for years, I only really fell for them about half a year ago. And I hate myself for having 'ignored' them for so long. The history of this band is wild to say the least and goes back to 2009. I'll try to break it down briefly. The formation goes back to bassist 'F Choppa Koga' (yes, that's her stage name!) who started the band with her high school friend named Hana, who you can see and hear in this video on the drums. They were joined by vocalist Armmy and a few month later guitarist Tomo-Zo. After the singer left the band in 2012 for health reasons (and died 3 years later for unnamed reasons), they brought in keyboardist 'Oreo Reona' (or just called Oreo), who together with Hana formed the new vocal duo. Since both are rather active with their instruments in the back of the stage, 2 'Hype Girls' followed to interact with the audience. This construct lasted until 2017/2018 when the two Hype Girls went other ways. As a result, Hana handed over her position on the drums to a new drummer named Yuri and decided to play guitar at the front. Yes, she also plays the guitar very well besides the drums, as well as many other instruments. She is a true multi-instrumentalist. You don't see Yuri here in this video, as she was on maternity leave at the time. At about the same time Yuri joined the band, Koga spotted a young lady at a school festival who goes by the name of Angelina. More precisely, Angelina (or Angie) 1/3, because she is equal parts Spanish, Filipino and Japanese. I like to refer to her as the pink-haired Energizer Bunny, although these are actually nothing against her. :) And so we have the current incarnation of this band that refers to itself as an entertainment band and apparently doesn't let anything or anyone keep 'em down. F Choppa Koga (ba) «» Hana (gt, dr, vo) «» Oreo (kb, vo) «» Tomo-Zo (gt) «» Yuri (dr) «» Angelina (vo) Well, as I said. An adventurous/wild band history, in a very shortened version, which I will leave it at for today. Looking forward to your next experience with these amazing ladies. :) _____________________ _"You think I'm laughing because I'm happy? As far as new music goes, they have released 2 tracks in the last 2 months or so and will release a new album in the beginning of next month. Gacharic Spin have been around since 2009 and while they have had multiple different lineup changes over the years the main musicians have mainly stayed the same with the exception that the drummer (in this video) switched to guitar and they hired a new drummer in 2019 (and switched back for this album and MV because the current drummer was on maternity leave). This track is with their newest lineup. The pink-haired singer Angelina 1/3 (Angie for short) has gotten even better on the new tracks, you can see her grow her skill every time I see new footage. She was 17 in 2019 when she was recruited and is now 21, she was actually a fan of the band from when she was a kid. They basically found a diamond in the rough. The main musicians (with the exception of the current drummer which you haven't seen) are all in their mid-30's now, but they are still bringing a huge amount of energy whenever they perform. Musicwise they are all over the place as far as genres go (and they tend to mix multiple genres in one track) although they generally have an emphasis on bass, so no worries there. All their lineups are worth checking out though, especially live, but I think it would be a good idea to get used to their current lineup for now and do one of the newer tracks as the next one. It's also a good idea to check them out live after that because the energy they pack in their live sets basically bursts from the screen.

Somehow I didn't realize you hadn't reacted to them before. They are killing it right now. "I Wish I" is fire. You just missed a reactor contest for "Kachi-kachi Yama" and they just released "Replica". All fantastic songs.

Wait until you see a live show, energy is off the charts, I’ll suggest Tamashii or I Wish I live.

ofc you love Dirty Loops if you like bass :) And your comparisons for this song are spot on. But you're gonna be playing the comparison lottery again with the next song you'll listen to, cause besides them being great musicians, their songs are as diverse as you can imagine. For lyrics, their latest two singles (Kachi Kachi Yama and Replica) have subs, but most older songs don't. So you'll have to use the web to check on their lyrics, but it's worth it. Hope you'll check out more of them Cheers

A band with a very complicated and sometimes sad history, see also Dollsbox, same band, different singer, different style. Gacharic spin don't have a genre, they just play whatever they feel. Have fun with this rabbit hole...

GS really don't get the kudos they deserve . People tend to think of them as just a high energy band , but their musicianship is right up there with the best of them . They're something else live and I'd recommend checking out the 2016 version of " HUNTING SUMMER " if you like seeing something different combined with great music and crazy energy ( it MUST be the 2016 version - it's on KZbin ) All their live performances are great though !
