Luca S. That's 0K, it's your experience. But to be fair, you are talking about DkS2 which is either the easiest or hardest Souls. Try using no shield on that one, particularly if you do it without leveling Adaptability you'll get destroyed.

In the high wall of lothric, make sure to go to the right on the path to the room with the estus shard. Drop down at the end of the balcony to reach the opposite side of the middle balcony (the upstairs area you enter the room from to get the cell key) and you can get the Astora straightsword out of a chest.

Alfredo Belloni It's good for early game. The scaling on it is terrible, but with a raw infusion, it can out-perform other straightswords till about +6. It's great for early game. Now the Astora Great Sword, on the other hand, is like a slightly lighter, ever so slightly weaker Zweinhander, but it has a weapon art similar to a spear, rather than the stomp. That weapon is awesome. However, the straightsword is good until you can level up the Irithyl Straightsword, the Dark sword (Ew!) Anri's Sraightsword or the Sunlight Straightsword, depending on your build and of course, if you like straightswords.

Alfredo Belloni It depends on what build you're running. If you run a quality build, (40/40 strength/dex) any other straightsword with a refined infusion can out-perform it. My biggest problem with that weapon is that there are no thrust attacks, but slash damage instead. This means your blade's harder to use in narrow corridors and does considerably less damage to heavily armoured enemies.

Tip: Each enemy has an Aggro Zone and they will step back once reached the threshold of their own zone. Use it wisely whenever you have a hard time. Example: Lothric Knights will never step inside the Blue Cathedral or Vordt's zone, Uchigatana Guy will never go inside the Altar, The 2nd Giant inside the Deep Cathedral cannot hit you if you stay under the staircase in which you find Drang's hammers. Plus, the first Crystal Lizard can be easily get stuck in the place you have found the Mana Estus Flask.

His reaction when opening that chest to find a mimic is priceless and we've all done it when we played this game the first time and probably that exact chest and to those worried about trying to get titanite shards don't be too Frugal with them because enemies later in the game drop them like candy I won't say which enemies and I won't say how far into the story to avoid spoilers for those that haven't beat this game yet with that being said though an early game you want to choose a weapon that you're going to use the most and level that up first

A really good advice against that first Mimic would be to get the Undead Hunter Charms in the same room you got one of those Titanites and use it on the Mimic, he'll yawn and after 5 seconds you can pick his item without having to kill him!

Ngl I recently bought dark souls 3 after playing 400+ hours of elden ring and dark souls 3 is the first soul series I own. There was such a huge difference and DS3 is honestly a bit more unforgiving than elden ring but I’m already loving the game I got the uchigatana from the guy at the beginning, killed the lizard, killed the mimic, almost killed the dragon that comes out of now where and killed that fat frost boss. I’m only like 5 hours and 11 minutes into the game. (Also sadly I found all these things out on my own except the undead settlement I still have to explore the next areas after that frost boss because I had to come back to free that prisoner and was 4 am so I went to bed)

Another good item to get is to go all the way across the bridge you jumped off of to get to the roof of the shrine, this leads you into a little tower, make your way to the bottom of the tower and you'll find the "Estus Ring" which gives an increase to your Estus Flask's healing ability roughly equivalent to the boost given by an Undead Bone Shard.

nice, informative vid, gj p.s. use loyds talisman(throwing item: stops the use of estus flaks) on mimic to make it fall asleep, hidden game mechanic since darksouls 1, you can loot it like a normal chest if you do so it makes your life easyer, they can be found early on or bought from one of the vendors, cheers.

A suggestion for those who don't know. When you get to a chest you think is a mimic, chuck a hunter's charm at it. If it's a mimic it will fall asleep with its mouth open, and you can loot it like a normal chest while it's sleeping. If you're really lucky, you may be able to loot a symbol of avarice off of it, including the very first one in the high wall of lothric.

Yes, tried it today. But there is a much easier to get it early: From the Firelink Shrine bonfire, go up the left hand stairs, make a right then a left, wait for the fog to disappear. Walk out, up to the left, there is a tree next to the roof use that tree to jump on the roof. Face the roof, run diagonally up the tree, then move the stick diagonal right while pressing the jump button, it may take a few tries, but getting an Estus Shard and the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring is really worth the trouble.

It's pretty straight forward; All bosses until the first lord of cinder are relatively easy, the map is quite straight forward and only branches twice (thrice if you take something that's high level in consideration). You don't get lost very easily if you're aware of where you go, consider using the dark sword (look up a build and where to get it); it's an easy to handle sword, great for beginners, look in every corner where you go and pick up everything you see, try to refrain yourself from using guides, because that kills the magic of the game... I wish you success on your journey, fellow champion of ash.

#1 should've been Raw Astora's Straight 200 damage.

***** Raw is staying ahead in damage for quite a while, by the time you could change it to any of those three so that they can compete with Astora's raw damage (if you even need to do that, since it's really powerful without any stat investment, allowing you to go hp\stamina) you could just go with a better weapon overall. But it's a solid thing that can carry you through a whole game on its minimal requirements.

OMG i just found a way to kill him without even hitting me follow these steps. -Try and bait him to get to the ledge near the bonfire - Then wait til he rolls ( he is gonna do that) -He will fall off the ledge and you will get the drop!!!! ahahahha i just did that cuz i could not beat him ^^
