As big as Isaac is it always feels to me that it's still very much unnoticed or disregarded by most, despite the influences we see in modern games. Vampire Survivors certainly spawned an entire generation or copies and inspirations, but that game itself came from the wider genre that Isaac inspired, even though it's still under the rogue umbrella itself. Isaac is Heavy Metal to the traditional rogue-like Rock & Roll, and Vampire Survivors is the Power Metal that inspired it's own tree of subgenres. It's all good, but these days there isn't enough love for some of the good old classics!

@@w1-em4nq in case you didn't check it out (or just, anyone seeing this later) it kinda is, kinda isn't. Flipside, great excuse to keep going till it's done, the dlcs are good, and the latest dlc (or just a patch) has this 'story mode' ish separate thing, that's like a repeatable, resetable subsection of characters, items, and unlocks to give back that early vibe.

The fact that the fandom is still incredibly active and even making full blown expansions to the game, on top of it being a repeat top seller on GOG is just a further testament to the games immense staying power. I want to add couple of more and I am surprised you didn't mention these: 1. Hades: every run is randomised, every rooms reward changes every run. So your build changes in every run and it is quite fun. 2. Elden Ring: there are hundreds of different weapons in elden ring and every weapon drastically changes the gameplay. And also there are a lot of different weapon arts to combine. 3. Baldur's Gate 3: You can do ultimate role playing in this game. For example I made Geralt of Rivia, for my second playthrough I am planning to create Galadriel from Lord of the Rings. It gives you the opportunity to become whoever you want. Either yourself or those fantasy fiction characters.

7 Days To Die must be the game I’ve got most bang for the bucks. I got persuaded by a friend when I got home drunk, payed €5 and I ended up playing 400 hours on it. Wasn’t especially impressed at the start but the loads of mods made it awesome! Usually don’t push that many hours into the same game.

It highly depends on your taste in games, most of these games include mainly combat. If you are willing to go for something else, Tetris Effect: Connected also does have a lot of replayability due to the community weekend events and also you can always aim for a higher score, duh. And since there are lots of different game modes, it doesn't get boring in one hour.
@RadicalDreamer900010 ай бұрын
You bring up a good point about combat that I hadn't even realized. As far as games without combat, I would say Satisfactory is one of the most replayable and fun games I've ever played. Same with Subnautica. Both games *have* combat, but it's not the focus of the game and can be entirely ignored if you wish. You could easily play both games without ever fighting/killing any enemies.

I know Lethal Company is really new and not nearly as complex or diverse in the level design as the games mentioned here, but that game is fire! Is ridiculously fun with a couple of friends or even more with just a couple of mods on top. I already sank about 100 hours and I just play during the weekends with the boys. Mod community is just starting but growing steadily. I really hope devs keep supporting the game for a long time because they struck gold with this one.

I may get some pushbacks from this, but The Sims 4. Yes there is a fine limit of material in the base game, but when you add all the Mods, the add-ins, the game packs, etc. You can endlessly replay it

@martiananomaly10 ай бұрын
Nah it doesn't have enough mods. I don't see much replayability in it other than just going around and killing bandits. Replaying once is fine if you'd like to see the different plots but other than that there's not much to replay. Not having different skill trees doesn't help. But, CDPR is releasing a mod editor for witcher 3 this year so hopefully it gets modded a lot just like Skyrim and become a super replayable game.

I started Witcher 3 three times and everytimes dropped it after 2 days or so. Not a hater. But I can't understand the hype. Risen is a much cooler game in comparison in my opinion

I can say that the hitman trilogy is one of the most replayable games that there is... I got totally addicted to it to the point of having 600 hrs of playtime in that game and I just can't stop playing the game in more creative ways and went on to complete every single challenge in every location... along with doing silent assassin suit only runs over and over again in multiple different ways just to see how diverse the gameplay is.... a pure masterpiece in the social stealth genre...

Deep Rock Galactic is absolute perfect. Even if you fail a mission, the players will not rage quit, they just try again, plus they are very friendly, that is probably one of the coolest thing of that game. Also that game can be pretty hard, especially in the long run missions. It was a game that I found randomly, and it is to me, one the best games I ever play for cop-op or multiplayer game.

The funny thing about Monster Hunter World is that I ran the whole game with the charge blade. Easily the most complex weapon in the game, but I didn't know the half of it. Call me an idiot but I literally beat the whole story and reached G rank before realizing what the charges were. It added even more depth and complexity to the weapon, and I was effectively using it at half its potential the entire time. No wonder it was exceptionally hard for me. After that my second favorite weapon is the switch axe. Both are unique weapons that I've never seen in any other game. Compared to the charge blade, the switch axe is faster, and can be more fun depending on your play style. The rest of the weapons aren't bad, but didn't really catch my interest (although I've tried them all at some point), but they just function as expected, like every other game with those weapons. The insect glave is slightly unique just because of the insects, but the weapon itself isn't anything special.

i am very surprised to see Dwarf Fortress is not in this list taken in account how old it is, and how much money it brought to the brothers who made it, basically over night, therefore showing how much people loved the game.
