multiplayer ranked is done in a points system, so if you pick the best character you get less of them, given that i a non pro player can still go online an beat an ultra instinct goku with chiaotzu goes to show that while its defiently an unbalanced fighter its a bit closer than one may think, that being said ranked singles is all just top tier chars.

For anyone struggling to beat Great Ape vegeta: Try to use kamehameha beam struggle. Use solar flare to get distance when you can, ki charge when he’s down or is a good distance. Spam Kamahameha, charge it and then release when vegeta uses his mouth beam.

One of my favorite aspects of the game is how well the old controls mesh in with the new ones. I played through the entire story of BT3 the day before early access came out, I chose the classic control scheme, and there was almost no learning curve into getting into the swing of things. Couple new mechanics but the new mechanics blend seamlessly with the old controls imo.

What i really loved about BT3 was the amount of playable characters. The destruction and the full arcade fighting style. It was simple, and fueled the itch of mindless fun. Game is a 10/10 don't get me wrong, the only actual issues I have are that they only give you 45 seconds max to choose up to 5 characters (gets extra tough with the Point system) so you might just get hoed and have less characters. The other one is that you're not able to choose the order of fights/fighters in custom tournaments so if you wanna have a mix of real players and CPU's you can't have ur friends all fight bots till later rounds unless you get lucky with the computer deciding the matchups. Besides those, the game is damn near perfect can't wait for it to fully drop for everyone who's waiting on it🙏

You can turn off ability items for online. And there's a balancing system for team battles called DP. As well as ranked muliplayer. Single fight standard world tournaments go 1 by 1. So you can spectate everyone's fights. It's a blast, I mean that literally. Buy it. Your future self will thank you.

@@jonpjudge yes remove auto blocking it's an easy thing to do yourself. I also find it gets in the way of abilities. The only accessibility option you should have on is assist recovery. Other options use ki, and if it's set to on, then it can drain automatically, which sucks of your trying to bank more ki.

Honestly I’m a bit disappointed with the game. The way the hits are, it makes it a little harder to tell when you successfully pull of certain actions. In BT3 the unique sounds and animations of z-bursts and vanish counters made it very easy to tell what’s happening in a good way. Also I absolutely hate the new character select menu and main menu. Yes it looks more stylish but it’s hella annoying to use. I feel like I’m pressing hella inputs to access a menu that they could have just put in one list. BT3 also had a better character selection and customization screen that made it easier to find the characters you want. Yes sparking zero has filters but it’s just annoying as hell to sift through all those characters when they could have just put the forms behind the base form character like how BT3 did. Also why aren’t the stats displayed on the character select??!! That would make the game so much better than having to constantly enter the customize screen to see stats. Also biggest disappointment they removed the max power combos like bt3 had where you got stylish finishers added to attacks when in max power. Now in order to do them you have to actually use the super regularly in a combo and it takes you out of max power. 🤦🏽‍♂️ 5.) Lord Jesus don’t get me started on the trash tutorial mode. Luckily I played BT3 so I know most of the stuff. But you could fully master this tutorial and still be absolutely trash at the game. Also why do I have to queue every individual action?? Just make an offense, defense, ki, supers, impact clashes tutorial. Not separate tutorials for every action, tf? Also it’s 2024 they could have easily made a better tutorial then this that explains the chain combos, combo extenders, and overall gameplay loop better.

Everything else you posted I'm fine with, but extra combo finisher in max is where i draw the line... Also, i think Sonic sway has sound to it when activated, dont know about other combos.. though i don't remember if every vanish combo had one

Split screen mode was not originally part of the game but was made because of the demand of the player base after first review and the dev were kind enough to give it to us in just a few months. Also I think this game is a staple of how devs should take every criticism as positive and work through them cause the improvement in the game is very notifiable from it's first trailer to now.

If it was maybe 10 years ago, I would have definitely picked this game up. Now, having played so many DB games, I have outgrown the need to play the same saga over again. I was never going to play online, I never did that in the previous budokai games either, but just from a single player perspective this is definitely not a full price purchase for me. You can just play kakarot with all the dlc for like $20 at this point. 100 plus hours of story content with dlc or like 15 with sparking zero for $110? Pretty easy choice if you aren’t playing online.

Same here, I loved the old games, I loved the xenoverse games and even liked kakarot. I love the idea of this game and will probably get it when it goes on sale, but this gameplay feels like xenoverse 2 but with more characters

I'm going to be playing Metaphor: Refantazio when it launches because it's a new IP from ATLUS and, I've honestly outgrown the DB hype now. Nothing against the franchise, it's not for me anymore.

@@wanderer6161 Refantazio will be very good. I don’t like fantasy games at all though. It’s got to be a modern setting or sci fi for me. Loved fallout but hate Skyrim type deal. Playing persona 3 and 4 when you were the same age as the characters and you see that calendar with those years is insane. I can’t relate to fairies though.

You can play online with item power ups or without them. You can play online with DP which limits the power of the characters they can use on their team. You can't have 5 broken characters. You can either have 1 broken one and 1 mid one or 5 mid to low power ones.

This game could have been 2 things from perfect. 1. If the cutscenes were actual snippets from episodes. (I feel like the actual cutscenes look a little odd, especially their hands) 2. If the hud details were simplified on the selection window.

This game brings me back to the Tenkaichi days. Dragon ball will forever have a place in my heart. I am enjoying this game despite getting cooked by the CPU. I may break down and buy the music DLC. Grew up watching dragon ball and dragon ball Z in Japanese, so I enjoy the original music.

12:30 Super Shenron doesn't have exclusive characters to unlock behind him. Simply reach Player Level 20 and all characters can be purchased in Bulma's Shop. Super Shenron just lets you early unlock characters that you may not be a high enough level to buy yet. Goku Black and Fused Zamasu from Super Shenron require player level 20 (max) to be purchased or wish them from him.

I don’t recall the old games having Splitscreen multiplayer.. As I recall, the camera stayed centered on both players & would zoom out as distance between increased from another. Would be a nice implementation to access more maps
