Hi Gamer Ability, thanks for the tutorials. I have a question about the flicks. I use keyboard and mouse on PC, how many flicks are there in 1 yard? If I know the number then I can use that to convert the number of flicks to yards.

So one flick of the stick for me is slightly less than one yard. Hope this helps!

Another great video. Does the game have significant affects on uphill or downhill lies? I know it does in real life quite a bit and I take it into consideration, but my tempo is not consistent to know of my adjustments are correct. I typically make the adjustment more for clubs I use as a fairly uphill lie may need 1-2 extra clubs and the opposite go downhill lies. I sort of use the approximate angle of the slope and 5-8° difference is a club so thinking 1 club for yellow and 2 clubs for red is what I guess. Until I'm consistent with tempo, I don't know how accurate those estimates are. I don't make subtle changes in distances as I can't hit those precise power levels very regularly. Thank you for the kind words Shane! I have found that uphill and downhill lie angles of green color slope may affect 1 or 2 yards, orange 4 on average, and red has so much variety (I have seen anywhere from 4 yards up to 20 yards added or subtracted). Those values are for normal full shots. If your tempo is not perfect, these affects will change dramatically. Such as hitting from a orange or red uphill slope with a fast tempo basically dampens the uphill slope. Uphill and downhill lie angles have the biggest variability, and it is hard to know exact. @@GamerAbility Greatly appreciate it. I haven't played any video games for about 8 years when there was not many coop games being made for me to play with my son, not that I was very good. My swing plane was terrible to start, my thumb thought straight was banana shaped. From you video on practicing short game playing the par 3 course, I found a few more chipping courses and a couple had dead straight putts. Practicing long straight putts really helped swing plane and practicing pitching and chipping on those courses really helped with the short game. My biggest difficulty is partial shots of any kind and partial chips. Not sure if there is a delay with a wireless controller 15' away from TV but the vibration technique is not helping. I may have to enable power bar for practice. I also need to figure out the rollout for chips so when I start to get the power correct that I choose the right landing spot. I will continue to watch and rewatch your tutorials as they have helped me a lot. Not sure if you have more tutorials in the works, but looking forward to whatever you produce. If people are like me, short game around the green is the toughest part and where you lose the most strokes so the little pitch and putt courses are great for practice. I have yet to find one with just chipping of 15 yds or less so I may try to design one for practice. Moving the ball on the practice green doesn't allow you to practice 7-10 yard chips. Thx again for all the hard work on your tutorials, I doubt it will take long for more people to find them to help their game

@@GamerAbility practice is the plan haven't played a course in a few days, spend my hour or two just practicing and itales a bug difference. This game is much more difficult than Tiger Woods 2005, the last golf game I played 🤣

Many thanks Gamer, i have found something out about the lie angle, when you move your right stick (to aim) whilst looking at the flag, the flag icon moves up and down and i am still trying to work it out but it looks like when the flag icon reaches its lowest the aim is right. could you take a look and see what you think

I just tested this, at first I thought it worked every time. But it actually does not correlate to lie angle after further testing. I noticed this because it does the same thing when hitting off the tee. There were some cases that it did work, but many cases in which it did not work. I’m not actually sure why the flag moves up and down, seems to do it with all shot types as well

I have noticed that the flag icon seems to move to its lowest point between 20 -25 flicks of the aim stick in both directions changing depending on the club and shot type. But it does not seem to correlate to ball lie angle. I am interested on what the movement of the flag is showing. Let me know if you discover anything

How do you get the inches above or below the cup when on the green...? I can't seem to find the setting. It gives me yards only or feet...but no inches up or down next to yards or feet? Anyone help please!!

So a few settings you can check. Make sure in difficulty settings Aim marker is turned on. Also if you have pro vision elevation turned on, the elevation information will never show up. Pro vision is on with the lower difficulty settings. The last option you will want to check is in Settings - Display & HUD - Distance info position - make sure it is to on marker. Hope this helps!

Im holding left bumper, have lie grids turned on but I still cant get the grid to appear. Can anyone help?

I have never actually had this happen. The only time the grid lines never appear is when in the sand, but on all grass surfaces it should be appearing with lie grid turned on. The only thing I can think of to try is to turn it off then on again and then exit out of the game and restart the console (maybe even power cycle the system). Keep me posted on what works.

@@GamerAbility I figured it out . If you have lie assistant on it wont show you the grid lol . So you turn on grid, and turn off lie assist.

Do uphill/downhill lies impact ball flight at all?

Yes! As a general rule, uphill lies will take off a few yards from the shot and usually have less forward spin. Downhill lies add a few yards and have more forward roll. Now there are extreme examples where 5-10 yards or more are added or taken away, but these are very rare. On downhill lies, I recommend adding some increased loft and changing the attack angle to generate a little more backspin. Hope this helps!

@@GamerAbility I cannot find anybody talking about this being included in the game anywhere, can you confirm this is indeed a consideration? The game doesn't mention it, nobody has done a tutorial on it, nobody ever mentions it when talking about lie impact, etc...

@@adamseidel9780 I have tested this, but the affects are very minimal which is why I did not include it in the tutorial. On average (from the data I have collected), downhill lies may add 1-3 yards and uphill lies take off 1-3 yards. I honestly rarely ever account for it, because in most cases it does not make a big difference. Hope this helps!

@@GamerAbility THis is helpful. What about the short game, how big is the impact there? That tends to be where the more extreme uphill lies are found, does this take a few yards or more off splash and pitch shots? Do downhill lies cause chips to roll out more?

@@adamseidel9780 I am glad to help! Yes, very similar effects for short game as well. I have noticed the chips seem to be more affected than pitch and splash shots for in regards for spin/rolling more or less. Lies do take a few yards off or adds a few more yards for pitching, minimal distance affect with splash shots, and minimal distance affect with chips (more roll though).

Hold down the LB button (shot shaping button) on the Xbox controller or L1 on PlayStation controller. Also make sure lie grids are turned on in the difficulty settings

@@GamerAbility Joined, Antmania1. My handicap shows as +1.5 but that is way off accurate. I have a friend on PS who is doing TGC Tours...he's gone a bit masochistic with it and is playing true sim too...he's shooting massively over, but he's loving it. I'm joining the beer league to ease myself in. I set up a 3 round Carinthia tour on my society and accidentally set it as Pro Am (I always play Pro). It had a massive impact on my swing and timing which just didn't make sense. I was way too fast and off centre. The putting kept glitching too and was off centre. I completed my rounds and then went to the driving range to test things out and I was 5 out of 7 straight and perfect. The other 2 slightly fast and slightly right of centre. Do you think that this was just psychological, or perhaps a glitch. Sorry for the essay...you just know so much about this game. When do you stream? I live in the UK, but would like to support your streaming when you are on.

@@anthonyknowles6681 Awesome! I don't think my handicap is showing correct values either. TGCTOURs is a lot of fun, but Master swing difficulty is going to be a hard adjustment. No problem at all man, I love the comments and interaction no matter the length! That is interesting. Seems very odd indeed. I have not encountered this issue, but it could have been a glitch. Keep me updated on if you experience this again. My stream schedule has not been consistent recently, but I hope to get a more consistent schedule going forward. I usually stream in the evenings around 6 PM EST, 2-3 nights a week on twitch. Best way to stay up-to-date on my stream schedule is to follow my twitter and follow me on twitch and turn on notifications. Thank you for the support!
